Club Brugge going to Europa League. KRC Genk his nightmare is ended. They aren't playing well in the competition and with that in mind, you can't do anything in the CL.

Nice victory of Atalanta yesterday.. Gongratz ;)@zsp2

Still chance for going through (EL or CL)

WE DID IT!

Atalanta is one of the best 16 teams in Europe, just a month ago it seems impossible.

Castagne played really well defensively and scored the first goal.

Standard failed to grab the 10 points needed to advance to the KOs last matchday and also this matchday (despite having a 2 goal lead to defend). It was a hard group and yet they came close again. The draw(s) haven't been kind to Belgian clubs. In future a bit more luck, like all those soft draws that Holland has been getting, wouldn't go amiss.

Antwerp losing their head in the qualis has proven to be quite damaging at the end of the group stage. AZ took 8 points home (11.5 including the games before their win over Antwerp) and has given Holland's coefficient a 1.6 lead over Belgium's this season. Had Antwerp kept their cool instead, Belgium could have very well regained the ground lost in the two previous seasons (0.3 in 2018 and 0.8 in 2019 = 1.1).

Holland could overtake Belgium in the rankings sooner rather than later. Better start getting results. Let's see how Gent and Brugge fare next.

Ajax and AZ aren't so good last weeks. Don't expect too much..

Unlucky, as usual. Let's see which Man Utd shows up in February. And who knows maybe Roma will underestimate Gent. Rough draw for both Belgian clubs. Shouldn't lack motivation. Upsets, always lovely when they happen. Fingers crossed.

Manchester United is improving week by week. Won't be easy.

Let's hope our Belgian teams do a perfect job :)

What can you tell me about Merveille Bakadi (Standard) Sulayman Marreh (KAS) and Mathieu Maertens (OH Leuven)

Sulayman Marreh isn't first choice in KAS Eupen. He will stay at rate 80. Jens Cools and Omid Ebrahimi are at the moment first choice.

Merveille Bope Bokadi is injured for a long time now. Laifis and Vanheusden are a lot better options as centre back and Cimirot is pretty important this season as defensive midfielder. His comeback is unknown and there is a possibility he will lose his rate (82 --> 80). Still early to predict a downgrade, but it won't be easy for a comeback in the team of Standard Liège.

Mathieu Maertens is playing in 2nd division in Belgium. He plays a lot and there is a little (!) chance he will rise. Still I think that Maertens isn't good enough for our 1st division in Belgium.

Can you name strong and weakest points from AS Roma this season in your opinion ?

This season Roma has a coach that gave mentality and cohesion to a group that last year had several problems.

The team has several quality players: Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Mkhytarian, Under, Kluivert give great assist to Dzeko and different solutions to the coach.

Is not so good with defensive midfielders, where Veretout is doing well, and Diawara took the other spot, but Cristante (currently injured is more an offensive midfielder, or for a place in a 4-3-3, not a defensive ones in a 4-2-3-1

In defense as well they have some problems: Kolarov and Smalling are doing really well, and Mancini better than what I thought, but on the right they haven't a starter:

- Fonseca doesn't see Florenzi in that position (should go on loan in january)

- Spinazzola played originally in a more offensive position, but always on the left, is only adapted there

- Santon is not good enough for them

- Zappacosta brokes ACL in october, should come back to Chelsea in january

Just looking for some under the radar players really.

Remember signing Victor Wanyama when he moved from Beerschot to Celtic - looking to pick up a player half as decent. 😂
