Re: The Division 4 Challenge! Finally done this.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Well i had my first season in Div 1 last year with Bradfod and it went ok, came 5th so nothing special, but i was top half way through the season.

My team at the moment is;

Lloris (92)

Maicon (96) Pique (95) Pepe (93) Evra (94)

Arshavin (94) Busquetes (93) L.Gonzalez (93) Ribery (94)

Drogba (96) RVP (93)

Second team;

Llrois (92)

RB - Saving up for someone better, hopefully Sagna :o.. Thiago Silva (92) Koscielny (88 - Though he was gonna rise..) Assou-Ekotto (89 - Thought he was gonna rise!)

Pablo Hernandez (90) Fletcher (92) Toulalan (93) Pedro (92)

Cassano (91) Borrellio (90)

Still got a few on the benches too; De Gea (89), Ranocchia (88), Victor Ruiz (87) etc, not too bad but could be better, gonna be selling the ones that didnt rise too, and replace them with people that i hope will in due time.

Currently sitting in 6th after 6 games, 4 points off top. Terrible start to the season but just managed to beat last years winners United with my cup team i left out, and a little run of form has got me back some ground on the top.

Not bad, dont really go on my SM too much anymore either so im happy with the team. :)

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

After these major changes' date=' I'm delighted to see my Burton Albion average squad rating increase from 89 to 91. I rarely bought any major transfers in the past 1 season. This is going to be my 3rd full season with them. We are now in Division 2, Turn 29, 4th in the table.

[center']Hugo Lloris 92

De Silvestre 88 - Leonardo Bonucci 89 - Gerard Pique 95 - Thomas Vermaelen 91

Pablo Hernandez 90 - Sergio Busquets 93 - Paulo Ganso 88 - Adam Johnson 88

Rodriguez Pedro 92 - Edinson Cavani 90

Other first team players: Salvatore Sirigu GK 89, Emiliano Insua LB 88, Serge Aurier RB/LB 82, Andrea Ranocchio CB 88, Jon Aurtenetxe CB/LB 83, Joel Matip DM/CB 85, Christoph Moritz DM/CM 85, Andrea Poli CM/DM 88, Sergio Canales AM/Wing 87, Mario Gotze AM/Wing 86, Iker Muniain Wing/AM 86, Silva Neymar Fwd/AM 88, Romelu Lukaku CF 87.

We are Champions of Division 2! It was quite close at the top. Before the final game, a defeat could get me into the play-off if both Coventry City and Aston Villa won. But we won the title after a hard fought 3-2 victory over Norwich City. :D

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Have had two games in Divison one with Bradford now and i've managed a win and a draw , had a huge £35,000,000 bif for Diego Forlan off Newcastle so i've/i'm using the money to invest in the squad and improve it in places.

IN:

Pepe (93) - £18,600,000

Zanetti (94) - £6,200,000

Alvaro Dominguez (88) - £9,000,000

Luis Nani (91) - £11,800,000

Ganso (88) - £11,000,000

Di Maria (91) - £14,700,000

Pepe comes into play alongside Lucio (94) and Zanetti will play left back and is a cheap versatile option compared to the £30,000,000 i would of had to of spent on Lahm - who is the only avalible 93+ full back left in the GW. Dominguez (88) replaces Van Buytan (90) in the second string squad as i feel he will benifit the team better in the long run. Luis Nani , Ganso and Di Maria will all be second string but are decent as second choices for the 3 attacking midfield slots.

Out:

Forlan (94) - £35,000,000

Burdisso (90) - £8,100,000

Kallstrom (90) - £8,500,000

Perotti (89) - £10,400,000

Pandev (91) - £9,300,000

Van Buytan (90) - £9,300,000

The offer was to good to turn down for Forlan (94) , wipping out my entire debts and triggering the whole re shuffle of my team. Burdisso and Van Buytan have now better replacements. Kallstrom was always just a spare part. Perroti never seemed to get the 90 he was looking for s0 £10,000,000 is an okay return and Pandev is only going one way.

Estaban Granero out for Ever Banega

I got rid of Estaban due to the competition he has at Madrid and i've always had a soft spot for Ever so i was never going to turn this down once Sunderland offered!

The Team:

Cassilas (96)

Zanetti (94) - Pepe (93) - Lucio (94) - Puyol (96)

Mascherano (94) - Flecture (92)

Muller (91) - Van der Vartt (92) - Pedro (93)

Eto'o (96)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neto (83)

Arbeloa (91) - Bonnuci (89) - Dominguez (88) - Badstuber (91)

M'villa (89) - Banega (89)

Di Maria (91) - Ganso (88) - Nani (91)

Chamakh (91)

Botia (87) ,Wilson (83), Canales (87), Munian (86) , Hernandez (88)

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Not much change in my Burton Albion since the promotion to Division 1 after back-to-back promotion from Division 4 to Division 1. We signed 4 players in with our tight budget; Vieira Marcelo, Glen Johnson, Luiz Danilo and Eden Hazard. Current budget from slightly debt to £300k since signing them and I would need to sell some players or use p/e in order to sign new better player. At the moment, I'm quite happy with the quality in the squad but still looking to bring in more depth in the near future. Burton Albion are currently 4th in Division 1 with 8 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses in 14 games.

Vieira Marcelo - £4.6mil + Emiliano Insua + Oliver Norwood

Luiz Danilo - £2mill

Glen Johnson - Lorenzo De Silvestre + Joel Matip

Eden Hazard - Paulo Henrique Ganso + Serge Aurier

Burton Albion Current Starting XI:

Hugo Lloris 92

Glen Johnson 91 - Gerard Pique 95 - Tomas Vermaelen 91 - Vieira Marcelo 91

Rodriguez Pedro 92 - Mario Gotze 88 - Sergio Busquets 93 - Eden Hazard 90

Edinson Cavani 91 - Silva Neymar 89

Notable player: Salvatore Sirigu [GK, 89], Leonardo Bonucci [CB, 89], Andrea Ranocchia [CB, 89], Andrea Poli [CM/DM, 88], Sergio Canales [AM/Wing, 87], Pablo Hernandez [RM/Wing, 90], Adam Johnson [Wing, 88], Iker Muniain [Wing/AM, 87], Romelu Lukaku [CF, 88].

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Time for an update on my Leyton Orient I suppose:p

Made a few changes since the last time I posted. First of all, I got a better goalie. In fact, I've improved the full team:)

Starting 11 :

-------------Lloris------------

---T. Silva--Hummels--Luiz----

-------------M'vila------------

Pedro-Khedira-Fletcher-Di Maria

----- Benzema--Van Persie----

Bench consists of players like Sanchez, Bonucci, Hazard, Neymar, Ganso, Lukaku, J. Hernandez, Abate etc.

I'm currently at the start of Season 3, Division 2, and I still have around 60 Million to spend, so will probably try and get someone better than Fletcher, and just improve the squad:p

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Darlington finally complete The Division 4 Challenge! :) After successive 1st place finishes to get into Division 1 we finished 2nd for two successive seasons. Fortunately we managed to win the title convincingly and break the 100 point barrier too! :D

Untitled-1.png

After already securing the Charity Shield, the English Shield and the League we'll be looking to lift the SMFA Cup as we face Liverpool in the final later on this week. I'm lucky enough to be able to field an average rating of 96 when everybody is fit :)

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

I'm Bored, so im doing an update on my bradford in EC 7075

Halfway through 2nd season, in 2nd place behind Millwall, which i'm trailing behind by 5 points. Best players are M'Vila, Kagawa (loaned in), Necid, Coutinho, Ananidze, Lukaku (loaned in), Holman (will leave at end of TB) and Munoz. Looking for a RB and to get everyone in the Starting 11 above 85 before the end of the season otherwise it will be a horrible season ahead.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Started a Division Four challenge as Brighton & Hove Albion in a random' date=' dead EC a month or two back, just for fun and to see how good I could get the squad to become. Bought in a load of European risers, so this is how my squad looks after the recent rating changes:

[center']Dreyer 83

Maicon 87 - Rannochia 88 - Coentrao 90

Gotze 86 - Mendy 82 - Boateng 88 - Ilicic 86

Kagawa 88

Jeffren 85 - Arnautovic 86

Got players like Gunino, Munoz, Aurtenetxe, Theophile-Catherine and Coutinho in reserve. Current squad value is over £120m, so I plan on selling everybody and buying in God knows how many more risers with that money before going for some superstars.

Sitting pretty at the top of Division Four with 52 points after just 18 games, with a staggering 78 goals scored and a goal difference of 64. My only dropped points have been in a 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town and my aim is to go the rest of the season without drawing or losing any of the remaning 20 games, which would leave me as champions on 112 points.

Bit of an update. Here's how my first XI now looks:

De Gea 89

Lahm 94 - Luiz 90 - Coentrao 90

Hazard 90 - Bender 89 - De Jong 91 - Di Maria 92

Pastore 90

Lavezzi 90 - Suarez 91

Players that don't make my first XI include Ranocchia, Ilicic, Sam, Sow, Vorsah, Douglas Costa, Bacinovic, Gaitan and Salvio. Got a healthy supply of money-makers so I'm confident of slowly bringing in some more world class players after the latest addition of Lahm.

Domestically, I'm currently top of Division Three with 34 points from the first 13 games of the second season. I fell short of my target last season by losing the solitary game and finishing on just 97 points, while a staggering 160 goals were scored. Promotion looks assured already with a 9-point lead so my aim is to try and win the English Shield and get into Europe before I reach Division One.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Have finally finished the division 4 challenge , won back to back to back to back titles with Bradford and will now probably sell the team i've neglected so much lately and invest in a whole heap of 90/91 rated younger players and risers instead of the like of Zanetti and Pepe.

Season 1: Division 4 Champions , Points = 97

Season 2: Division 3 Champions , Points = 98

Season 3: Division 2 Champions , Points = 92

Season 4: Division 1 Champions , Points = 89

Never won a cup which is a tad dissapointing but to be fair these were always my 4th/5th/6th team i checked and bothered with so maybe if i put a bit of effort in i'll get somewhere with it.

Now for a revamp i think , here i come Falcao , Rossi , De Gea and the rest :P

Season 1 - Division 4 Runner-Up

Season 2 - Division 3 Winners

Season 3 - Division 2 Winners

Season 4 - 3rd Place, English Shield

Season 5 - Division 1 Winners

Took a little bit longer than others, but it made the journey last longer, harder and generally funner. Here's my winning team:

First Team:

Lloris 92

Van Der Wiel 90 - Pique 95 - Puyol 96 - Marcelo 91

Robben 94 - Sneijder 95 - Busquets 93 - Ozil 93

Dzeko 92 - Higuain 94

Second Team:

Lloris 92

Rafael 89 - Luiz 90 - Badstuber 90 - Coentrao 91

Pedro 93 - M'Vila 90 - Pastore 90 - Di Maria 92

Muller 91

Suarez 91

Players that don't make the first or second team include, Bale & Hazard.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Crikey, I'm amazed this is still going.

68 pages, nice one lads. My earliest GC challenge was Huddersfield - got to Div 1 with an avg rating of 88 and got to the SMFA Shield Quarter Finals as well as winning one cup. Got rid of them a month or two back as I just can't find the time or enthusiasm to go on these days.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

As Season 2 comes to an end and Bradford go back to back champions and a big revamp in mind this is how my squad looks now.

-------------Kraft-------------------

--De Vrij--Dede---Munoz--Contento--

-------------M'vila-------------------

--Coutinho--Kagawa---Ananidze------

---------Lukaku----Necid-------------

Kagawa was loaned in at the beginning of the season and Lukaku later on. After possible transfers stage 1 this is how it should look

--------------Kraft-------------------

--De vrij--Dede--Carvalho--Contento--

-----------Tiote--M'Vila---------------

---Sam------Kagawa-------Malouda---

------------Chamakh------------------

And to buy better defenders and a good AM too. Looking at Hamsik or Pastore if possible.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Got bored of my Swindon when i got into around Season 3, but i took them to Division 1.

Anyway i suppose this is a Division 4 challenge, not intentionally done it for the sake of a Division 4 challenge but after two seasons i've taken West Ham United in a World Championship from Division 4 to Division 2 with a team of players having surnames with the letter A.

Got to the SMFA Shield final on the way aswell, and i've been able to raise plenty of funds to improve on my squad as i look to try and gain promotion to Division 1.

West Ham First Team

Alves (89)

Anyukov (91) Alexis (89) Arbeloa (91)

Ambrosini (91)

Augusto (89) Arteta (90) Anderson (90) Aliyev (90)

Almeida (89) Adebayor (92)

West Ham Reserve Team

Alves (89)

Abate (89) Apam (88) Assou-Ekotto (89)

Aogo (88)

Ayew (88) Albrighton (86) Asamoah (89) Ait-Fana (87)

Adriano (88) Altintop (87)

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Well bored of this challenge the league is so drab! about 8 managers left when once there were about 20 , no competition.

Anyways got so bored i decided to start selling up the higher rated players like Lucio , Pepe , Eto'o etc and brought in some younger players.

Cassilas (95)

Neto (85)

Isla (89) - Subotic (91) - Hummels (91) - Bale (90)

Rafeal (89) - Sakho (90) - Bonnuci (89) - Badstuber (90)

Vidal (90) - Martinez (90)

M'villa (90) - Bender (89)

Pedro (93) - Muller (91) - Di Maria (92)

Nani (92) - Rossi (91) - VDV (92)

Falcao (91)

Hernandez (89)

Other players - Dominguez (88) , Smalling (87) , Banega (89) , Canales (87) , Munian (87)

Still to sell - Botia (87) , Wilson (83) , Chamakh (91) , VDV (92)

will get about 40 million from there sales and may chuck in Canales and Dominguez to that fire sale making the total nearer 50m will buy Neymar (89) , Hazard (89) and maybe some risers for that

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Bit of an update. Here's how my first XI now looks:

De Gea 89

Lahm 94 - Luiz 90 - Coentrao 90

Hazard 90 - Bender 89 - De Jong 91 - Di Maria 92

Pastore 90

Lavezzi 90 - Suarez 91

Players that don't make my first XI include Ranocchia' date=' Ilicic, Sam, Sow, Vorsah, Douglas Costa, Bacinovic, Gaitan and Salvio. Got a healthy supply of money-makers so I'm confident of slowly bringing in some more world class players after the latest addition of Lahm.

I fell short of my target last season by losing the solitary game and finishing on [i']just 97 points, while a staggering 160 goals were scored. Promotion looks assured already with a 9-point lead so my aim is to try and win the English Shield and get into Europe before I reach Division One.

Tonight, Divison Three outfit Brighton and Hove Albion shocked Chelsea by thrashing them 4-2 in the Final of the English Cup. Well, I say "shocked", when really my side is now just as good as the cream of the crop in Division One:

Neuer 92

Lahm 94 - Chiellini 94 - Coentrao 91

De Jong 92

Hazard 91 - Sneijder 95 - De Rossi 94 - Di Maria 92

Lavezzi 91 - Suarez 91

Players in reserve include Luiz, Bender, Ilicic and Costa...but not much else beyond that. Got some money-makers to cash in on in the next week or so, so I can work on resolving that issue. I'll need that added depth now that I'm competing in Europe next season! :P

The Division Three title is all but sewn up, with a mere draw on Wednesday all that's needed to seal back-to-back promotions with six games to spare.

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Thought I would throw my hat into the ring and apply to this division 4 challenge thingy. I took over a Barnsley that were relegated to division 4, in the forumer packed Anno Domini. There were a few players there, no doubt from a Scottish follower. The team wasn't the best when I took over. I didn't get around to doing transfers for a few weeks, and I had only brought in Gaitan for Izaguirre and 3 million from an internal team. There were a few minor risers to come in, most notably, Kevin Trapp as a second keeper. He went from 77 to 82.

Getting rid of the team mostly through p/e, and 3 others for better cash than p/e, I have brought in a bunch of good players between the rating of 87 to 89. Obviously there are a few risers here and there, a few from Uruguay that were missed. More players worth bringing in now are gone here then in EC106. It's not easy. But buying players here you have to be smart. Buy players that will have a large resell on value. And you have to pick up players that are young enough as well.

The first major signing was Gaitan. A talent no doubt, but one I will aim to sell on in a few weeks after his TB. To improve the team. Nearly every player came in for a 2 of mine deal.

The goalie in is Shay Given. Great keeper, wrong team. Will Manchester City allow him to go elsewhere?

CB's, Van Buyten, Yussuf, Puygrenier and Garay.

Midfielder's. Pedro Leon, Gargano, Muntari, Perrotta, Gaitan.

Forwards. Zarate and Dentinho.

There is 10 million left in the kitty, all my old players are out. I have a few people I want. And whatever is left may be put to risers coming up.

I am in a good league position, and with a team average above 88, I hope to get promoted this season. And then the headache of who to sell comes about. :D

I thought this would be worth updating. There is a good deal of luck and timing when picking up good players. Some of them were signed at the beginning, and were duly sold off when their TB's were up. And starting as a division 4 side, and picking them up for cheap, as they are at big teams in real life, has given me a big boost.

With that bit of money I had left, I brought in Altintop for 4.1 million! Could cash be any better spent? He is fairly young still, and his position of Mid will mean he will probably be at my team for a long time. I know he won't start at Real Madrid, but he will be on the bench to come in there. That's an example of the bit of luck and good timing. I had him shortlisted for when he came off TB. He would have been gone a few days later. Much like a few of my prior signings, and certainly of this next signing.

With Zarate and Dentinho, I knew I needed a third striker, preferably a CF. A former real life legend, Michael Owen, joined for 3.3 million. Again, that's good spending. He will be around for a bit, especially if he does well in real life. He was brought in to score, and he has done that. 7 starts, 8 goals and 9 assists. Zarate has missed a few through injury, 5,6,0 for him. Dentinho has 9(3),4,4. It seems that CF's score more here.

With the rest of the cash I brought in a few, cheap, impending risers from Uruguay and Argentina. Actually, I had brought them in even before the above 2 players. Most were not what I would have wanted, mostly +3. Argentina was underrated I feel. Abero went +5, and Orue went +6. Both were cheap from 75, and both will go in a p/e. I have 2 from Norway, which was well scouted, which may get +5's I'm hoping. Also, I brought in a 60 rated keeper so that I can swap Trapp out. That's a tip I would give to anyone, bring in a third or fourth keeper on 300 bob wages to cover being able to swap out your second or first keeper. And obviously bring in a good one as well! :P

I say that, as one of the teams, who had a new manager, played a 60 something rated Barnet keeper playing after he strengthened his outfield team. With his old goalie. I would start looking at keepers first. He lost 4-0. And I have been getting big results since I've brought in my first team. 8-2, 6-0, 6-1, and 3 matches of 4-0. The goals are flying in. 45-12 which has me in first with 35 points. No games lost or drawn in the league for 9 games. I hope to keep up that winning streak. :) I have 241k left, which will be gone soon, and I hope to get a good cash bid for Gaitan. It's funny, you can put a player on the TL, a good one, and you won't receive many offers that would meet your valuation. You have him got to a level 5 concern, then you will get those maximum cash bids. It makes no sense to me. :)

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Tonight' date=' Divison Three outfit Brighton and Hove Albion shocked Chelsea by thrashing them 4-2 in the Final of the English Cup. Well, I say "shocked", when really my side is now just as good as the cream of the crop in Division One:

[center']Neuer 92

Made my best signing this morning, and my first from a rival manager having just about got the best out of external that I can - certainly in terms of the really high-rated player. Andres Iniesta arrived at Brighton's new AMEX Stadium, with Wesley Sneijder and David Luiz moving to Chelsea in exchange. Happy days. Also made a couple more noticeable additions from external that makes my first XI look like so:

Neuer 92

Lahm 94 - Pepe 93 - Chiellini 93

De Jong 92

Iniesta 97 - De Rossi 94 - Kaka 94 - Di Maria 92

Lavezzi 91 - Gomez 93

Aim to use Kaka, who I though I may as well purchase for the bargain price of £2.7m + Ilicic + Ebecilio, and another to bring another top-class CM, while a better Fwd instead of Lavezzi is desired as well. Got players like Hazard, Coentrao and Cassano that can only make the bench, with my other squad-fillers including Matri, Abate, Costa, and Nagatomo. I need a bigger squad this season (Season Three) since I'm in the SMFA Shield having won the English Shield last season, with Spartak Moskva the first to feel Brighton's wrath on Tuesday just gone.

Started the league season with a win and, unbelievably a defeat - they're few and far between for Brighton. Somehow, my team of 93-rated mega-stars couldn't beat 84-rated Sheffield Wednesday! Oh well, at least it was Wednesday that we lost to! :D

Re: The Division 4 Challenge!

Managed 309 games with this Rochdale

Hart (91)

Alves (95) Puyol (96) Ivanovic (92) Cheillini (94)

Cambiasso (95)

Xavi (97) Sneidjer (95)

Higuain (94)------------------------Pedro (93)

Torres (94)

Players who fail to make the starting XI include:

Badstuber (90)

Cissokho (90)

Meireles (91)

Muller (92)

Hazard (91)

A. Sanchez (91)

Hulk (91)

Falcao (91)

Tremoulinas (89)

Lukaku (88)

Gotze (89)

Howedes (89)

Keep them all happy by rarely playing the team above, instead rotating between most of my 90 rated players.. got me to 2nd this season.

and some others.

Not going to win the league this season (finished 4th, 7th and 4th in my 3 seasons in div 1 after winning div's 4, 3, 2 and 1 by big margins)

Won the cup 3 times but never won the shield. Got a shield semi against Sunerland and a cup final against Spurs to look forward to.
