Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

Former PL referee Clive Wilkes said: “I keep in touch with a lot of the lads and there is such a strength of feeling about what is happening to Mark.

“I know a few referees who are even talking about boycotting Chelsea games because of all this.

“Remember, it’s not the first time Chelsea have targeted a referee — there’s been Anders Frisk and Graham Poll.

“And some refs are now saying enough is enough.”

Wilkes, 57, from Gloucester, added: “It’s no exaggeration to say the refs in this country have never felt lower.

“They are so disillusioned. They feel vulnerable, feel that they are being left isolated — that they are getting no backing, no support.

“They want to speak out themselves but are too frightened, they fear they will be sacked if they go public with their grievances.

“There have even been murmurings about strike action but that’s very much the last resort.

“They’d much prefer to get around the table with the FA, PFA, the clubs and players to sort this out as quickly as possible.”

If, as expected, this is to prove yet another case of sour grapes by Chelsea, then the FA and higher authorities need to throw the book at them.

Never known a club and its players to have so little class.

Fotrunately the football world is beginning to take note.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-2-3-1 formation:

1 Petr Cech ©

28 Cesar Azpilicueta

2 Branislav Ivanovic

24 Gary Cahill

3 Ashley Cole

6 Oriol Romeu

12 John Mikel Obi

13 Victor Moses

11 Oscar

17 Eden Hazard

9 Fernando Torres

Substitutes: 22 Ross Turnbull, 19 Paulo Ferreira, 34 Ryan Bertrand, 7 Ramires, 21 Marko Marin, 35 Lucas Piazon, 23 Daniel Sturridge.

Interesting team sheet, particuarly with Romeu's inclusion.

Pleased to see Moses given a chance, he played well against United.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

Thought we well deserved our point, think we had more chances and deserved our equaliser. We were solid defensively and unfortunate to concede and it would have been very hard on us not to get anything.

I thought you really did miss Luis and Terry today, Ivanovic is not as good centrally and Aziplecueta was poor whilst Ashley Cole was terrible and couldn't handle Hernandez whilst Gary Cahill wasn't particularly good either. Thought you missed Juan Mata as well, he might have made the sort of difference that Hernandez did for us.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

Chelsea have today announced that the fan who was caught on TV allegedly making 'monkey' gestures toward Danny Welbeck has been banned from SB until the investigation is complete.

That is nice of them.

Very easy to ban 'joe public' - but it is another matter when it is your captain eh lads:rolleyes:

Chelsea have taken up their option to purchase Fluminense right-back Wallace for €5.5 million' date='

Wallace, 18, has seen 40% of his economic rights owned by the Blues since August 2010, when a portion of his ownership was transferred as part of the deal that took Deco to the Brazilian side. [/quote']

Bout time it was completed.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

It hasn't completed... there's nothing on Chelsea's official site yet.

Where did you read that?

http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/38338_chelsea_complete_signing_of_full-back_wallace_-_report.html

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8231794/Chelsea-are-reported-to-be-closing-in-on-a-deal-for-Brazilian-starlet-Wallace

Ovbiously i don't think it's fully completed as i doubt he's had his medical yet.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread

Thanks for the links.

But, it doesn't look like it's anywhere near to being completed, although it'd be nice if he joined.

Pleased with the starting line up and bench. Hopefully the boys can dig deep and get the three points :).
