Don’t Panic, You Are Done

The sweat chokes his under arms and the smell of fear is coming from every orifice of his body, because he is falling from the classification tables faster than a drag queen will drop his panties for Ronaldo.

Even if you brought back Pele and Maradona -the two best players in the history of the game in that order- you will not recover. You can try to reconstruct your team, you will not recover. You can sell all the great “risers” that you have, you will not recover. You can cheat all you want, you will not recover.

My recommendation is for you to drop your team, pick a nice eleven in the English fifth division, I would recommend Kidderminster Harriers. Go down to the newsstand and buy yourself a copy of 442. Read it more than once. Do this for about three years, and then come back and try to manage one of the elite teams. Once again, good luck mate. We will miss you.

Milan Relieved After Important Win

320px-uefa_champions_league_logo_2s.png

Milan.gif 2 - 0 282_1196049577.gif

A sigh of relief set down upon the San Siro as Milan beat River Plate 2-0 in matchday 3. David Silva opened the scoring on 13 minutes and jovetic calmed the nerves with 2 minutes to go.

With a shaky start to the season' date=' there has been media speculation surrounding manager Troy Lamagna's job, however club president, (and ironically Manchester United manager ) Dan Walmsley has said that Lamagna's job is safe for the rest of the season.

Milan sit 5 points back in 7th, after a 5-1-3 start. Hardly the form that one them the title last season.....

[center']Transfer News

Although quiet up until now, Troy has promised to try and lure either Jeremy Toulalan or Xabi Alonso to the San Siro, with most likely nasri's time limited. having said that, Troy said he is willing to swap nasri and montolivo for a top CM, or Nasri and Lucio for a top CB....

Good win Troy, however it looks like no-one will be facing River Plate next season as they are just a point above the relegation zone.

Mutu Showing His Class Once Again

Milan.gif3 - 1 104_1204113865.gif

Knowing that 3 points was a must to keep the leaders within distance, Milan headed to the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi and picked up the win.

Adrien Mutu, who leads the league in scoring picked up a brace, and his partner Rooney added a third. The win sees Milan jump to 5th, and only 5 points back of leaders Udinese. Which to be fair is not bad considering Milan's start to the campaign. Manager Troy lamagna and his team know that these next couple of weeks will be important, starting with Napoli and the San Siro midweek, and the following monday Milan will host chelsea in a crucial Group F match.

Transfer News

Milan's progress of signing a new DM have stalled of late, with negotiations for Jeremy Toulalan and Xabi Alonso halted, however the Rosonerri are said to be in negotiations with an un-named club for a top striker....

Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News

AS-Roma-256x256.png

Roma and Bari met today in a clash of the undefeateds and the final result saw a victorious Roma side, an impressive 3-0 victory. Before the match, manager Nino was bursting with confidence because he was so sure of his matchday squad. "After today's game, we will be looking forward towards the Shield quarter-final that pits us against a strong Napoli side but I feel that our improved depth this season will lead to a game of the decades, a superclasico. I've decided to go with the first team today, just so that I can keep us up with the dazzling form of Udinese, but our Shield squad isn't any joke." Indeed, we have seen great performances this season from all of Brown's players, with the capitol team not dropping a game yet this season. Brown continued, "I'm very impressed with the play of young midfielder Dan Gosling. We saw him put back a goal, an impressive one at that, against Genoa where he split two defenders and slotted it home with basically no assistance from the rest of the team. His performance in practice has really developed a healthy rivalry with himself and Andres [Guardado]. You can count on seeing him in the game against Napoli."

Roma has really regained the confidence that the had in season one, hitting their stride. With the sales of selfish superstars, it seems the team has really bonded. Numerous sources say that the team regularly hangs out off of the pitch. "The chemistry here is great. These guys are practically my family. I'm just really glad Coach has decided to bring me back to Rome," said Matteo Brighi.

Transfers news involving Roma has been quiet. It is rumored that Brown is struggling to extract funds from the board. It seems as if the board isn't making any of their vast fortune that they have garnered solely from ticket sales. Also going around the rumor mill is that Juventes and Roma are trying to deal for Zambrotta, but that Juventes has been quite hush-hush about everything and that they haven't been too prompt in replying to anybody...

Robben.jpg

Robben - Where will the talented Winger end up?

The bidding war for Arjen Robben has begun with some of the biggest clubs in the world hunting the Dutchmens signature. Zenit had confirmed earlier in the week that the club were willing to listen to offers for the 25 year old which alerted Barcelona, Inter, Milan, Real and Manchester United. It is believed that the best bid will be accepted tommorow and Dan Walmsley is hopeful his offer can secure him a new squad member:

'There is no secret that we have made what we believe to be a solid offer to Zenit but with some of the finest clubs in the world also interested we are in for a battle for Robben's signature. He is a player that interests me alot as he can add some extra quality to our wide play as well as the ability to cut in and score goals - much like Cristiano Ronaldo who will play on the other side. We will wait for further correspondence from Zenit regarding the deal but so far the signs have been good for us from Russia where we have several people working hard to land our man.'

Serie A Round Up

Turn 11

italian-badge.jpg

Udinese recorded their 7th win on the bounce as Roma ended Bari's unbeaten start to become the only remaining side yet to lose. Elsewhere Napoli moved back into the SMFA Cup positions, Lazio lost again and Vicenza lost yet again.

Udinese are beginning to look the team to beat, as they continued their stunning form with a 3-0 win over Torino. Goals from Zapata, Obodo and Anelka secured Udinese's 7th straight victory, whilst Torino remain 13th. Napoli moved back into the top four after they added to Juventus' troubles with a 1-0 victory, courtesy of a Pato goal. Juventus dropped back to 16th in the league, and it is really starting to dawn on people how much problems Juventus face, considering this fixture last year Juventus would have been clear favourites, now Napoli are in the title fight and Juventus are nowhere to be seen.

Roma and Inter kept the pressure on Udinese, beating Bari and Siena respectively. Roma's 3-0 victory ended Bari's unbeaten start to Serie A, with all three goals coming late on in the match. Salcido, Hamsik and Barrios secured the points. Bari drop to 8th in the table, without a win since Turn 7. Inter survived a scare after Fall had put Siena into a shock lead, but Adebayor and Gerrard secured a close win for Inter as they remain within touching distance of the leaders. Siena remain 14th despite the defeat.

Milan saw of Chievo to move up to 5th in the table and within a point of the SMFA Cup positions. Anselmo had equalised for Chievo are Rooney's opener, but a Mutu brace secured a 3-1 win for Milan, who will still have hopes of retaining their title. Meanwhile Lazio's SMFA Cup hopes were dealt a huge blow by Palermo, after an impressive 3-1 win for the hosts who move to within 3 points of the SMFA Cup positions. All of Palermo's goals came inside a ten minute spell, with Bresciano opening the scoring late in the first half, and Janko and Bovo putting them into a comfortable lead very early in the second. Zarate replied late-on for Lazio, but they slip to 6th in the table, a point off the SMFA Cup positions and with just three defeats in the last four games, a shadow of the team that lead Serie A early on. Actually, it is a completely different team to that side, as this is the supposed first team now struggling.

Fiorentina moved to 7th in the league after beating Parma 3-2 in a thriller. Hleb and Mavuba put Fiorentina into a half-time lead, before two Maloney goals in the space of a minute turned the match on its head. But there was late drama as Ronaldinho smashed home with just seconds remaining to send Parma down to 11th, and with just one point in the last four games. Sampdoria moved into the top half of Serie A for the first time this season, after beating relegation-threatened Reggina 2-0. Poli and Josiel's goals lifted Sampdoria to 10th, and within 5 points of a European position after a disastrous start to the season.

Genoa and Livorno played out a 2-2 draw, with all the goals coming in a 15 minute spell, either side of half-time. Palladino had put Genoa ahead, before quick-fire goals from Edu and Bolanos turned the match around. But the lead was very short-lived, as Kharja equalised just a minute later, and Livorno's lead over the relegation zone was reduced to just 3 points. Genoa pull ahead of Juventus, but all three sides remain on the same points. Bologna secured a massive win in the battle of the bottom two, to leapfrog Reggina into 18th place and move within 3 points of safety. Capone had equalised for Vicenza after Mingazzini's opener, but Adailton and Gonzalez goals secured just Bologna's second win of the campaign, and Vicenza's 10th defeat. Vicenza are in danger of recording the lowest ever points tally, with so far just the one win and ten defeats.

1 Udinese 27 (+16)

-----------------------

2 Roma 25 (+18)

3 Inter 25 (+12)

6 Napoli 23 (+4)

-----------------------

5 Milan (+7)

4 Lazio 22 (+6)

-------------------------------

16 Genoa 9 (-7)

17 Livorno 9 (-9)

Napoli Update:

A CRUSHING DEFEAT BUT GOOD RECOVERY

Matchday 10

Inter 5  Napoli 1

Napol travelled to the Sansiro in good spirits following a superb run of form but were humbled and humiliated by a fantastic performance by Inter who strolled in at half time 4-0 up, Napoli regained a little (and I mean little!) but of pride by drawing the 2nd half 1-1 with sub Lavezzi getting the goal

Matchday 11

Napoli 1 Juventus 0

Napoli gained an important victory over Italian heavyweights Juventus with a 1st half Pato strike proving the difference, Naoli then somewhat comfotably held on for the 3points to regain 6th place in Serie A 4points behind surprise package and form leaders Udinese.

Italian Shield Q Final

Roma 1 Napoli 4

Napoli's 2nd string produced a stunning performance to bea previously unbeaten Roma 4-1 with a display of attacking football which left the Naples fans purring and wandering why there team can not produce displays like this more often. Maggio, New boy Falcao and Lavezzi (2) inflicting the damage and in the process wiping th smug grin off marek hamsik's face who had scored against his old club earlier in the season ;) No doubt Roma will bounce back but Pauley was saidto be ecstatic at his reserves performances and like his friend Seftinho may have to consider playing the 2nd string more often.

The draw for thesemi finals showed

Piacenza V Napoli

Lazio v Catania

On Paper napoli should ease through but caution must be shown a Napoli have lost to easier teams in the past, but a potential meeting wth friend and foe Seftinho in the final beckons if both tram perform to there capabilities.

Nex up in the league is probably another Humiliaton at the San Siro as Napoli travel to play Italian Champions Milan. :(

Napoli Update

Napoli Falling away in the League but announce exciting new signing

Matchday 12

Milan 2 Napoli 0

Napoli succumbed to the champions at particuarly annoying San Siro, napoli have an awful record at the ground and despite a spirited display were unable to cope with the sheer talent of the Champions Lucio and Joaquin doing the damage

Matchday 13

Napoli 1 Bologona 2

Napoli fell to a shock home defeat to struggling Bologna, Napoli were 2-0 down within 20 minutes to stun the Naples faitful, D'Alessandro pulled on e back midway through the second half but Napoli were unable to gain a point despite amassing over 30attemps and the finishing may need some work on the training ground

These 2defeats continue Napoli's alarming slump in league form and leaves Napoli 7th more in danger of slipping out of the SMFA Shield spots than looking to the SMFA Cup spots, the slide could continure with a very difficult away trip to parma on the horizons. Napoli have a great league record against Parma over the seasons and Pauley hopes this trend continues on Wed as napoli need to get back on track and fast.

SMFA Shield round 2 Leg 2

Dynamo Kiev 0 Napoli 3 AGG 1-6

Napoli secured another fantastic victory in Europe easing to a 3-0 win on the night and 6-1 agg victory at Kiev. Falcao, Nocerino and Walcott scoring the goals and earns Napoli a nice easy draw  at current SMFA Shield champions Paris St Germain in the last 16. Napoli are joined by nearly all the other Italian teams in the last 16 with lazio,Udinese, Roma all joining Napoli in the last 16.

In transfer News Pauley is delighted to announce the arrival of Belgian Hot Shot Moussa Dembele the striker arrives for a fee of 16.8m from Boavista which Pauley believes is a steal as he really expects the striker to progress rapidly and be a 90+ player in the future without doubt. DEpartures include failed youths Copil and Bruno Gama brining 5m into the clubs coffers

Fixture: Division 1 - Sheffield Wednesday Vs Manchester United

Venue: Hillsborough (25,751)

MoM: Robin Van Persie

Utd Scorers: Van Persie (23), Ronaldo (79).

A comfortable away win for United kept up the good start to the new season with goals from Van Persie and Ronaldo either side of half-time doing the task in hand. Manchester City sit 2nd in the table...

Ipswhich.gif2 - 2 mnu-1.gif

Fixture: Division 1 - Ipswich Town Vs Manchester United

Venue: Portman Road (21,154)

MoM: Iker Casillas

Utd Scorers: Higuain (31), Van Persie (53).

A frustrating afternoon for United as they were held to a point by newly promoted side Ipswich. The home side twice took the lead in the game before United levelled and man of the match Casillas was forced to make a string of top saves to keep his side in the game at times. United remain on their new unbeaten run but another showing like this will cause big problems to that record.

Transfer News

Robben1.jpg

United Prize Robben From Zenit!

Arjen ROBBEN has joined Manchester United, turning down offers from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Milan and Inter to return to England. The Dutch winger was much sought after by Europe's elite after Zenit confirmed the winger could leave the club for the right offer. Manchester United met the valuation placed by the Russian side and Robben says he never looked back:

'As soon as i heard Manchester United were interested in me i told Zenit that they were the club for me. I am flattered for the interest shown in me from some of the biggest clubs in the world but the chance to play in the same team as players like Cassillas, Vidic, Ferdinand, Ronaldo and Lionel Messi was too appealing for me to even consider anyone else.

Dan Walmsley has told me he has big plans this season and for the future and i think this season United look like a more complete package with more answers than last season. I think i have a fantastic oppurtunity to win some major honours here...'

Ederson and Vucinic left Old Trafford to fund the Robben deal.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anderson HERNANES also joins United for a part-exchange deal of Cissokho and Hulk. The duo are believed to have great futures ahead of them but with neither playing a game between them since their arrivals last season Dan Walmsley admitted he needed someone who can do a job in the middle now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luigi GIORGI leaves United for £600,000.

Catania Top Of Serie B!

Catania have justified their pre-season tag of favourites in Serie B as they currently lead the table by a single point from Atlanta. Catania took some time getting into their stride but the manager seems to have found the winning combination at last which has seen star man Aboutrika flourishing of late supplying goals and assists.

Catania have also exceeded expectations by reaching the semifinals of the Italian Cup and face a Lazio side managed by Luke Sefton." My side have got nothing to lose against a very good lazio side. We will go into this game under no extra pressure and will play exactly as how we have in the previous rounds"

Transfers

The Catania manager has been extremely proactive in the transfer market and in the process buying some brilliant talents as well as experienced players to beef the squad up.

2vik2ad.jpg351e42p.jpg

Aidal White(left) and Erik lamela are regarded as 2 big talents. Aidan White was signed from Manchester United for a nominal fee and Catania beat of competitions from some of the biggest clubs in Europe to sign the Argentine wonderkid. Catania had to part with a hefty 5 million to secure the signature of lamela.

w71kxl.jpgtalg1c.jpg

Nery Castillo(left) was signed from Manchester City for 10 million and has lived up the price tag and has been in blistering form since then. In 8 appearances for the club to date he has banged in 6 goals and has 6 assists and 4 MOM's. Modibo Maiga signed from Le mans in a straight swap for Morimoto and made his debut against Piacenza last night scoring 2 and assisting 1 goal.

Napoli update:

10 goals, 2wins, back to our best???

matchday 14

Parma 0 Napoli 6

Napoli travelled to parma on the back of a good SMFA Cup victory, but with successive league defeats it was mportant to get back on track and Napoli did this with a quite breathtaking performance at a Parma side who have been doing really well in Serie A. A Pato hat trick, 2 goas from phenomenal LM Bastos and a maggio strike ensured an emphatic victory.

Matchday 15

Napoli 4 Reggiana 0

Napoli moved back up to 6th in th table with a thumping home win. Pato Inevitably on the scoresheet with only 2 goals this time :P Blasi getting a rare goal and a goal from DEmbele who was scoring his first goal for the club in his first full start caped off a wonderful result and performance for napoli who seem to have rediscovered thereattacking verve and are now getting the goals and the results to reflect there domination of matches lately.

This result leaves napoli in 6th 5 points off the leaders Roma and 5 oints ahead of lazio in 7th. Napoli are grimly hanging on to the coattails of the leading ack but all the big boys are above them and it is gunna be difficult to reel any of them in over the long course.

On a seperate note and in a DElia Smith type moment Pauley had this to say on the lack of mtch reports etc coming from fellow members of GC19. He is quoted as saying managers such s Adamski,Carlo,Seft,T-Roy, etc etc seem to have gone missing.

Well hopefully I meet you or Seft in the final and maybe just for a change I might wn one LOL :P

I'm pretty sure it will be you and Red in the final. We can't win for love nor money atm, and I can't see why that would change tonight, especially against a better manager than that of Livorno, Sampdoria or whoever else we've failed to beaten.

United Defeated But Bounce Back At Newcastle.

mnu-1.gif0 - 2 MiddlesboroughFC.gif

Fixture: Division 1 - Manchester United Vs Middlesbrough

Venue: Old Trafford (76,178)

MoM: Stewart Downing

Utd Scorers: N/A

United's 15 game unbeaten run came to a crashing end as they were defeated at home to an unfancied Boro side. A Stewart Downing brace did the damage in each half as United failed to win at the third time of asking in the last 3 fixtures...

NewcastleFC.gif0 - 1 mnu-1.gif

Fixture: Division 1 - Newcastle United Vs Manchester United

Venue: St James' Park (37,381)

MoM: Iker Casillas

Utd Scorers: D. Srna (36).

Dan Walmsley's side travelled up North to Newcastle in a bid to get their season back on track following a dissappointing defeat earlier on in the week. United wanted to go into the upcoming English Shield Semi-Final against fierce rivals Chelsea on the back of a victory and they got it thanks to a solitary strike from the outbound Darijo Srna.

Transfer News

Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News

I'm pretty sure it will be you and Red in the final. We can't win for love nor money atm' date=' and I can't see why that would change tonight, especially against a better manager than that of Livorno, Sampdoria or whoever else we've failed to beaten.[/quote']

yeah put all the pressure on me:p

Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News

THE RIVALRY RENEWED

Roma.gif VS Milan.gif

After a horrendous start to the season by Milan's expectations, the Rossonerri are beginning to hit form and have not lost in their last night matches. However, this is not good enough as Roma and suprise-package Udinese keep winning as well. Wednesday will bring the first meeting of La Derby Della Glastonbury, CT. As long time friends Nolan and Troy square off in what should be a classico. Milan head into this match knowing that 3 points will drastically help their chances of regaining the title, and with Udinese at home to lowly Chievo, the 3 is a must.

The Rosonerri's cause will be aided from captain Lucio returning to action after 2 weeks with a hamstring pull. There is no doubt his class and shear leadership will help Milan on Sunday. As for the frontline, with Milan boasting the best partnership in the world, Manager Troy Lamagna will be hoping for the same Rooney to Mutu combo that has worked so well recently.

As for Roma, with veteran Edwin Van der Sar in goal,(word around Milan is that he has requested a personal oxygen machine for the game:o) the Romans will be tough to score on. Their main scoring threat comes from the wing, with guardado scoring 9 times this season. But Joaquin has promised to do his best against the mexican, and has come up with the idea to throw a taco at him whenever he touches the ball, distracting him while he downs the beefy goodness....:P

Whatever happens in the epic match, the loser will never heard the end of it from the winner....
