thorgan lesar 2,789
ROYAL EXCEL MOESKROEN At this moment Royal Excel Moeskroen got Yannis Mbumbo, Clément Libertiaux, Jean Butez, Jonathan Bolingi, Bruno Godeau, Logan Bailly, Selim Amallah and Omar Govea as new players in their squad. It’s not spectacular, but RE Moeskroen has a low budget of 6 million euros. It isn’t easy to bring the level each season with a low budget. The last 2 years they struggled, but had a lot of luck in the end of the competition each time. I’m afraid their squad is in my eyes too weak to stay this year in division 1. With Logan Bailly and Bruno Godeau they got 2 decent players. Omar Govea can be a revelation this year, but he will need to adapt to the Belgian football. They lost their important players from previous season (Trézéguet and Diéudhiou) and even if they have done their transfers, I’m afraid it will be a difficult season. Possitive is that this year Moeskroen has more local talents in their team via their Youth Academie FuturoSport. This can bring hopefully more fans to their stadion what also is important for this team. + Mircea Rednic saved them the previous season and believes in a good season. - Their best players Trézéguet and Diedhiou left. 1000dB
thorgan lesar 2,789
KV Kortrijk KV Kortrijk is now 10 years in first division. The previous 9 they had a calm season, but this year can be different. There are many doubts in Kortrijk. There are rumours that the Tai Vincent Tan wants to sell KV Kortrijk. They fired Karim Belhocine as coach, but now he has a new function as sportive manager. He has a higher function then new coach Yannis Anastasiou. What does that say ? Idriss Saadi that made the most goals is replaced by the Ukrainian Budkivskiy. Just like Kumordzi that didn’t break through in KRC Genk. The other new players are more certitudes for KVK. Bryan Verboom, Christopher Lepoint and Sébastien Bruzesse will be important for Kortrijk. In my eyes they miss 2 centre backs and a right defender. Teams from the same provence like Zulte Waregem and KV Oostende already has a huge advance. Even teams like STVV, Waasland-Beveren and Antwerp are not weaker then Waregem and Oostende. The coach made already impressions, but there are a lot of If’s to complete. + The new coach Anastasiou brings a new dynamic in the team - Defensive unsure, the team misses a real striker. 1000dB

thorgan lesar 2,789
KAS Eupen For the first time in the club history Eupen starts at his second year in the first division. The goal is like previous season to say in Division 1. The current squad can maybe surprise again this year. The results in the preparation are hopeful. They played against Mönchengladbach (2-2) and against Roda JC (5-0) Eupen was too strong. The biggest problem – the defence – is approached. With new player Jordan Lotiès (121 matches in Ligue 1 and 30 in La Liga) there is an experienced defender. Tirpan and left defender Hassan give Eupen more power and figure. Nils Schouterden is also good as back-up for the wingers they have now. In the offensive compartment they lost Henry Onyekuru (now RSC Anderlecht) and Mamadou Sylla (KAA Gent). It’s a huge loss. Onyekuru and Sylla were good for 34 goals from the 60 goals that Eupen made. They got now Nicolas Verdier and Moussa Diallo (played previous season in Amateur II) and the Qatarian players Akrim Afif and Hamza Alsenhaji. With more defensive stability connected to a less offensive compartment I see KAS Eupen on the same position as previous season. Moussa Wagué can be a revelation this year. Follow him . In the Kehrweg (the stadion) we will see like always spectacle. 1000dB
thorgan lesar 2,789
Waasland-Beveren Waasland-Beveren starts at his 6th season in the Jupiler Pro League on the highest level. The 5 previous seasons they fought against the degradation. I look forward if they can forget the fight against degradation. President Dirk Huyck has the ambition the become a stable sub team. A couple of years ago this team was a place with many transfers. Now they changed in a positive way. It’s calm on the transfer window. For the moment they can keep their best players, but there is lot of interest in their players. One of them is Laurent Jans. He is even wanted in the Premier League in England. It will be hard to keep them. Meanwhile they already have done 3 transfers. One of them is record transfer Ryota Morioka. He need to forget Siebe Schrijvers with his talent and creativity. Jur Schryvers is a back-up for Laurent Jans. Joachim Van Damme is an experienced player in the Belgian League and will give his experience to their youngsters. For the rest it’s unusual calm. They need a goalkeeper that can become a concurrent for their keeper Merveille Goblet. They need especially a creative winger that needs to forget Langil. That’s important to have a calm season this year. With new coach Philippe Clement Waasland-Beveren hopes finally for stability in this competition. The 43-years old coach will begin his career in Beveren and so far he makes a good impression on the group. So if they can hold their players and can get 2 important players maybe they can get more then place nr. 13 . + Coach Philippe Clement impressed - A replacement for Langil 1000dB
thorgan lesar 2,789
Royal Antwerp FC Antwerp got promoted to the first division. It’s pleasant to see them again after 13 years in second division. Antwerp has an active summer on this moment. A couple of months ago we heard that Paul Gheyssen is the manager of this ambitious football team. He is one of the richest persons in Belgium. I would say around Top 10 in Belgium. They also have a new coach and a new sportive manger. Läzslo Böloni will be head coach of Antwerp FC, Luciano D’Onofrio (known in Brazil, Portugal, Belgium, France and Italy) is the sportive manager. He was sportive manager in the years of success for Standard Luik. The 2 amazing years with players like Axel Witsel, Marouane Fellaini and Steven Defour. Meanwhile the transfers aren’t done yet. Definitely not for the moment. There are 6 players that left Antwerp FC already and also 6 players that joins Antwerp this year. For the moment there is an analyse of their squad, but the competition is close. Friday they will start against the Champion of previous season RSC Anderlecht. We suspect that Antwerp will do some good transfers, but on this moment their squad isn’t ready for first division. We think Antwerp will do well in his first year in First Division, but the beginning can be very hard. 0/18 is possible, but there will be more quality at the end of August. No first 11 for Antwerp. This team will look very different in August. 1000dB
thorgan lesar 2,789
Sporting Lokeren OV After 2 grey seasons Lokeren hopes to find a position near the subtop in the competition. The ambition from Lokeren is so long as possible fight for Play-Off 1. It will be very difficult for Lokeren OV, because the list of candidats for Play-Off 1 is going bigger and bigger. One thing is for sure. It will be exciting who will be in Play-Off 1. Sporting Lokeren already did most of their homework for this summer. With Samy Kehli (plays like Hans Vanaken), Luciano Slagveer (fast winger) and Robin Söder (smart, polyvalent attacker) they made their most important problem very small. Which is good of course. Wingbacks Stefano Marzo (experienced) and Tracy Mpati (athletic and quality player from 1B) and Juan Pablo Torres (defensive midfielder, huge talent (only 17 yrs old)) brings more quality in the squad from Lokeren OV. As CB Lokeren haven’t a player with a lot of experienced. If Mijat Maric falls out, it will be a defending with less experience. Joher Khadim Rassoul, Arno Monsecour and Branislav Ninaj are nice talents, but not really leaders for the defending. With the attacking transfers we can only hope there is more spectacular at Daknam (the stadion) this year. + More talent in attacking compartment - Not so much experience in the defending if Maric falls out. 1000dB
thorgan lesar 2,789
Sint-Truidense VV STVV has a very hard beginning in this season. KAA Gent, Zulte Waregem, Standard Luik and RSC Anderlecht. STVV isn’t ready yet for the start of the season. It’s necessary for STVV to take points away in the first matches. The midfield is a problem for the moment. After Pieter Gerkens (RSC Anderlecht) and Stef Peeters (SM Caen) left, there is no one ready to replace them. Rob Schoofs was number 1 to bring to STVV, but he chose for KV Mechelen. Gerkens and Peeters were good for 19 goals and 17 assists. They need also a winger, but Kyle Abrahams (can be a revelation) made already a lot of impression for now. The Greek Charisis couldn’t make yet enough impression to have a calm season. Ivan Leko (now Club Brugge KV) left STVV, but he played previous season in a 3-5-2 system what was successful. The new Spanish coach Bartolomé Marquez wants to play in 4-4-2 system, but the squad are adapting to the new system. A positive call is that STVV has more offensive qualities since long time ago. Igor Vetokele and Yohann Boli are the architects from the offensive compartment. Babacar Gueye has showed previous season in Waregem, that he has a lot of qualities. As backs they got also really decent players now with newcomer Kitsiou at the right and Antunes at the left. As wingers Jordan Botaka didn’t made yet enough impression, but from Ceballos there are high expectations. With Lucas Pirard they have a nice young talent as keeper and Kenny Steppe good enough to be number 2. But there are still questions about the system and the midfield what they can do. + Long time ago that they had a nice attacking compartment. - The 4-4-2 system isn’t on point yet 1000dB
