Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread

That is what it means in Dutch...

In German it means awesome (obviously).

It can actually mean that in German too (albeit you appear like a Jeremy Kyle guest when you actually use it like that) but it is used more often as a synonym for awesome, very cool etc. etc.

Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread

Incredible to think that we drew 2-2 with Bayern only six years ago and they've been in 3 of the last UCL finals and we've done nothing.

Delighted for Munich however, there 2nd goal wouldn't have happened in Ribery and Dante were correctly sent-off and Lewandowski as well so who knows what would have happened. It will be interesting to see how Dortmund cope next year

Some good ties to look forward to on streaming sites in July.

What I want to know is how UEFA determine what club plays in what round? Celtic for example beat Barcelona and got to the last 16 in the CL last season, Dinamo Zargreb are CL regulars and BATE beat Bayern (lol) last season in the CL.

By using UEFA-coefficients.

Think Celtic will find it tough against Elfsborg when they will play at their place considering the fact that it's a plastic pitch. Also the fact that Celtic are currently in pre-season and Elfsborg are half-way through their season. I reckon they'll go through but they will find it difficult.

Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread

Shaktar K are no mugs though on their plastic pitch in the middle of nowhere, not exactly a good tie for anyone to play, they haven't let in a goal in last 5 at home including 2 CL qualifiers including against BATE who are not that bad a team.

Celtic have had to play on plastic pitches against all 3 opponents in qualifiers and every one has a different surface, Celtic should still go through over the 2 legs though.

Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion thread

I was laughing so much when the second goal went in.

Now for Fenerbache to beat Arsenal tomorrow :P

Would love to see Fener qualify, some quality players i'd like to see be tested in major european competitions, eg Eminike, Sow and Potuk. As well i'd love to see Dirky on Europes mainstage again.

More misery for Arsenal is never a bad thing either.
