English Championship - Ratings changes

I thought of creating this thread for changes yet to occur for players who ply their trade in the Championship . There is already one for those in the Premiership but this is for the lower league :

I will roll the dice by giving a few of mine and hope you co-operate . thanks :

1) Ryan Shawcross/Stoke City - (CB/80/20yrs) => Currently playing for Stoke City on loan from Manchester United . He has clocked up 1993 minutes this season starting 22 games (league and cup) and amazingly scored 5 goals as he is a centre back . Ryan was supposed to return to Man. Utd this January but Stoke City fought hard for him and won him till the end of the season as they are pushing for a place in the Premiership next season .

Prediction : A rise to 83-84 will be fine

2) Martin Paterson/Shorpe United - (F/78/20 yrs) => He was signed early this season to replace the departed Billy Sharp . He scored on his debut and by 2nd November he had registered 7 goals in 11 starts . As at now he played 21 games and scored 9 goals . He was rewarded with a debut for the Northern Ireland national team coming off as a sub .

Prediction : A rise to 82-83 will do for now .

3) Alan Sheehan/Leicester City: -(LB/77/21 yrs) => Alan is an Irish left back .This has been his best season as he has started 17 games as compared to the previous ones (10 last year and 2 the one before) . A free kick specialist , He now is the regular corner and free kick taker at Leicester . Scored 2 goals one in the league and the other in the Carling cup . He recently received a call up the Irish Under 21 squad.

Prediction : A rise to 80-81 is ok .

4) Ben Turner/Coventry City- (CB/76/19yrs) => Turner broke into the Coventry first team for the Manchester United Carling Cup game where he played the entire game helping to keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford . As at now he has started 14 games and accumulated only 2 yellow cards . Ben is also a regular for England u-19 .

Predicition : An increase to 80 .

5) Robbie Simpson/Coventry City - (CF/70/21yrs) => After banging 40 goals for Cambridge he joined Coventry in a tough battle as the transfer was disgraceful . Has had 15 appearances for them this season( half were sub ) scoring 2 goals . The chairman sees him as a hot prospect for the club .

Prediction : He is much of a 10k riser so 74-75 will be fine .

6) Mark Beevers/Sheffield Wednesday -(CB/71/18yrs) => Much was spoken of this lad a year ago when he was rated 68 . I bought him and sold him later as i thought he wouldn't play and i am sure most of you did as i did . He amazingly did 3 starts , 2 sub appearances and this attracted scouts from Chelsea and Man Utd who where interested in him .

Prediction : 71-73

These are all i have for now , you contributions , suggestions and comments are warmly welcomed.

N/B: I apologize if any of these were mentioned before . The main aim of this thread was to create a similar one to German Changes , Italian changes , etc and reduce the number of threads on the forum .

Thanks .

Ahmed.

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

Southampton FC Changes

GOING UP

Stern JOHN 83-->86

established himself as first choice centre forward, and has scored plenty, including hat-trick vs Hull recently.

Nathan DYER 80-->83

Very promising, quick winger. Has performed well all season, attracting interest from premiership clubs. Deserves to be at least on a par with Surman.

Bradley WRIGHT-PHILLIPS 83-->84

Good recent form. Small increase.

GOING DOWN

Jason EUELL 85 -->83

Distinctly average season.

Michael SVENSSON 81 --> 70

Always injured, practically retired

Claus LUNDEKVAM 85-->82

Currently injured. no play this season, has been sorely missed

Gregory VIGNAL 84-->82

Good pitch time but has looked inept, woeful at the back when he's played.

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

Danny Crow

Up by 6 to an 80 methinks.

The same Danny Crow who has only played 65 minutes for League 2 Notts County? I don't see why he would move up unless I am missing something.

I think for Norwich only Jon Otsemobor deserves an increase as he has played the second most on the team after goalkeeper David Marshall and is only rated 79. I could see him hitting the 82-83 mark.

Two of our players on loan (Ched Evans and Matthew Pattison) could see significant increases when the English ratings come around if they continue to start as expected.

For our hated rivals Ipswich I could see Jonathan Walters moving up from an 80 to an 84 after he has started all their games and scored a whopping 9 goals.

Owen Garvan could also see a few points increase from an 82-84.

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

A few Norwich Changes

Jon Otsemobor (79) - One of Norwich's most consistant players this season and a valuble asset to the club. Should hit between 82/83 now.

Ian Murray (84) - Well down the pecking order and is looking for a move away from Norwich in January. Interest from Falkirk. Down 1 to about 83

David Strihavka (85) - Waste of space and money. One goal scored and Roeder is fuming with him and wants him out in January. Down to 84 maybe even an 83

Matty Pattison (76) Played in all games since joining Roeders old club on loan. Made a difference to the team in many ways and should hit an 80.

Chris Brown (81) One goal 8 appearences, 5 as a sub. As much use as a chocolate teapot and Roeder wants him out and so do i. 80 will do him fine.

These are a few for now and i'll do the rest when a get some more free time.

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

Guys, I wonder if some Championship League experts could share their views on the ratings of WBA's Zoltán GERA. The captain of the Hungarian national side seems to get little pitch time for the Baggies despite some good performances this autumn. I've even heard speculations about a possible move to Bolton.

I was just wondering if his rating deserves an increase compared to other West Brom midfielders stats. I`d reckon an increase from 86 to 87 as not unjust for him.

What do you think?

Matches played/Goals/assists/minutes

Age/current rating

Gera

Championship 25/4/3/1783

EURO qualifiers 11/4/0/966

Total:

36/8/3/2749

28/86

Other WBA midfielders

Koren

33/8/3/2716 (incl. games for Slovenia)

27/86

Greening

26/1/4/2297

29/86

Chaplow

5/0/0/205

22/82

Miller

19/7/6/1233

20/81

Teixeira

23/5/4/1504

27/86

Morrison

19/1/4/1160

21/85

Brunt

29/2/8/1738 (incl. games for N.Ireland)

23/84

As a display of his recent form here's his latest goal against Shorpe:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCjtduvDOOM

And, just for fun :), the brilliant tackle against Cannavaro and assist that led to the third goal in the surprise victory of Hungary against the reigning world champions in August:

Happy to hear your opinions Gents!

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

Any thoughts' date=' guys?

I'd really appreciate any input from frequent Championship watchers as I don't get a direct view on the games on TV, unfortunately...[/quote']

I dont think 87 is feesable at all. that would make him in terms of ratings, the leagues best player, which he isnt. he isnt even the best player at west brom. To be honest id be surprised if he keeps his 86. i think 85 would be more realistic.

Ahmed, once again, spot on! your stats and reasoning is always dead on the money. Id also like to elaborate on that a bit. I believe Michael Mifsud should go back up to 86. I couldnt understand for the life of me why SM dropped him by 1 last time. Since when do on form players get rating decreases? hes proven time and time again he is true quality and in my opinion he is the best forward in the league and i believe his rating should reflect this. Also, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake of plymouth is having a fine season and scoring freely and is now 1 of the leagues highest scorers, at the age of only 21 this kid could have a decent future. a rise from 81->83 for now, 84 in future. ;) keep up the fantastic work Ahmed and i will be repping you once again!

Cheers Mate, really appreciate your prompt post.

As said, I only speculated about a possible increase in the light of other WBA midfielders' stats (compare e.g. Teixeira or Greening), but I'm not familiar enough with the general ratings of that league, or real live coverage to base a judgement on.

Hope he avoids a decrease though...

Thanks again.

An update on these players ,

Ryan Shawcross has now started 27 games for Stoke this season and scored 7 goals . A dangerous player from set-pieces .He could get a rating of 84 or 85 .Brilliant player .

Mark Beevers now seems to be a starter for S. Wednesday .6 starts and 2 subs in the league . Yesterday he played and scored in the FA cup against Derby County .

David Moyes was planning a 2 million pound bid for Beevers to prepare a long term replacement for David Weir and Alan Stubbs.

Del Dooley believes Mark Beevers to be the world's greatest living centre back.

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

I hear Ishmael Miller is doing a good job at WBA. What kind of increase you think he is likely to get?

Yes he is doing very well and has contributed immensely in their first position now . Having scored 7 goals in 13 starts and 5 sub appearances he could rise from 81 to 83/84.

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

Casper Ankergren

does deserve to go back to 86 good post.

His discussion must not take place here but no worries. He is for Leeds in League One . League One is taken as a 3rd Division league and their players are usually rated not more than 80-82 . But this keeper has been impressive this season for them keeping 10/11 clean sheets in 18/19 games He also won the player of the month award ( amazing as a goalkeeper) . I think he should keep his rating but if SM want to increase him then by 1 .

Re: English Championship - Ratings changes

Casper Ankergren

28 Years Old

Rated 83

Value: 2.6M

He will not go up by any chance, because he plays in League One and League One ratings are from 75-->80 and although he has had good performances, he will not go up.

Stats for Leeds

25 Games

17 Wins

4 Draws

4 Losses

40 Points

47 Goals Scored

21 Goals Conceded

+26 Goal Difference

Ranked 4th

Stats for Ankergren

24 Starts

2181 Minutes

Conceded 20 Goals

Not the best of stats for Ankergren but did win Goalkeeper of the Month so he should keep his rating.
