Eljero Elia and Christian Eriksen signs for West Ham

Eriksen: Set to erase the disappointment of losing out on Pastore.

West Ham have signed young stalwarts Christian Eriksen and Eljero Elia from Reading in a deal which saw Portuguese defender Pepe depart Upton Park. 18-year-old attacking midfielder Eriksen is touted by many to be a future star and the Danish international will provide competition for current playmakers Facundo Bertoglio and Toni Kroos.

23-year-old pacey winger is expected to bolster the flanks of an already strong squad. Along with Alexis Sanchez and Jeremy Menez, the Hammers now boast one of the most promising line-up on the wings in Division 1.

The capture of the duo will delight fans, after the club narrowly missed out on the signing of Javier Pastore, while talks for Ibrahim Afellay, Claudio Marchisio, Serdar Tasci and Luis Suarez also broke down.

Meanwhile, West Ham are also reportedly in talks for Cameroonian midfielder Alex Song, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and 20-year-old wunderkid Eden Hazard.

Eden Hazard arrives as Guardado and Gignac depart Upton Park

eden-hazard-2.jpg

West Ham manager Caleb has finally landed his man after a 6 month pursuit.

20-year-old Belgium winger Eden Hazard has joined West Ham in a massive deal which saw striker Andre Pierre Gignac and Mexican wide-man Andres Guardado head the other way to Manchester City.

West Ham coach Caleb has been chasing the signature of Hazard for months before finally being able to reach a deal with the City gaffer on the valuation of Hazard.

Eden Hazard is expected to compete with Alexis Sanchez, Jeremy Menez and Eljero Elia for the two wing spots on Caleb's preferred 3-5-2 formation. The signing of the Lille academy graduate is also likely to pave the way for Hungarian midfielder Balázs Dszudszak to leave Upton Park should a right offer be sent in.

Re: English Championship 1

Nice to see some managers posting on the thread! :)

Caleb; I tried to reward your "work" with rep but I have to spread the love around first so please forgive but I will try to remember. :P

On a side note, I've been crying tears of blood. lol

As Colin knows, I have attempted to sign Hazard on many many occasions over the last 5 seasons, even offered my missus in 1 deal from memory!:D

Anyway, obviously I suck at negotiating or have been hanging out with Teb too long and become a bit stingey!:o

But credit goes to you Caleb for raising the stakes and tempting the most coveted of players away from Col. Hopefully, the transfers will aid both teams and managers.

Well done! B)

Re: English Championship 1

Think that is it :D

Like i said the offer was too good for me to turn down after such a poor season.

What?? Errrrr Teb, you're ruining my team!!!:D:p

Fair enough Col, looks like a good deal on paper ... that is, until Hazard moves to Arsenal and takes the EPL by storm and then moves to Barca for 100M to replace the ageing Xavi and form a the world's most feared attack, partnership the one and only Messi(ah)!!! :D

Thanks Herby, don't worry I'm not bothered about rep :) Sorry on your fruitless chase of Hazard, ah well one man's loss is another man's gain unfortunately.

I was hitting a brick wall too with negotiations for him until i saw Col bidding for my Muller with Hazard so I guessed he needed a Forward. :)

My young wingers are now the pride of my West Ham.

Re: English Championship 1

It looks as if the Brazilian ratings are done and that Victor will remain at 89 - this means i'm happy to play him in the 1st team.

This means that for all the parties who are interested in Maarten Stekelenburg (who may or may not be Manchester Utd's replacement for Edwin Van Der Sar and therefore may or may not one day reach the 94/95 level of VDS) i can now let him go :)

After my end of season panic buys in a deperate attempt to reach D1 i am pretty skint so am thinking this will be a straight auction - highest cash bid will get him.

Not really interested in p/ex unless it's an exceptional deal.

RAMIRES RETURNS

Ramires_.jpg

A old favourite is of the Blue Army Santos Ramires is set to return to Brunton Park after his employers rejected bids from two other high profile clubs. The Brazilian International has spent four seasons away from Cumbria but in his first season with the club he made a immediate impact. The 23 year old had his most successful season to date when at the Blues notching up 6 goals and 3 assists in 23 appearences and has stated his ambition to even better this time around.

Dave Ja Vu As Bolton Accept Ramires Bid.

The Brazilian International has completed his transfer from Bolton back to Brunton Park for what will be his third stint at the club. Ramires replaces Marchisio who departed for Bolton along with youngster T.Borven.

Interesting fact: Ramires who I bought in season 9 and made 27 apps over season 9-10 then was sold in season 11 to Chesterfield remained there until the start of season 13 before joining Carlisle again only to move to Bolton at the end of season 13-14 before joining Carlisle in season 15 remains my highest capped player on 56 appearances. :D

Shinjury Kagawa & Rolando Finally Join The Blues

Carlisle United are delighted to announce the signings of Shinji Kagawa and Jorge Rolando the Japanese International has been a long term target for the Blues and will fill the void left by countryman K.Honda whilst Rolando will partner S.Tasci in defence against his old club on Wednesday night that's if my Shield Match ever gets played.

Eh? What have I done now?!:confused::) Can't blame me for that. :P

I am hoping to sign a high rated winger if anyone has one, or a good CB.

I can offer decent players or cash in exchange - so if anyone fancies doing a deal please drop me a line.

I am a little despondent after my latest attempt at a transfer in EC1 so it would be nice to have my faith restored in the EC1 faithful! :(

Giampaolo PAZZINI (22) - Stanislav SESTÁK (6) Kenwyne JONES (19)Steven DEFOUR (85)

The bottom of the table clash ended well for new Carlisle United manager Jinky as his side took all three points at Loftus Road against Queen's Park Rangers. Four new signings were drafted in O.Esparza (Loan) Renato Augusto (Loan) S Defour (Loan) and 7.5m pound signing D.Volkan replaced Ben Foster and all were keen to impress. That they did with Renato Augusto 1 (assist) S Defour 1 (goal+MoM) O Esparza (Match rating 8) Happy Days :D

The only bad thing from the match is Ndri Romaric is now out until late November oh and not happy about the out-bidding me last minute for a 70k valued player Mr Yap Wei Heng. Hopefully I will get my revenge tonight when we meet at the luxurios Brunton Park.

{Taking Bids For England International GK Ben Foster}

{Also Available On Loan}

No revenge tonight' date=' as City edged out Carlisle by a goal to nil at Brunton Park, despite having fewers SoTs, with a solo effort from luciano galletti on 76mins, 22mins after renato augusto was sent off for play acting.[/quote']
STRIKER ARRIVES IN BRISTOL

Bristol City have completed the signing of Italian striker Sergio Floccari a few minutes ago for 8.3m. Yap had to make this alternative signing after missing out on another Italian hotshot Simone Pepe' date=' who joined divison 2 rivals Carlisle after having their bid accepted in the last minute:mad: (well Jinky, you have exacted your revenge in a much worse possible way :( ) Meanwhile, Ricardo Oliveira joined Lazio in a 13.6m deal

[img']http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/095N8BY77PaYn/340x.jpg[/img]

Floccari joins Bristol City on a 2 year deal. He is going to assume the role of the main striker along with Zaki

Carlise-1.jpg0 - 1 bristol.jpg

L.Galetti

Well the honeymoon period didn't last long as L.Galetti's moment of magic put Carlisle United to the sword in what was a rather stale match. The Argentine made a mockery of Carlisles' defensive pairing O.Esparza and R.Dunne as he easily outwitted both with his trickery then slotted past 7.5m pound signing D.Volkan to take all three points at Brunton Park.

Manager View

All credit must go to Bristol they took their chance when called upon which we failed to do throughout the entire match. I thought we should have won the match but our strikers were below par and this will have to be addressed but when you have players of the calibre of Galetti that can turn a match in a instant like he did today you can't get caught napping and we payed the price.

Transfer News

:D It's been a eventful week at Brunton Park which has seen players come and go and supposed to come but never' date=' however the main talking point has to be that of Italian International Simone Pepe's. The Italian looked bound for The Blues' weekend opponents Bristol City but a last ditch bid saw Pepe shockingly end up in Cumbria to the delight of Jinky. At the unveiling of Pepe Jinky couldn't hide his delight neither could he stop laughing so was only quoted in one sentence saying " What goes around comes around."

Took me just over half a hour to find this my first posts on EC1 thread and I remember it like it was yesterday. There has been some great characters in the setup it's a bit of a shame how much it's changed don't get me wrong it's still the best setup on sm alongside gc 1 and ec 106 but it'd be good to get it back to how it was with people posting more and getting good banter going. If anyone has a spare half hour have a look through your posts to find your first couple and post them it would make a good read. :D

Re: English Championship 1

Hi Dave!!!

Welcome to the Forum champ.

As some of you know I have Swindon Town in Div 4 (currently 2nd) and will try my very best to keep Perry and his Southend Utd off my back during the course of the season.

I joined with 9 rounds to go in the last season and Swindon were struggling in 16th place. Managed to finish the season with 7 wins and 2 losses and climbed up to finish the season in 7th spot.

Just wanted to say a big welcome and thank you to Dave' date=' who has been kind enough to loan me a few players from his strong Bolton squad to help me out at different times. :D;) Not sure about Cardiff mate, but I like the way you've transformed your squad over the past 20 weeks. B)

Good to also see "oobee007" join the ranks. Good luck mate!

Should also point out that "tebthereb" (Steve) is also in this set-up. He manages the mighty Fulham team in Div 2.

I'll catch all you lot around the traps!

Cheers,

Herby[/quote']

Even my very first post was quality!!! lol :D:p:o:rolleyes:

25th July 2006 seems like an eternity ago :( sometimes I wish I still had that Swindon team, would've loved to have taken them all the way to Div 1 ;)

Re: English Championship 1

Hi folks' date='

joined EC1 a good few weeks ago now as manager of Chesterfield who were, at that time, rock-bottom of Division 4 (but hey - we've all got to start somewhere!).

Chuffed to bits to be part of such a famous set-up, and especially one that everyone obviously cares so much for.

Anyway, finally got round to joining the forum so thought i'd say hi and ta to Arsenal, Man Utd and Fulham for the loan of the players.

Hopes are high at Chesterfield that with the nucleus of exciting young players (inc. Bojan Krkic [i']AND[/i] Toni Kroos!) that the future is bright and next season can see us make a real push for promotion to Division 3.

P.S - i can't decide which deal was more of a steal; Bojan for 550k, Matthew Spring & Colin Larkin - OR - Kroos for 250k, Clayton Ince & Alan O'Hare????

;)

Lol my first EC1 post (and possibly my first ever forum post) from late 2007 - cheekily mentioning that i'd managed to snap up both Toni Kroos and Bojan from external from under the noses of the EC1 hot-shots - still don't know how i managed to do that! :D

Alas, we were at the foot of D4 when i joined and eventually Kroos had to be sold to help us bring in risers, also sold Pjanic and Ayew around the same time too for the same reason.

Bojan i kept hold of initially as he and Andrea Russotto were my teenage strike force that were going to fire me to D1 as IRL Bojan was going to take over from Henry at Barca while Russotto was the new Totti, meaning that by February 2011 both would be rated 94+ and i would have won D1 three seasons running.....B):o:rolleyes:

The reality is that i eventually sold Bojan as part of a deal for Henry, while 3 years later Russotto is in Serie B and hasn't budged from his 80 rating....but despite selling him i keep bringing him back to the club - there's still time, he'll hit 94 yet!

They were innocent times, when loaning in a 87 rated Davie weir and a 84ish Seb Giovinco from Teb were seen as massive deals for the club.

Might see if i can find some old line-ups and do a "where are they now?" feature :)

Ramires Rescues Blues

A brace from tireless Brazilian midfielder Santos Ramires in the second half helped Carlisle Utd to a narrow 2 - 1 win at Brunton Park against West Ham to move The Blues up to 7th. A respectable 9 points from 15 after the first 5 games in my first season in the Prem which I am content with although feel it could have been a little better but i am not complaining.

marcelon.jpg

Marcelo Deal Reached

On the transfer front Carlisle Utd are on the look out for 89/90 rated RB - CB so if anyone has someone they're willing part with let me know and we'll try and sort something out. The big story though has to be that The Blues have reached a agreement with Hull over the future of V.Marcelo who is now expected to make the switch to Cumbria in the next few days.

West Ham sink to second consecutive defeat.

West Ham's defeat against Carlisle United makes it two losses in a row for the London outfit following their previous 2-0 reverse at the hands of Ian's Blackburn.

Caleb ends interest in Pique

Barcelonas-Gerard-Pique-c-001.jpg

West Ham gaffer Caleb has ended his long standing interes in Hull City's Spanish stopper Gerard Pique after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement for the 23-year-old.

"Pique is a fantastic player and a solid addition to any club. However, we have now pulled out of talks to sign him following the differences in our valuation for him. I am pleased with the defenders at my disposal and will strive to bring out the best from the lads." He stated.
