Dortmund pick up first three of the season!

Borussia Dortmund 3-2 Hansa Rostock

"Last night, Louis Mattis's Dortmund side picked up there first three points of the season, a full 30,000 turned up at the Ostseestadion ground to watch the sides play, Dortmund always had the game as the dominated 52% of the possession and having 10 out of 19 shots on target, Alexander FREI should of took the lead for Dortmund 4 minutes in, but his 4 yard effort flew over the bar, and Dortmund were mde to pay for that as they went 1-0 on 15 minutes through Reinaldo NAVIA shooting from a acute angle and his shot getting deflected into the net, and Dortmund though the game was over 7 minutes laster as Hansa Rostock went 2-0 through Almeida ALEX DIAS, skipping past his marker, and belting a 25 yard shot into the net. But Dortmund fought hard and they were rewarded on 15 minutes thanks to Alexander FREI who had yards of space and made no mistake from 15 yards, but the teams went in at half time with Hansa Rostock, Mattis must of gave the team a good talking at half time as Dortmund came out in the second half the better side and on 50 minutes, Dortmund leveled the score through Denny LANDZAAT poking the ball into the net after a goal mouth scramble, with the game looking to head for a draw, one team needed some magic, and Dortmund got that on 71 minutes when Alexander FREI was clean through on the goal and finished easily from 4 yards.

Chelsea Update

chelsea.gif

Since taking over Chelsea, Jewiss has been very busy, in the transfer market, at the beginning of the season, Nick Justice was Chelsea manager, but there has been rumours that Nick was acting under Jewiss all the time, and it came as no suprise, that Jewiss, whos credentials include managing, Barcelona, Gillingham and little known Sittingbourne. When appointed as coach, Jewiss had this to say, 'well of course i am pleased to be formally appointed as coach, and i feel that i will take this club to places that could only have been dreamt of, i had a very good welcoming from the fans, and i am happy because of this'.

Chelsea have been very busy in the transfer market, mainly outgoing players for cash only, Jewiss said he had nothing to do with this and that he would have preferred to keep them players and use them in player exchange deals, but he said 'to be honest im not to fussed, as we have got enough players in positions to still maintain a challenge for the title, mainly the players which were sold, were players which probably would not have featured.'

So far this season at Chelsea, they have seen the following players leave; Cudicini for 1.1million, Hilario for 1.5million, Pizarro for 9.5million, Ben Haim for 7.1million and Ivanovic for 2.0 million + Upson. Jewiss said he was disappointed at seeing Ben Haim and Ivanovic go, but says, 'sometimes in management you get different judgements, and Nick must have seen that these were not needed, whereas i would have loved to see them here this season.'

However in conterary we have also brought in players, which will not necessarily, get into the 1st team, but could be good to sign and use in other deals in the future as they improve, one of the signings which Nick made, was Woodgate for 5.0 million + Makelele, Jewiss said it was a good deal as Chelsea have young Mikel to take Maka's place. Since then Jewiss has also signed, Angelo from Cruzeiro for 6million, as he can play in RB position and he is a young player, and most definitely for the future, Jewiss has said he is pleased that he has signed for the blues. Dani Gullien from Castilla has also joined, he is also a young player for the future, and although Jewiss doesnt expect the supporters to see him play this season, he is certainly one for the future. I also decided to bring ANdrew Crofts in to the squad, he is certainly Gillinghams best player for the past few seasons and i am sure better clubs will come looking for him, and he will most definitely go up in his rating. Michael Modubi, has aldo joined us back from Westerlo, Chelsea let him go in the summaer but decided to bring him back in, as Jewiss thinks he will undoubtebly improve.

So far this season Cjelsea have picked up 4 points at the moment, a draw with Wigan and a win against Stevie's Arsenal.

Chelsea v Wigan key moments- Result 1-1

17: GOAL!! - Florent MALOUDA hits a powerfull right foot shot into the onion bag! He'll be proud of that one!

29: GOAL!! - Kevin KILBANE caresses in a curling shot! What technique!

46: An easy chance by Emile HESKEY goes begging

74: A 35-yard scorcher is punched over by Chris KIRKLAND

Chelsea v Arsenal- Result 1-0 Chelsea- Key moments

23: BOOKED - Theo WALCOTT takes out his man with his forearm and results in a yellow card

36: GOAL!! - Surely offside! But the flag stays down and Frank LAMPARD races through and takes full advantage of the dubious decision!

61: One of the best chances of the half goes begging as Emmanuel ADEBAYOR fails to follow up on the rebound

Dortmund go fourth!

Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Energie Cottbus

Louis Matti's Borussia Dortmund picked up there second win in two games tonight, beating Energie Cottbus 2-1 at the Stadion der Freundschaft, Dortmund dominated shots and posssession, and they started the better side, hitting the bar on 5 minutes through Leonardo DEDE, But Cottbus could of gone 1-0 if it wasnt for Roman WEIDENFELLER tipping a fantastic freekick around the bar, but it didnt take long for Dortmund to take the lead, and on 19 minutes, Leonardo DEDE finally got what he deserved, a out swinging corner, headed powerfully into the back of the net, and Dortmund should of been 2-0 on 26 minutes, but Mladen PETRIC had his hands in his hand as he missed a open goal and a great chance, the teams went in at half time, with Dortmund being 1-0 up, and Dortmund started the better side, Mladen PETRIC making up for his earlier mistake as he slammed the ball past the advancing keeper, Cottbus did pull one back on 65 minutes, Ervin SKELA skipping past two defenders, and slotting the ball neatly past the Dortmund keeper. But it wasnt enough as Dortmund now move up to fourth in the table, and face a tough game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night.

Fiorentina 2 - 3 Palermo

Winston's Florence team gave him a real cause for being annoyed last night after his Fiorentina slipped up after an impressive start to the season.

The Welshman was disappointed as his team did not appear to turn up to the match and looked lethargic and uninterested which angered Winston throughout.

Saying that, Fiorentina did have the majority of shots with most of them hitting the target but the majority were from 35 yards or more and were straight at Palermo Goal Keeper Alberto Fontana.

Winston was less than happy at his teams seemingly lack of ability to break the Palermo defense down on so many occasions.

He said in an interview that the goals that they did score were undeserved which may seem a little harsh but He said, "We will improve by the next match, I can guarantee that".

The match started with both teams passing the ball around without really testing the other defenses. Fiorentina were resorting to long distance shooting and Palermo just could not find a killer pass.

The deadlock was broken just 3 minutes before the half time whistle through a volley from Roberto Guana, in which was probably deserved as Palermo showed more attacking quality. The goal gave Palermo a 1-0 half time lead.

_44236116_palermo_roberto-guana416.jpg

(Guana, seen above against Inter, scored the opener for Palermo)

After the break, Fiorentina needed to step up a gear but were not looking like doing so, saying this, they did equalize 8 minutes into the second half when Adrian Mutu neatly lost his marker and fired a low shot past Fontana.

This was a rare occasion when Fiorentina tried to pass the ball in an advanced area and it payed off with a goal.

4974.jpg

(Mutu scored a good goal to equalize for Fiorentina)

The match stayed level for just 6 minutes as Palermo took the lead again after the Fiorentina defense seemed to lose concentration and allow Fabrizio Miccoli to latch onto the end of a through ball and confidently place it past Sebastian Frey.

Winston was angry on the touchline and was warned by the referee for using foul language.

7688.jpg

(Miccoli gave Palermo the lead again on 59 minutes)

Fiorentina reacted with slightly positive play and went lose on two occasions with no result.

The players were getting more and more anxious and were diving into challenges which was not going un-punished by the referee who gave out several yellow cards.

Winston's team did get themselves on level terms on 74 minutes through Mario Santana's majestic header from a corner.

7277.jpg

(Mario Santana equalized for Fiorentina making it 2-2)

The Fiorentina defense went to sleep again, just 3 minutes after they equalized and Palermo capitalized with Bosko Jankovic netting to give Palermo a 3-2 win.

Winston was sent to the stand after the Palermo third goal for going crazy on his own players and he really laid into them about their commitment, or lack of.

New manager at the helm of Fc Schalke 04

Schalke brings in Liam Wilder after his successful start of the season with Division 3 Leicester City, guiding them to 2 wins and a draw.

He had to say:

I can't believe a top class side wanted to sign me, they have many great players, fans and a brilliant stadium. We have to bring in some more players to add depth all over the field and i think the money i have been given (51million) is enough. There are some players that are going to stay and some may leave but i want to keep every one. They only have 3 points out of a possibility of 9 which isn't great but we can work on it, and we play Bayern Munich which i expect we won't beat them.

Napoli 2 - 3 Fiorentina

Fiorentina scrape through again

Fiorentina have picked up their third win in Serie A this season with a narrow victory in Naples tonight. Their Welsh manager was pleased that his team fought until the end and kept going to grind out a result, he went on to say, "We had more of the ball and deserved something out of the game, my players have been working hard in training and I am impressed with the progress that they have made. We will be up the top of the League at the end of the season if they give this much commitment".

REPORT:

Napoli took the lead in the 14th minute through their impressive youngster Ezequiel Lavezzi, he casually rolled the ball into the net with no defender in sight, poor marking by Fiorentina.

The lead lasted 15 minutes as Fiorentina pressed forwards and were rewarded when Giampaolo Pazzini's rocket of a shot thundered into the corner of the net to make the score 1-1.

Napoli hit straight back and retook the lead as Lavezzi was left in acres of space and finished well. The Fiorentina defenders were non-existent in both of Napoli's goals and Winston will be looking to improve on this in the coming weeks.

Controversy followed as Napoli's Maurizio Domizzi was harshly sent off for clearly diving, this left Napoli a man down, trying to hold on was the main aim for them now.

Napoli were made to pay for the stupidity of Domizzi as just as the referee was about to blow his whistle for half time Mario Santana latched onto a defense splitting pass and rifled the ball home off the post.

Half time score was 2-2.

(Lavezzi netted twice for Napoli in the first half)

7277.jpg7280.jpg

(Mario Santana and Giampaolo Pazzini leveled the match twice in the first half for Fiorentina)

The second half was dominated by Fiorentina as they worked to make the extra man count, they wasted numerous chances that they should have put away but didn't, they were almost made to pay when Lavezzi almost scored his hatrick and would of if it was not for Sebastian Frey.

From that save, Frey pumped a long kick upfield in which Adrian Mutu latched onto and smashed into the roof of the net giving his team a late 3-2 victory.
