@zsp2 Who will get into Italy's U21 squad for the EUROs in Italy? I saw quite a few that are eligible for the U21 EUROs, the likes of Donnarumma, Mancini, Barella, Chiesa, Zaniolo, Kean, ..., are getting called up by the senior team. Zaniolo and Kean were brought up in Mancini's presser yesterday, e.g. see the tweet below.

Italy's and Belgium's U21s are in the same group. My expectations for Belgium aren't very high TBH. It would help if Mancini decides that those eligible players stay with the senior squad. IMHO Calabria deserves to join the senior squad too 👍

I confirm my previous message, yesterday Di Biagio told that he will call all the best, maybe also Donnarumma.

A website told that the called could be:

Goalkeapers: Gianluigi Donnarumma (Milan), Emil Audero (Sampdoria), Alex Meret (Napoli);
Defensors: Claud Adjapong (Sassuolo), Alessandro Bastoni (Parma), Kevin Bonifazi (Spal), Davide Calabria (Milan), Federico Dimarco (Parma), Gianluca Mancini (Atalanta), Luca Pellegrini (Roma), Filippo Romagna (Cagliari);
Midfielders: Nicolò Barella (Cagliari), Manuel Locatelli (Sassuolo), Rolando Mandragora (Udinese), Lorenzo Pellegrini (Roma), Sandro Tonali (Brescia), Nicolò Zaniolo (Roma);
Strikers: Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina), Patrick Cutrone (Milan), Moise Kean (Juventus), Riccardo Orsolini (Bologna), Vittorio Parigini (Torino), Andrea Pinamonti (Frosinone).

Predicted line up – Italy U21 (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Calabria, Mancini, Bonifazi, Dimarco; Mandragora (Zaniolo), Barella, Lo. Pellegrini; Chiesa, Cutrone, Kean. Coach: Di Biagio.

I really hope so, would be such a great team

Looks very strong indeed. How did Italy's U21 do in the recent friendlies @zsp2

In Belgium's last friendly, against Denmark's U21s, we could hardly create any chances. Yet against the run of play we did go two goals up in the first half. Then in the interval Walem made 8 changes, resulting in unorganized, abysmal defending, and eventually we conceded 3 goals to lose the game in injury time.

Walem used a 4-4-2. This formation was not expected. If he's going with a different approach then I'd prefer 5-3-2/3-5-2. Or rather go with a 3-4-2-1 to utilize the best players at his disposal and mirror the senior team. It would smoothen the path of those that can make the step to the senior team. Martinez is very much involved with the youth teams and is looking to bleed in players after all.

Italy drew twice, played both with 4-3-3, was without lots of players of the list above like Donnarumma, Mancini, Zaniolo, Chiesa, Kean, Lo. Pellegrini.

Against Austria 0-0 Italy deserved to win, but Cutrone did a poor performance and missed few occasions.

Against Croazia 2-2, crazy match, Italy was winning 2-0 and could score the third in many occasions, but missed it, and Croazia drew.

Also Di Biagio changed lots of players, but is important for try all.

I saw Tonali and he remembered me Pirlo in Brescia, the first year in that position, I'm really curious to see him in Serie A. It's a really big comparison I know, but he has really several stuff of him

No thanks, I would prefer if Bastoni come back home: Atalanta 😁, so he doesn't have to learn a new language🤣

He doesn't have to learn a new language. :) If he can English then it's no problem :)

And no... I actually don't have a team, but if I really need to chose I would take KAA Gent because I like the city, the team and I'm studying in the city. :)

Is Atalanta your team ?

Yeah, French and Dutch are the 2 important languages, but everyone (the coaches, the staff, 1/2 from the players at least) can speak English so that's no problem :)

Gent is such a nice city. Definetly interesting to see :)

I've been once in Bergamo. Really beautiful

There are rumours that Internazionale is thinking to sell Vanheusden… That's not good news for Standard De Liège, because he is too expensive for them. Hopefully this is just a rumour…

I double checked and in Italy there isn't this news, the last are about february and says that Inter want to keep him for the future.

Inter for finantial fair play does lots of gain capital on young players (Bettella and Carraro with Atalanta, Dimarco with Parma, Radu with Genoa, Odgaard with Sassuolo etc) where he sell and have a buy back clause.

They sold Zaniolo without it, so is possible that they sell him with a buy back clause of 1-2 years, for follow how he improves and decide what to do later.

If I read something about I tell you ;)

Now I go to San Siro, FORZA ATALANTA!

Thorgan to Dortmund for €40m. According to the article BMG have resigned to losing him, he gave his word that he'll join Dortmund and the deal is all but complete.

Hopefully he finds his form back before he leaves to Dortmund.. . Isn't playing on his best level for the moment.
