Dan Griffin 3,682
Re: Football Manager 2009 Started a new game with Spurs..£32m to spend, not bad, originally started with Everton but found out they only have £1m to spend so i left instantly and went to Tottenham and they have £32m, i want to do a challenge with a side not in the top 4 but are pushing for the Championsleague. Signed: Lass Diarra Glen Johnson Jermaine Defoe Belletti (loan) Jankulovski (loan) Rodney Sneijder and Phil Jagielka Sold: Boateng Gilberto Assou Ekotto Tarabet and Dawson Still got £30m in the bank if anywhere needs to be looked into. Not in debt and the way im going, i won't be either so im happy with that Now for the results. I put the assistant manager managing friendlies on too btw. Hartlepool 0-1 Spurs Leyton Orient 1-5 Spurs Chievo 0-1 Spurs Huddersfield 0-3 Spurs Germinal Beerschot 1-3 Roda JC 0-7 Not very hard opposition but im happy with the way the squad was performing in pre season. Now for the league. Newcastle 2-1 Spurs, we were pressing well towards the end, Diarra was showing ALOT of determination towards the end and got a goal in the 86th minute, and then hit the bar in the 91st Spurs 1-0 Bolton, got straight back to winning ways with this win over Bolton, Pavlyuchenko scoring in the 10th minute. Spurs 3-0 Middlesbrough, Well deserved win imo, Defoe impact sub, came on at half time and score twice, With Lennon finally breaking the deadlock in the 55th minute. Fulham 1-2 Spurs, happy with this performance although conceding a goal in the 84th minute started to concern me. Goals from Belletti and Pavlyuchenko secured all 3 points for the Spurs. Spurs 3-1 FC Twente, VERY hapy with this performance as we were 1-0 down, Bentley and Jankulovski scored in the 83rd and 88th minute. And Modric scoring in the 69th minute Spurs 1-1 Villa, Good all round performance, Lennon got on the scoresheet in the 48th minute, before all hopes were dented in the 68th minute when Carew scored. League Cup: Spurs 0-3 Middlesbrough, no excuses, got absoloutely battered, was trying out a new formation and it didnt work :L Pavlyuchenko and Defoe can't work together upfront so i have to use them as rotation. 4th in the table after 5 games, 10 points, Newcastle top on 12. Dreading of playing Man City though There squads amazing. They've spent all their budget, £85m, Palacios, Kinksy, Arshavin, Joao Moutinho, Zhirkov, Srna and Hamsik, surprised they havn't bought Vagner Love and Valencia, having the feeling i might make a move for Valencia in the winter market if i need to, otherwise i'll invest on a half decent center mid, wich im afraid i may have to make a bid for now and secure his signature. Next games at home to United, looking for a win
