How do you turn an image into a jpg file?

Is it possible?

I did that as part of my IT Coursework a while back but I can't remember how to do it. Sorry , Michael. :(

I've just texted my mate and he replied like this :

If u are using Windows XP all u have to do is open the image in Paint and select File-->Save As option...

when the dialog box appears type the file name u want and select the type of format u want from the dropdown menu under file name..and click Save...

Now u can change the format in anymanner u like..
