Help Raise Funds For CHSS

Recommended Posts

This thread has been added with kind permission from SM. (thanks Teb)

About this thread.

UKFSC is a free to play "Fantasy Soccer" site which is run on behalf of the Chest,Heart & Stroke charity. Hopefully visitors to the UKFSC site will make a kind donation to the CHSS charity. (via a link on the UKFSC home page).

UKFSC is easy, you just select a club and follow their progress in real-life matches. All details in the UKFSC Blog (via link on UKFSC homepage)

Tell us what club you have, you may be playing each other in the next match, for example. Go to www.ukfsc.club to register - its free (one club per email address) Any Questions to: info@ukfsc.club (not here, thanks)

Thanks to SM and TEB for allowing UKFSC on the forum.

Help UKFSC to raise funds for the CHSS cause. In doing so, helps us to keep stroke units open and to buy scanners etc.

THANKS

Re: Ukfsc

Let us know What club you have and Who do you play this weekend. ?

Example, I'm NEWCASTLE in Group 1A (I took the random club option)

I play DUNDEE 1A this weekend, Dundee 1A are managed by an SM member.

Interesting cos Aston Villa v Newcastle in real-life & Livingston v Dundee

(I Don't fancy my chances here, but you never know with UKFSC)

Good luck!! :)

Re: Help Raise Funds For CHSS

STROKES can happen to anyone at any age.

I saw a documentary on TV (UK) about EDWYN COLLINS (Lead singer with band ORANGE JUICE)

You can visit his MYSPACE page to find out exactly what happened and what he is doing to recover.

(Click link below to view)

http://www.myspace.com/wwwmyspacecomedwyncollins

AMAZING RECOVERY TO DATE, CONSIDERING THAT HE HAD A BLEED ON TOP OF HIS STROKE. (he couldn't read, write, talk, walk, after it)

So, kind donations help EVERYONE to recover thru PHYSIO, SCANNERS etc.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

PS I sent EDWYN an email asking if its possible to put the DOCUMENTARY onto his Myspace page - I'll post here what he says.

EDWYN REPLIED SAYING THAT HE HOPES TO ADD THE FOOTAGE SOON.

YOU CAN VIEW EDWYN'S SITE AT

www.edwyncollins.com

Re: Help Raise Funds For CHSS

HERE'S THE LATEST ON EDWYN COLLINS:

As previously mentioned, he couldn't read, write, talk or walk after his STROKE.

He's been an inspiration to me. (me being a Stroke victim myself).

He fought back and thru hard work got to play "live" again.

Here's EDWYN playing at GLASTONBURY 2008.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2008/artists/edwyncollins/

Great to see him on stage again

Hope you enjoyed the footage.

So, kind donations help EVERYONE to recover thru PHYSIO, SCANNERS etc.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

THANKS!!

Re: Help Raise Funds For CHSS

some of you may know that I'm a STROKE victim and support the Chest, Heart & Stroke charity thru my website at UKFSC.

I started UKFSC to keep my brain active - thru the early difficult days of my Stroke - while learning to speak & walk again.

I hope you find this video of interest.

KIND DONATIONS HELPED ME TO RECOVER TO THE STAGE I'M AT JUST NOW AND COULD HELP OTHERS IN THE FUTURE.
