I had some time on my hands so compiled this list of 20 promising youngsters from 20 (often obscure) countries. They also feature my hopefully realistic predictions:

U.S.A.

 

Alex Wuhl (21) – Played 29 games for New York Red Bulls this year and due a big rise. 70 to 78/80

Bosnia

 

Vladimir Grahovac (21) – Bosnia may be updated soon and has featured 12 times this season. 70 to 74

Ecuador

 

Richard Calderon (23) – A regular starter for Barcelona SC, the best team in Ecuador. 75 to 80

Japan

 

Yosuke Ideguchi (20) – Recently called up to the national squad for the first time. 78 to 82/3

Portugal

 

Joao Pedro (23) – An ever present for Vitoria. 78 to 82

Argentina

 

Tomas Sandoval (17) – Has featured in 7 games for Colon so far this season. 70 to 76

Uruguay

 

Hugo Silveira (23) – A regular for table toppers Nacional. 78 to 81/2

Netherlands

 

Matthias Verreth (18) – One of PSV’s best prospects. 70 to 76

Venezuela

 

Jose Luis Marrufo (20) – A regular for Deportivo Tachira. 73 to 78

Germany

 

Kai Havertz (17) – Has already made 4 appearances for Leverkusen. 70 to 76

Iceland

 

Bodvar Bodvarsson (21) – Has played in 20 games for FH. 73 to 77

South Korea

 

Dong Jin-Park (21) – Has featured 24 times for Gwangju. 70 to 75

China

 

Zhang Xiaobin (23) -  A key player for China’s 2nd best club, Jiangsu. 75 to 78

Matias Fernandez (21) – Has played in every game for Santiago so far this season. 70 to 75

Osmar Leguizamon (22) – Has scored 17 goals for General Caballero from 28 games. 74 to 78

Finland

 

Obed Malolo (19) – Has featured 15 times for HJK this season. 70 to 74

Turkey

 

Cengiz Under (19) – Already a key player for Istanbul. 78 to 82/3

Australia

 

Ivan Vujica (19) – A regular starter for Newcastle Jets. 73 to 77

Slovenia

 

Aljaz Ivacic (23) – Starting goalkeeper for his club side. 70 to 73/4

Hungary

 

Donat Szivacski (19) – Has started 10 games for Vasas, one of Hungary’s best teams. 70 to 74
