Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Welcome Joe, you have picked the wrong region to research really mate as there are already sticky threads for brazil and argentina which usually have the questions on it answered by Dexterbrazil as he is from Brazil and Teje who is from Argentina (i think) so maybe best to choose another region of the world mate.

Welcome to the forum anyway, i'm sure your enjoy your time here.

Juan Forlín

Juan Forlín

#1 Juan Forlín could well turn out to be an incredible talent, he is currently on loan to Real Madrid Castilla for 2 seasons, Real Madrid's youth team, if you like. He came to prominence in the Boca Juniors youth academy. He is a defender and has represented Argentina at U20 level. If he is given his chance at Real Madrid Castilla, and plays to the best of his ability, a permanent move may be on the cards. He is currently waiting to receive his Italian passport, then he can officially play for Real.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Osvaldo Gaitan

#2 Osvaldo Gaitan, this guy is a very creative midfielder, an old fashioned number 10, if you like. He is currently playing for Boca Juniors, but has been linked with Inter Milan, he came to light during the Champions Youth Cup 2007 in Malaysia. He is 19 years of age, he is yet to represent his country but a call up is not far away in my honest opinion.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Christian La Torre

#3 La Torre is a hot prospect for Peru by the looks of the following video:

http://http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SvpxtiFXGYs

He is a striker with a keen eye for goal. He played at this years Fifa U17 World Cup, where Peru reached the quarter finals. Christian currently plays for Sport Boys in his homeland, Peru. PSV Eindhoven are keen on the youngster. He may well be joining up with Jefferson Farfan, his Peruvian counterpart at PSV very soon.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Deison Mendez

#4 This Ecuadorian talent, a very special gem, is about to enter European football with Inter Milan. Inter have signed him from LDU Quito, the biggest club in Ecuador. He is a defender and is 17 years of age. He represented Ecuador at this years South American U17 Championships, starting all 4 of Ecuador's games. If he fufills his potential with Inter Milan he may well turn out to be one of the best defensive talents in the world. 1st team action will not be open to him just yet, as he is going into the Inter youth side, to develop his promising talents.

How would you rate him compared to Reimond Manco?

Carlos Eduardo Sabja

#5 This 17 year old from Bolivia has already moved to a European club in Benfica. He appeared in all of Bolivia's South American U17 Championship matches, scoring 1 goal. Ajax have also stated their interest in taking him away from Benfica. He is a forward. Whether he can make it at european level is yet to be seen.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Fernando Muslera

#6 Arguably one of the best young South American goalkeepers around. He s 21 years of age so he has some 1st team experience aleady. He is 1st choice goalkeeper at Lazio of Italy, and is fast becoming the replacement for Fabían Carini the current Uruguay national team number 1. Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan, Benfica and Genoa are all said to be interested in the young goalkeeper. We may well see him with another 'bigger club' in either Italy, England or Portugal very soon.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Aislan

#7 After the sale of Breno by Sao Paulo to Bayern Munich, Aislan the young towering defender has been promoted into Sao Paulo's first team to replace Breno at centre half. Aislan won the best defender award at this years Youth World Club Cup, which Sao Paulo won, beating Chelsea 1-0 in the final. AC Milan and Inter Milan, the two great rivals are said to be interested in the 19 year old. He is valued at around 2 million euros, but Sao Paulo would push for more money if bigger clubs wanted to buy. Sao Paulo would probabily want to hang on to him at least until the end of the Brazilian Championship.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Danilinho

#8 This guy is an unknown quantity, he moved to Schalke when he was only 16 and spent two seasons on loan at Mirassol and América. Unfortunately Schalke decided to release him after the two loans. Santos immediately snapped him up, to bring him back to his native country. Danilinho only played 10 games throughout the 2006 Brazilian season, this resulted in him moving to 2nd division Athlético Mineiro where he has shone, scoring 6 goals in 28 games from the attacking midfield position. St Etienne are the latest team to be interested in the 20 year old. Who knows if he will shine in Europe or whether he will fade again. Superstar in the making or just an average player, take your guess. Media in and around Brazil have been very impressed with the playmaker.

Re: South American Superstars Part 1

Coutinho

#10 This player could turn out to be the next Pele, if he continues to show is incredible talent for the Brazil U15s and Vasco De Gama. He is only 15 years of age and he has already been strongly linked with Real Madrid, whose scouts (Miguel Angel Portugal and Julen Lopetegui) have been very impressed by his technical abilities. Coutinho is an attacking midfielder who scored 3 goals in 4 matches for Brazil's U15s at this years South American U15 Championships. Reports suggest that he will sign for Real Madrid when he turns 16. Real are the favourites, but Barcelona, Valencia, Athletico Madrid and Villareal have all stated their interest in the teenager. Watch out for this player in the future on SM, maybe one of the highest rated players on the game. One things for sure. I will have him.
