Re: Lionel Messi Just seen that one also m8

Re: 99 for Messi? Off topic. Saw this in Game today and it made me laugh cause he looks really camp doing that pose with his little Wii-mote, almost sexual look in his eyes and the long hair

Re: Leo Messi?

In the Gerrard Xavi comparison - Xavi, although he looks as though he has fantastic playmaking abilities etc etc bring him to the Premier League and he wouldn't be anywhere near as effective. He would be still class don't get me wrong, but I think it's difficult to compare two players playing in different leagues.

On SM ratings, I think Xavi and Gerrard would be fair to have the same rating - 97 due to Xavi's performances in the Euro's etc

Messi and Ronaldo (as much as I hate to say it) both deserve 98 as they are both world class.

Ronaldo 98

Messi 98

Kaka 97

Gerrard 97

Xavi 97

Eto'o 97

Lampard 96

Drogba 95

Maicon 95

Dani Alves 95

Agree with the 96 of Lampard if Iniesta gets it as well. Drogba should be a 94.

Yeah I forgot to mention Iniesta actually, both of them deserve 96 I agree. Drogba probably did a few weeks/months ago but hes revitalised under Hiddink and getting back to his best. Chelsea look a completely different side with him back to form and Essien back. Only down to 95 for me, although as you say he could well be deserved of a 94 if you compare him with the likes of Kanoute etc.

Re: Leo Messi?

Hi guys,

I have just deleted a few threads attacking people based on their location, and also for making stereotypical assumptions. Don't get me wrong i'm not all PC but try and keep on topic without throwing insults at one another as this only derails the topics and turns it into a slanging match.

Re: Leo Messi?

Wow' date=' you really don't like English forumers do you?[/quote']

Nope, he was just being sarcastic because of previous experiences with that particular forumer.

I definitely agree that Lionel Messi deserves and increase to 98, because in my opinion, he IS the best player in the world. He never fails to perform and even in his worst game which he has, he does something eye catching. I would definitely have him on par with Cristiano Ronaldo any day.

The same as Xavi and Iniesta. I have made this point time and time again but these two players are truly the best midfielders in the world. The chemistry which the two have between because of their partnership in Barca as well as Spain and because of their true passing, vision, creativity and dribbling ability. The pair have everything which is required for an effective midfielder. I think Xavi should be kept at the same rating as Steven Gerrard.

And talking about Iniesta.....: The Spain national team is the best in the world right? And Iniesta is part of the Euro winning midfield, and therefore he should be considered than Fabregas who is also rated 95 right? It's only fair if you place Iniesta to 96 as he IS better than Fabregas - No doubt.

No one can really say that the La Liga isn't as good as the EPL as truthfully, nobody knows. The information they provide are just opinions, no facts and therefore you cannot really say that the EPL is better than the La Liga or Vice Versa. But you can compare the team's status and Barcelona are regarded as one of the, if not the best team in the world. Lionel Messi to 98, Xavi to 97 and Iniesta to 96.

So Messi to 98 (on par with Ronaldo), Xavi to 97 (on par with Gerrard) and Iniesta to 96 (better than Fabregas)? I'd agree with that.

It is hard to compare the two leagues, but head-to-head in recent years has shown English teams to be on top. Still a tough call though - I reckon Barcelona could prove a stumbling block for the English clubs in the Cl.

It's always tough comparing the leagues. But if you look at players on individual merit, then I'd say Messi, Xavi and Iniesta all getting a +1 is easily fair and the right move.

Re: Leo Messi?

B stands for Barclays. And no I'm not bitter about the result...

Still' date=' if I remember correctly, we beat Swindon and Leeds at home earlier this season, and we didn't need a couple of penalties to do it :P[/quote']

Ah. I thought you were calling it the British Premier League or something.:P

Put it this way, Swindon don't win often these days, so when they do it's important to rub it in. ;) They'll still go down though. :o

It's typical. I finally decide not to go to a Swindon match, and they go and win on me.

Haha, anyway, back to Messi. :)

S'pose you have to. 6 games without a win for you, 8 wins out of 10 for us and we still lost. Helped your goal difference though so you might stay up.

And yes, back to Messi. +1 to 98. Case closed. :)
