Re: English Championship 3

Boston United 2 - 0 Rushden & Diamonds

Boston continue their good form with a comfortable home win over Rushden.

A Magnus Kallander double in the space of two minutes ( 31 & 33 ), was enough to give United their 3rd win of the season and lift them to a respectable 5th place.

They are now only 1 point off a promotion spot.

Boston News:

Boston are currently 8th in division 4 after 10 games, still hopeful we can gain promotion and move up.

Still in debt, balance of -878k :(

Yuri, I think you were interested in Eusebio Di Francesco. I could sell him to you for a small amount of money and one or two of your youth players if you like? :)

Face unmanaged Luton Town tonight, few players out due to injury right now which doesn't help with only 18 or 19 players, but hope to win.

I was indeed interested in him George, but I got some cheap old players and don't need him anymore :)

By the way, the curse strikes back!

Haunted by Magdalena Sakoman's Ipswich, Yuri Laszlo lost, again, his battle.

Defeated by 2 goals, without scoring any, PLymouth will try to get back on the winning path tonight.

Re: English Championship 3

Boston United 2 - 1 Luton Town

A close away game for Boston, but they dominated possession.

The 1st half saw no goals but plenty of action, Marcus Stewart somehow missing a tap in.

However, the 2nd half started as quick as possible, Enoch Showunmi's header sending Luton into the lead.

2mins later ( 48mins ) though, Carlos Pinto was clear on goal after some excellent passing, and he made no mistake levelling the scores.

Then on 49mins, almost straight after the equaliser, Leon Britton finished at the second attempt with a toe-poke.

So with Luton desperately trying to get an equaliser, they got frustrated late on, shown when Keith Keane made no attempt to get the ball and was sent off.

This win moves Boston up to 6th in division 4, now only 3 points off top spot.

Re: English Championship 3

Forumers' games review - brought to you by SM Review Maker.

Plymouth Argyle 4 x 1 Burnley

Yuri's Plymouth used the home factor as advantage, and in 47 minutes had scored 3 goals already, giving Danny William's team only the option to surrender.

Huddersfield Town 0 x 0 Barnsley

Playing away from home, Newman's Barnsley couldn't brake Huddersfield's solid defense. Although having a good defensive system, the home team's poor attacks didn't scare Newman's keeper.

Luton Town 1 x 2 Boston United

In a match where George's Boston put pressure from the start to the end, just 3 minutes were enough to seal the result. Opening the score, Luton Town made one goal at the 46th minute, but in a quick reaction, Boston put 2 balls in the back of Luton's net in the follow 2 minutes, amazing!

Bristol Rovers 1 x 1 Liverpool

Maybe this round's surprise this game was. Although playing at home, who would've guessed that Bobo's bristol would stop names like van Persie or Tevez? Bristol even started ahead of Liverpool, with Rada scoring at the first minute, but thanks to Gerrard, both teams received 1 point.

Derby County 1 x 2 Charlton Athletic

With a powerful reaction after losing 3 games in a row, Adam's Charlton paid a visit to Derby and crushed the oponents. With 4 times more shots at the goal, beating Derby County wasn't hard. Coming from a 0-1 Figo and Aguero defined the result. 3rd victory in 3 games for Adam now.

Shorpe United 1 x 1 Cheltenham Town

Not knowing what defeat is for 6 games, Lee Bradbury's Cheltenham played simple, and just tied an easy game. Gane scored Cheltenham only goal. Even with the draw, Lee's team sits in 2nd place now on the 4th Division.

Peterborough United 0 x 1 Doncaster Rovers

With both teams living the same situation, Nav's Doncaster went to London Road with only one thoughtat their minds - victory. And after a huge effort, McIndoe scored the goal that took Doncaster up to 13th place.

Grimsby Town 1 x 2 Norwich City

After a good season, when fought with Plymouth for promotion, Neller's Grimbsy seems a little fragile this year. Playing at home, Grimbsy Town couldn't stop a dominant Norwich City, that, with 30 minutes, was already ahead by 2 goals. Sitting on 12th , Grimbsy will fight against relegation, not for promotion, this time.

Southampton 2 x 2 Ipswich Town

On a disputated match, Magdalena's Ipswich did what they could to win, but the draw was more than just, and it wasn't a good result for both teams. Ipswich is 5th on the 2nd Division, one place ahead of Plymouth.

Coventry City 2 x 2 Oxford United

For the 4th time in 6 game, Fraser's Oxford went to Coventry trying to succed, but just managed to draw the match. With all the goals happening in the first half, Oxfrod players were happy with the result, and will try to win for the first time in 1 month at the next game.

Everton 6 x 2 Portsmouth

Don't be fooled by the score. This was a very disputated mtach, until the 10th minute. After suffering 2 goals in 2 minutes, Felix's Portsmouth managed to draw the game, but they stopped there. Unstoppable were Raul and Van der Vaart, that score 2 goals each, and were key players on this game.

Hull City 1 x 1 Stoke City

After taking over Stoke City, manager teje went to Hull City to play against the local team. Although Stoke received pressure from Hull City during the entire match, at minute 58 Faye made the ball pass trough Hull's defense and keep, Doni. 2 minutes later, unfortunately, Hull drew the match. Stoke, unbeaten for 6 games, are 9th on the 2nd Division.

Leyton Orient 2 x 1 Swindon Town

Bryan is having a hard time on the 4th Division with Swindon. Sitting in 15th, they had to win against Leyton Orient. The game wasn't easy tho, and Leyton struggled to beat Swindon at their home. After scoring the 2nd goal, Leyton players relaxed, and Swindon made their goal at the 58th minute, but to no avail

Bristol City 4 x 1 Tranmere Rovers

Kevin D's Tranmere aren't lucky at all. They went to Bristol, looking for a victory, but, what they found was Erjon Bogdani inspired to score. Although playing at their home, Bristol suffered pression from Tranmere all the time, and, luckly, the 4 shots at the target they had went in. On an unfair game, Lady Luck sealed Tranmere's defeat.

West Bromwich Albion 2 x 2 Manchester United

Just like Bristol, WBA were expected to lose this game. Although playing at their home, Raz' team had against them twice the number of shots at goal they produced, and had to come from the back two times to draw the match.

Middlesbrough 1 x 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Dominating the game since it's start, Wolfcatt's Wolves scored their first goal at the 2nd minute of play, and paciently waited for Middlesbrough's attacks to counter attack and maybe scoring another one. Middlesbrough did attack, and tied the game at the 35th minute. It didn't scre Wolves tho, who, 10 minutes after the start of the second half, scored the last goal of the match, winning their first in 6 games.

Bradford City 1 x 0 Watford

Ona very disputated game, both teams tried to break each other's defense, but couldn't...until the 50th minute, when - to tim g's sadness - Bradford City used the moment to start a counter attack that resulted in the game's only goal. Watford are now 19th in the 3rd Division, and will struggle to continue in it at the net season.

Wolves News

Wolfcatt's first game in charge last night resulted in Wolves returning from Teeside with all three points. Goals from Mineiro & Kenny Miller secured a 2-1 victory.

Today Wolfcatt confirmed the signing of James Harper for £3.6mil from Reading. He also confirmed that he had agreed terms with the highly experienced goalkeeper Andres Reinke and the young Portuguese forward Yannik Djalo. Both players were picked up as free agents.

Cheltenham 2-2 Northampton

Lee Bradbury will be feeling slightly relieved to see his team come back from a 2 goal deficit to draw 2-2 at home, and keep the unbeaten run and the promotion push going.

After ending the first half 1-0 down to a Ivan Saenko tap-in, Bradbury wanted his troops to come flying out of the traps in the 2nd half. But those plans suffered a setback when Cheltenham went 2-0 down after 5 minutes, thanks to a good finish from Ian Taylor. But the difference lasted 2 minutes, when Kayode Odejayi hit a brilliant curling shot. And another 2 minutes later, it was 2-2, when Sylvain Wiltord hit an absolute scorcher into the net.

Both teams then tried to grab the winner, but it never came. Cheltenham drop 2 places to 4th, while Northampton remain 13th.

Lee Bradbury told Pie Sports News 'It was close, but the lads showed exactly what we need in order to go up - a bit of heart, a bit of skill, and a lot of luck. We're enjoying this season, and playing well, so let's hope this carries on for the rest of the season, and we go up. Let's just say I'm optimistic about forthcoming events.

Re: English Championship 3

Yuri mate, great reviews, and dont worry about the last set, everyone has school work :)

It seems my valiant efforts of keeping charlton in the premiership last year might be pointless, as this years points total suggest although recent form can reassure fans and johnson that Charlton with a few more players could be mid table quality.

Re: English Championship 3

Yesterday Reviews.

West Ham United 0 x 2 Charlton Athletic

What an impressive game! Playing away from their home, Adam's Charlton showed their true potential yesterday. With a great performe of the latin players, Aguero and Cardozo scored the goals.

Bristol Rovers 3 x 2 Portsmouth

Bobo's Rovers put pressure on Portsmouth from the beginnig until the end of the match and, after suffering a goal on the 10th minute, went full attacking and scored 3 goals to seal their home win.

West Bromwich Albion 1 x 1 Chelsea

Holding the pressure of Chelsea's midfield, Raz' WBA achieved a nice result for yesterdays match, a 1-1 draw against one of the best teams in the premiership.

Middlesbrough 1 x 2 Burnley

Danny Williams clearly deposits all his confidence in Burnley striker Craig Fagan, and he does not let him down. For the 3 game in a row, Fagan is the only player to score for Burnley, this time scoring the two goals that gave to Danny the victory.

Leeds United 3 x 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolfcatt's effort wasn't enough to prevent Wolves defeat ay Leeds, against a defensive Leeds United. Until the 75th minute, Wolverhampton as ahed on the score, but in two minutes Leeds sowed some reaction and turned the result to their favor.

Plymouth Argyle 1 x 0 Cardiff City

It seems that Yuri has foundthe winning formation, after a serie of defeats. Plymouth's 4th vicory in came at Home Park against the weak Cardiff City, with Nicolas Frutos scoring the winner goal. This result takes Plymouth up to 4th Place in the 2nd Division. Will Plymouth join Bristol as the first 2 clubs to get 2 consecutive promotions to reach the first division?

A.F.C. Bournemouth 0 x 0 Doncaster Rovers

Playing away from their home, this result wasn't bad at all for Nav, who's trying to get back on the winning way. Doncaster still have chances to be promoted, but for now Nav's main target will be getting a mid place in the 3rd Division.

Grimsby Town 0 x 0 Oxford United

The clash of giants! What a game this one was! After starting in fron, with a goal scored at the 15th minute, Neller's Grimbsy scored another one on the 53th, but they couldn't stop Fraser's strong attack, who wake up after suffering the second goal, and scored 2 in 3 minutes. Both teams are fighting for promotion to the 2nd division.

Reading 2 x 4 Stoke City

Teje's anility as managers shows that under his control, Stoke City can, and will, fight for a promotion to the 1st Division. Playing away, they have managed to beat the fierce Reading by 2 goals of difference on a match where Stoke were unstoppable.

Leicester City 2 x 0 Watford

Not a big surprise here. TIm's Watford couldn't do nothing to stop Leicester powerful attacks, and the result was as fair as it could be. Watford will try to win some points in their next game, and Tim, maybe, should try some variations of his favorite formation to see if the team plays better.

Preston North End 2 x 0 Tranmere Rovers

in a very close match, Kevin D's Tranmere tried, and tried, and tried, but Preston's defense always stopped their attacks. Ans, while attacking, Tranmere's fragile defense couldn't avoid Preston counter-attacks, that resulted in 2 goals for the home team.

Gillingham 0 x 4 Swindon Town

Byan's Swindon Town didn't ahve any problems to beat Gillingham, and they did it with class. A victory that maintains Bryans hopes to get a promotion.

Walsall 0 x 4 Cheltenham Town

Finally a good result for Lee! Since is first game in control of Cheltenham, this 4-0 victory was just what Lee neeed to prove his ability as manager, that, hopelfully, will help him to take Cheltenham to the 3rd Division.

Re: English Championship 3

Things get worse for Boston as Eusebio Di Francesco announces that he will retire at the end of the season.

That now means that Boston look likely to start next season with only 16 players - yes 16

The squad of 18 players, have 2 retiring at the end of the season, and with a few more oldies, more could be yet to come.

Stay tuned for the next episode of ' Crisis Boston '
