Re: Gold Championship 26 Transfers / Reports Thread

Some strange and frustating offers in the past few days for Sevilla.

After enquiring about Nasri, Arsenal asked for Kanoute and Luis Fabiano. A deal of Luis Fabiano and Duscher was later agreed, but when Sefton went to make an offer, he found that a deal had already been agreed with Fiorentina.

Then the Stuttgart manager made a 'killer' offer (his words not mine), of Gomez for Kanoute and Capel...

A somewhat strange offer of Guardado for Renato, straight swap has been accepted, although Sefton says he is expecting that this deal won't go through.

Meanwhile Escude is going to Liverpool for £5m and Dossena. This means that Fernando Navarro is available!

Looking for an 88+ RB, and 88+ CM.

Luis Fabiano is STILL available. Looking for a 90+ F or CF, and 88+ CM.

Nasri joins with Schweinsteiger at the club, as Mutu leaves for Arsenal. Fiorentina seal Morientes on loan as well but the Spaniard will be left out for the opening match on Saturday, as Philp will opt for one up front with Gilardino leading the line. Philp is still looking to sell Pasqual the left back, and hopes to use the defender in a deal to find a much-needed right back.

Bordeaux Bossin

So far so good as the first game of the season ends well for Bordeaux in France and the title challenge has begun. Chamakh opened the scoring opened the scoring 15 minutes in with a tidy finish past Heurtebis in the Nantes goal. Former Croatian hitman Ivan Klasnic scored the equalizer 21 minutes in thanks to a deflection deceiving Rame. Young Frenchman Yohan Gouffran then brought back the lead with a powerful finish 8 minutes later. Fernado Cavenaghi scored a screamer to seal it securing the first 3 points of the season for Bordeaux.

Latest From The Fenerbahce Camp

I think it's fair to say that the result against Fenerbahce wasn't deserved. If it wasnt for Afellay and his foolish ways, i would have predicted an easy win.

Its also clear that manager Adam Selby is disapointed with his first result as he classed it as an easy '3' points, however he realises that it's still early doors and the first game so there is still time to mould with his players and the tactics next week need to be just right.

In his next league fixture against Ankaragucu he expects his players to put on a performance for the fans to reward them for their loss at Trabzonspor and clinch a vital three points in a quest for league success.

Re: Gold Championship 26 Transfers / Reports Thread

Despite Sporting's embarrasing defeat to Maritimo, Toggs says the squad is definitly ready and will bounce back to take maximum points from their next fixture. With Kheidra arriving later today for 9.1M in part of the Veloso deal, Toggs says the transformation is complete and the new look team is leap and bounds beter than the old one.

Through the summer, a total of 10 players have joined Sporting, and 11 left. The notable arrivals were French pair Valbuena & Cheryou, German pairing Tasci & Khedira. Shabani Nonda & Gabriel Tamas. Veloso, Postiga, Liedson, Mouthino & Tiui amougst other left.

The squad loks yong and good. The oldest player is 31 in Shabani Nonda and he is the only player over 30. Sporting have a total of 14 players under 25. Toggs says he has the perfect blend of experience & youth.

Their is plenty to look out for aswell, Fluminese in the first round of the UEFA Cup which is now 2 legs. That will be no easy match but Toggs believes Sporting can put their mark on Europe and get far.

More To Come.

Chicago Fire D.C. United

Gonzalo SEGARES (52)

Justin MAPP (53)

Chicago Fire kick started their season with a win in the first game against D.C. United. This is what manager Rishabh Desai had tp say:"Well it was a good result for us. Winning in the first game of the season is always good and we hope that we can carry on getting these good results.

The first half was very close. It was more of a midfleild battle. Both teams held the ball well and made some really good attack-ups. Fire defender, Bakary SOUMARE hit the post very early on in the game and Fire did put alot of pressure on the D.C. defence but without any success.

Finallt in the 53rd minute Fire defender, Gonzalo SEGARES broke the deadlock. And just a minute later Justin MAPP scored fires second as he smasher the ball into the back of the net securing all three points for the home team.

Sevilla Complete Guardado Signing

p1_guardado_0301.jpg

Mexican international Andrés Guardado has joined Sevilla for a fee of £11.5m and Dirnei Renato. Sefton says Renato has been out of form for a while, and with the arrival of Palombo in for Adriano and £8m the other day, Sefton has killed two birds with one stone, as Renato became surplus to requirements and a left-sided player was required.

Andrea Dossena and Luis Fabiano are both still available. Looking for an 87+ RB, 88+ CM or AM, and 90+ F or CF. Will swap Fabiano for any 2 of those, and Dossena and possible cash for 1.

14th minute BOOKING - Pablo Aimar of Benfica brought down his marker with a reckless challenge leaving the man in a heap on the floor, obviously making the most of it.

15th minute BOOKING - After a high challenge, Miguel Jorge Ribeiro of Benfica was cautioned and given a firm talking to by the referee. You can clearly see Ribeiro crying like a three year old who had dropped their ice cream.

23rd minute GOAL - Milan Mrdakovic of Vitoria headed home a cross from the right earning himself his first goal of the season, and most importantly giving his team a one goal cushion.

32nd minute GOAL - Benfica are back level through centre back Moreira David Luiz. A stunning goal from the young man, after making his way past a handful of defenders, he lashed home a great effort.

39th minute CHANCE - Just as David Suazo thought his shot would nestle in the corner of the net, it was cleared away at full stretch and out for a corner much to his disbelief.

42nd minute GOAL - Benfica were in front just before half time, thanks to Oscar Cardozo's powerful finish after the defender's attempted clearance hit him in the face and rolled into the Paraguayan's path.

HALF TIME 1-2

49th minute GOAL - Just four minutes after the restart, Vitoria's new Belgium signing Bart Goor finished off a sensational move with a slick finish, reminicent of Thierry Henry.

74th minute BOOKING - Lourenco Leo of Benfica is booked for diving, despite the crowd holding up scores of ten in the background on cardboard cut outs. After much booing, Leo got up and pranced away.

Awful day for Sevilla.

Fabiano has gone for Lavezzi and Gargano and cash. Bad deal for me, but I need the depth, and with Napoli doing well IRL those 2 could rise.

Now Squillaci is suspended and Maresca injured, after drawing 1-1 with Sporting Gijon. KILLED them on stats, but couldn't finish them off. :(

Luis Fabiano helped guide napoli to there first points of the season in a 2-1 win over Bologna.

Although not on the scoresheet Fabiano hit the woodwork 3 times and it wont be long before the Napoli fans forget who former striker Lavezzi is.

after a 2-0 victory over almeria on the opening day barca crash to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of atletico madrid

manager tony beddows is quite amused. this is barca this is the first few games. this is what happens, as we do not really expect to win many games in the early part of the season and we do not really care how many we lose by

we have a few new guys and a new formation so we are in no rush, when it clicks it clicks simple as that

bojan may come in at the weekend for the seville game and will partner totti up top, who even if he does not score will play just because he is totti

henry and etto still available players in all positions wanted

Match Report

9th minute CHANCE - A cross is whipped into the box with Nuno Gomes leaping the highest, only to see his header graze the top of the bar. He looks disgusted with himself as it was a free header.

10th minute CHANCE - Setubal's right winger Bueno Danilo Portugal sees his supurb volley come crashing back of the near post, unlucky.

18th minute CHANCE - Luis Leandro Lima provides Setubal's next chance, only to see his beautiful lob cleared off the line by the waiting defender.

29th minute BOOKING - Pablo Aimar picks up his second booking in as many games after a high challenge left his marker in a crumpled heap on the floor.

35th minute BOOKING - A studs up challenge by Luis Leandro Lima gets only a yellow card much to the Benfica players' disbelief, the referee should be shot. Oh wait he has been and is being taken off on a stretcher. The backup referee is going to take control of the remaining part of the game.

75th minute SUBSTITUTION - Setubal make their second change as Bueno Danilo Portugal is replaced by Liam Millar, once on the books of Manchester United.

After a 2-2 draw to start the season, Tigre are now top of the argentinian league 2, after winning their last 3 games. They have scored 6 goals, and only conceded 1 goal, in the past 3 games. They are top with 10 points, 1 clear from their nearest challengers Colon. Egyptian Emad Moteab has been a star up front, and a real bargain buy, hes got 3goals from 4 games with 2 MOTM performances

Great Day For Chelsea

Chelsea have started the season brilliantly, winning all 5 of their competitive matches, and taking a draw in the Real Betis friendly match. Berbatov has settled well and is comfortable in his role as a lone striker, however the Chelsea strikers (Berba and Cavenaghi) are having disciplinary problems, both are suspended (Berba = 2 games, Cav = 3 games), meaning Florent Sinama Pongolle will be making his competitive debut tonight!

Last night was Chelsea's first SMFA CC game, in which they ran out comfortable 2-1 winners away from home, however Berbatov was injured and will be out for 11 days.

This morning Samra went into work to find that a lot of his players had 'improved':

54003197sw1.png

This will surely help Chelsea's cause, as they look to take the title back in devastating fashion!
