Re: Gold Chamionship 19 - Discussion Thread

Still on the look out for some Mids, Ribery is available for the right price ;) .

Also, fixture list is completely messed, tonight I Bayern Munich (A Bundesliga Team), will play Lecce (Serie A Team) in the League . And to top it all off, Lecce play 4 games EVERY match day  , sent a ticket and SM said it would be sorted yesterday, but it hasn't been, and I don't know what will happen if I win tonight, as surely they couldn't give me points for that.

Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News

Know the Managers introduction part is a bit late :D:

Valencia appoint Sinar

On the 28th July, Valencia had sensationally been linked with top class managers but settled for English manager Tom Sinar. Sinar, checked in the Mestalla hoping for a long and successful time at the Spanish Giants. Sinar said, "It's good to be at Valencia as I really wanted to manage my first club in Spain, but now I've got it, it's now my aim to become a title challenging club in La Liga, we face obvious competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla etc, but every club is a challenge and I look forward to taking this club up to the next level".

Transfer News

Sinar was quick to swipe up Spanish winger Jesus Navas from Spanish rivals Sevilla. Navas, 22, arrived at Valencia for a straight swap of winger Joaquin and starlet Juan Mata. Sinar is pleased with the deal as he felt the only way forward is a young squad. "Jesus Navas will be essential to us, his pace, crossing and attacking mind will help us dominate the wings with David Silva as well, they are exactly alike and I hope that most of our goals will come from an assist from the wings" commented Sinar.

(Jesus Navas is hungry for success)

The biggest signing of the clubs spendings so far is Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez. Tevez, who has had stints with Manchester United and West Ham United arrived for David Villa and £4m respectively. Sinar regarded Tevez as one of the best strikers in the world and has challenged Tevez to score 20 goals this season.

Tevez said, "It's great to be here at the Mestalla, I believe that this move will help me further in my career". When quoted by press of what his aims were, this was his reply: "My aim? My aim is to win trophies, that is it, mainly the Golden Boot, I hope to hit loads of goals in for my club".

(High hopes for the Argentinian star, Carlos Tevez)

The last permanent deal so far is Egyptian midfielder Abd Rabou Hosny. Hosny has won back to back trophies in the African Cup of Nations with national side Egypt arrived for £5m and Cesar Edu. Hosny is being used in cup sides and for backup to the squad.

(Hosny hoping for more trophies)

The loan deal that Valencia have secured a deal for is Brazilian starlet Vinicius Breno who arrived from German champions Bayern Munchen.

The 18 year old, who can play as centre-back and right-back, joined on loan earlier for Santiago Canizares and Ever Banega off on loan to the German giants. Breno has signed a 1 season loan deal with a view to a permanent deal at the Mestalla. For this to happen, Bayern and Valencia agreed a deal that both Banega and Breno must play at least 15 games in all competitions for the player to go to the other side respectively.

(Starlet Breno will be involved in Valencia's plans)

Deportivo La Coruna - Valencia

Valencia is expected to play a different line-up to last night friendly v Ipswich by playing a more attacking approach. Jesus Navas and Carlos Tevez is expected to make their debuts against Deportivo.

Deportivo is expected to play their strongest side in the 4-4-2 formation.

Expected Valencia XI:

Good luck to Deportivo La Coruna

(Duo will make their debuts tonight)

Raul Albiol made Valencia captain

Sinar has confirmed that defender Raul Albion will be given the captains armband this season and hopefully more seasons to come. The Spanish defender, 22, was named temporary captain against Ipswich last night and cored the winner in what Sinar called a terrific display from the Spanish player. "He's got leadership qualities all round, he is a starter for Valencia, tipped to make the Spain squad and he is only 22, he is a great defender who is great in the air but is an even better leader, and that's why he has gotten captain here, let him lift many trophies here".

(Raul Albiol named skipper)

That's it from the Mestalla, more news later as we look into the match against Deportivo La Coruna, good luck to all managers tonight! B)

Lyon kicked off their League Campaign with a 3-0 win away at Le Havre. Juninho opened the scoring in the 40th minute lashing home a shot from 15 yards. Kader Keita doubled the lead when he was surely offside but took advantage off the dodgy decision to make it 2-0 Lyon.

HT Le Havre 0 Lyon 2

Lyon almost scored a 3rd early into the second half but a overhead kick from Kader Keita went just over the crossbar. Lyon got the 3rd goal of the game in the 76th minute when a neat passing move left Toulalan clean through on goal and he finished with ease. Good start to the season and Lyon top the table after the first game.

Heartbreaker for Getafe at Noucamp

An 89th minute go for Samuel Eto'o gave Spanish giants Barcelona one-nil win over Getafe. Getafe was very close to returning home with a point but Eto'o slots home after a neat footwork with the last kick of the game. In fairness, the home side looks more lively than Getafe and even after Messi was sent off on the 17th minute for a dangerous two-foot tackle, Getafe couldn't take advantage.

Getafe coach said, "We are very disappointed with the last minute goal. A small lapse of concentration in defence for one minute costs as a point. But we are happy with how everyone plays. But we need to get better before we entertain Espanyol at home on Wednesday."

Wycombe Off To A Flyer

90_1205463045.gif4- 146_1192906906.gif

Tonight the new season kicked of in the blue square premier, Wycombe traveled to Macesfield to take on one of thier promotion rivals, It took 17 minutes for the deadlock to be broken and it came from new Wycombe signing Angel Martinez who finished neatly in the box, Wycombe uped the pressure from thier on and was rewarded with a second as the Maccesfield keeper made a mistake and left the net gaping for Angel Martinez who thundered it into the net to grab his second of the game

Gave Wycombe the lead at half time with 2 tidy goals

Wycombe kicked of the second half and came at Maccesfield with all guns blazing, the Maccesfield keeper saved shot after shot from Wycombe players but they couldnt find thier 3rd of the night, untill record signing right back Ortiz capped of a fantastic debut when he met a cross from deep and headed home into the top corner, a slight bit of complacency came in in the lst 6 minutes as Maccesfield grabbed a conselation goal through Symes as he produced the goal of the game, 4 minutes later Wycombe finished the wrote through John sutton who capitalized on a poor clearence and strook it home

Sutton Rounded of the scoring for Wycombe

Sorry, rushed post

Real Madrid 3-1 Osasuna

Latest Osasuna News

First half

Osasuna opened their campaign against La Liga holders Real Madrid who were in great form, they won 3-1 tonight. Ruud Van Nistelrooy was through on goal on the 21st minute, he finished beautifully passed the on running Ricardo Lopez. Martínez FRANCISCO PUNAL was one on one with the keeper on the 43rd minute, but unluckily hit the post.

Secind half

Osasuna weren't going to give up easily, as they showed when Bezunartea MIGUEL FLANO was free on goal, on the 56th minute as he finished calmly passed Casillas. But just 1 minute later, Osasuna's defence was caught napping as Cannavaro ran from the defence and finished in style pass Lopez.

4 minutes before the end, Raul tried his luck from long range and scored a absolute cracker which went in the top right corner of the net.

That victory meant Real Madrid picked up 3 points and leaves Osasuna to try and pick up some points against Valladolid. Osasuna did have most of the chances with 15 shots on goal. So we will have to see if Osasuna play better against Valladolid stay tuned for that match.

Atalanta sneak last minute victory to win 3-2 away from home against Napoli

Atalanta were slow out of the blocks tonight and went behind in the match after only 11 minutes of play when Ezequiel Lavezzi got on the end of a clever through ball and smashed the ball into the top corner of the net. Going behind so early sparked Atalanta into action and they imediately got themselves back into the match only a minute after going behind as Luca Cigarrini cleverly beat the offside trap and ran in behind and cooly sloted the ball underneath the napoli keeper to level the scores at 1-1. after the equaliser the match became very even both teams having there fair share of opertunitys to take the lead, before finally in the 37th minute atalanta get a corner wich napoli can only clear as far as maximilliano Pellegrino who riffles a half volley into the top corner of the net giving Atalanta the lead for the first time in the match

HT Napoli 1 - Atalanta 2

Atalanta's lead did not last very long into the second half when on 50 minutes Marek Hamsik skiped inside his marker and rifled in a curling shot from 25 yards out to the delight of the home fans, from this moment on the match turned into some what of a stalemate both teams seeming to of settled for a draw, until in the final minute Adriano FERREIRA PINTO carresed in a curling shot from just outside the box with amazing skill and tecniqe to clinch a victory for atalanta

Olympiakos 4-0 OFI Crete

Olympiakos started their season with a convincing 4-0 win against bottom favourites, OFI Crete. It wasnt the strongest XI that started by Olympiakos won it confortably.

Starting Line-Ups

----Antzas---Julio Cesear---Vidal----

OFI Crete

Olympiakos started the match brightest and got an early lead. Speculated Fernando Belluschi put Olympiakos in the lead after 5 minutes. His header crashing into the net. It was made 2-0 just short of half time, as LuaLua volleyed in from just outside the 6 yard box. Olympiakos immediatly took control of the second half and after 50 minutes, Spanish AM Gonzalez Oscar made the score-line 3-0 with his solo effort. The match was ended by Bfatmendi Gomis, who's curling shot found its into the top back corner of the Crete net. LuaLua picked up the MoM award.

Olympiakos now find themselves top of the table and welcome Larissa in their next game who overcame Panithanikos by a goal to nill. Toggs is expected to field a stronger squad than today.

Note to managers: I have Didier DOMI (30,85,LB) & Kostas Mitrogolou (20,83,CF) for sale for Chairman Vlaue which is 2.4M and 3.0M respectivly. I need to shift one of these tonight so bargains waiting. If that can happen, Pasquale Foggia will join Monday morning.

Palermo News

149_1190441126.gifGetafe 2-1 Palermo117_1198417095.gif

The season for Palermo kicked off at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, where Getafe hosted Palermo in a pre season friendly. This would be a good work out for both sides as they were two sides who would be looking to finish in the top half of the table and have the same sort of ability level. Although if anything Palermo may have been slight favourites. Both sides had strong sides out with and many new pre season signings featured in the game, and with a total 16,254 fans inside the stadium it was going to be a good game.

Getafe, as the home side kicked things off and within 6 minutes there was a goal which set the stadium alight as it came from the home side, Getafe. And it was one of the new pre season signings who came up with the goods, Fraizer Campbell picked up the ball a good few yards outside of the penalty box, set himself and wrapped home an absolute screaming from a good 20 years out, not much could have been done about that one. 1-0 to the home side after only 6 minutes.

(Frazer Campbell scored the opener to give Getafe a 1-0 lead.)

And it wasn't long before Getafe increased there lead and made it 2-0. The goal wasn't from a distance this time, in fact it was the complete opposite as Mohamed Chermiti tapped in a well delivered cross from the left hand side. A great knock which left the keeper stranded and made it an easy tap in for center forward Chermiti. A great start for the home side, as they were 2-0 up after only 16 minutes.

(Mohamed Chermiti scored the second to give Getafe daylight at 2-0.)

Palermo needed to get back into the game with a goal and it came from center forward Lucio Fernandao, and it was another long range goal which was very pleasing on the eye. After picking the ball up 20 yards out Fernandao smashed a low hard shot which beat the keeper to his right. But it wasn't enough as Palermo couldn't score again which meant the game finished 2-1 to Getafe. A good work out for the club which manager Sam Pooley was pleased with.

(Lucio Fernandao (right) scored one for Palermo but it wasn't enough.)

117_1198417095.gifPalermo 0-0 Siena 126_1191220372.gif

Palermo kicked off there first game of the league season with a home game against Siena. And once again Palermo were favourites going into the game, but once again they didn't follow through as they were only able to get a point. 36,989 people were packed into the Renzo Barbera which meant that only 11 seats were free. But they were not in for a treat as the game ended up in a stalemate draw.

(This is the stadium where Palermo played Siena in the first game of the season.)

The first half was very quiet, in fact so was the second half as no chances were created in either, but in the second half Palermo went a man down, one of the things that manager Sam really didn't want to happen. The player was Lucio Fernandao; his first yellow card was for shouting abusive language at the ref and his second was for a rash tackle on an advancing striker. He will be dearly missed in the next 3 games. But Palermo are off and running and have a point to there name and will be looking to pick up 3 more from there next game against Bologna. Ryan Nelson was very pleased with his sides performance in his first competitive game as captain of Palermo.

(Ryan Nelson (right) captained the side during the 0-0 draw against Siena.)

Sivasspor 7-1 Ankaragucu

The opening day of the season for Sivasspor started well as loanee Hedwiges Maduro struck after seventeen minutes, before Federico Fazio (also on loan) then made it two. Maduro scored another fifteen minutes before the break as he extended the lead to three at the break. Angel Arizmendi then scored, two minutes into the second half before defensive midfielder Hedwiges Maduro completed a debut hattrick to take the match well out of the visitors' reach. Arizmendi grabbed a second on 60 minutes and seven minutes later a seventh was scored by Sivasspor as defender Hayrettin struck - Silvino Jaba added a 79th minute consolation goal for the visitors, but it was far too little, far too late.

Hedwiges Maduro's(above) fantastic hattrick fired Sivasspor to the top of the Turkish lead before they travel to face Galatasaray on Wednesday. Philp's side were given a boost ahead of the match as Valencia revealed that Maduro was to stay for the full season on loan at the club. Unfortunately tonight, the other loanee Fazio is now injured for some 5-6 weeks and Dereli Abdurrahman is out for around 6 days. Philp is looking to bring in two or three midfielders over the next few days - he was pleased with Polak and other new signing Sanhueza tonight as well.

Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News

Fans and football supporters have been waiting for the self proclaimed more special than the special one to speak to the media since Colchester United manager Justice gave fans some one sided appraisal of the court session in which St Johnstone maganer sued for defamation.

Speaking exclusively to TAY fm, Mat Mourinho had the following comments to offer.

"Firstly, in regards to Palermo and their manager, whatever happened with Fontana is irrelevant. He is a clown. I will speak no further on the issue."

"I was happy with the 4-4 draw with Bournemouth. It was a long way to travel, and even with 9 men Rocco managed to score to even the score with 5 to go. The Bournemouth manager must be blind thinking we has a better team considering Balotelli and their 2 signings from the South American nursing home played 90 minutes. I dont know what game he was watching, but I wouldnt expect much from Bournemouth this season. Plus their pies are second rate chit.

"As I expected we won our first league fixture this evening against a quality Livingston team. Nobody could argue with Innes' red card, it was a blatant red card. We made tough work of it but totally dominated possession and thanks to the screamer from Lanzafame 2 minutes from time we got the win we fully deserved."

"Clyde will be easy meat next game at home. I will remind our fans that our sexy cheer girls will be handing out my hand made pies at half time, Clyde fans will also receive a pie."

In other news, St Johnstone have challenged Colchester United to a friendly on the 15th of July. Although reported otherwise, generous St Johnstone manager Mat Mourinho has offered all Colchester United fans travelling to Mc Diarmid a free pie made by himself, as he feels sorry for the **** they serve down there in Essex.
