Recommended Posts

Name: James Hardy

DOB: 11/05/96

Position: Winger/Midfield

Nationality: English

Club: AFC Flyde (Conference North)

James Hardy is a product of the Oldham Athletic youth academy, after spending some time there he got an offer from Manchester City in the summer of 2012.

After signing with Manchester City he made his debut for the u18s at just 16 years of age in a fixture against Chelsea which featured players such as Reuben Loftus-Cheek and Brandon Barker.

James was part of the Manchester City academy for three years, He also scored a significant goal in a high profile match in Hong Kong against Aston Villa and made his u21 debut against Southampton.

After being released by Manchester City James was keen to get back into football and quickly signed for an ambitious non league side in AFC Flyde. By the end of the season he appeared in 23 games scoring 3 goals which lead to AFC Flyde making the playoffs.

By the end of 2016 James got called up to the England C team which he didn't waste providing two assists in a 2-1 victory of Estonia.

As for why he's the new Jamie Vardy despite a similar sounding name:

James Hardy has had numerous admirers the main being Fleetwood Town who look really keen which could be a great deal for James as it was Fleetwood who signed Jamie Vardy from Halifax Town before selling him onto Leicester City, we all know what happened from there.

Other clubs keen on his signature are Bolton, Blackpool, Wigan, Blackburn and Everton. The latter would also be a good fit due to Everton's growing youth among there ranks with the likes of Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman who have broke into the first team.

AFC Flyde have put a £500,000 price tag on his head, so watch this space.
