Dan Griffin 3,682
Re: Gold Championship 33 - Match Reports/Transfers Gold Championship 33 Season 2, Turn 13 SPL Update - Hearts Hearts Still Staying Strong At The Top. Hearts 2-2 Celtic H. Kewell '17 S. Nakamura '32 S. Mikolunias '46 M. Mido '65 Venue: Tynecastle Capacity: 19,432 Attendance: 19,428 Referee: Damir Skomina Hearts Egyptian Striker Mido Saves His Club Once Again. Celtic started the game really strong believing they could come out with all 3 points but they knew it wouldnt be easy as the Hearts manager also manages a strong International side, Turkey. Griffin shows no shortage of Experience and knows how to beat big sides. But lets get on with the action. Hearts started off strongly, going 1-0 up after 17 minutes when a spectacular 28 yard shot flies into the top corner of the Hearts defending net. 15 minutes later Celtic extended there lead in the top 2 clash at the top of the SPL when Shunsuke Nakamura hits a trademark free-kick into the top corner once again of the Hearts Defending net. Both teams go into the half time break with Celtic leading the current SPL leaders 2-0 at Tynecastle. As the teams come out of the dressing rooms for the second half, Griffin has called for his old players to use there experience to get them back into this epic encounter. And Hearts do that exactly as they earn a corner and it wasn't cleared properley and it fell to 24 year old Saulius Mikoliunias who hits it on the half volley and it crashes into the roof of the Celtic Defending net. Time was running out for Hearts and the players were becoming nervous but Hearts had one man to look up to, Hossam Mido. And he knew he had to deliver if they were to get anything out of the game, and he did, when a lovely through ball was feeded into his path, he hammered a high shot into the goal off the right hand post. Both teams could have won the game late on but the game ended 2-2. A fair result for both teams Cevallos Hoyte - Berra - Sylvinho - Karypidis - Kingston - Yorke - Palazuelos - Mikoliunas Mido - Zuma -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gold Championship 33 Season 2, Turn 14 SPL Update - Hearts Hearts 2-2 Kilmarnock Chermiti '12 Bryson '16 Mido '56 Palazuelos '72 Venue: Tynecastle Capacity: 19,432 Attendance: 19,383 Referee: Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez Hearts Egyptian Striker Mido Settling In Well And Is Already Making A Name For Himself. Kilmarnock started this game off going 2-0 up within the first 20 minutes and make a better start at Tynecastle than Celtic did last saturday. But Kille know that Hearts have the strength to equalise and they wont go down without a fight, Tynecastle is yet to witness a home loss for Hearts and they fear that Kille could be the ones to defeat Tynecastle. Kille were first to react when on loan young Tunisian striker Mohammed Chermiti took the advantage of a defensive mix up in the Hearts box and Hearts found themselves one-nil down once again. Four minutes later Kille struck again and another mix up but this time in midfield allowed Craig Bryson to run through and slam a low shot past Hearts keeper Francisco Cevallos. The teams went into the half time interval at 2-0 to Kille. As the teams come out for the second half, yet again Griffin calls for the experience of his older players to give Hearts a chance. 11 Minutes into the final half, Hearts pulled one back, and guess who scored it, yes, Hossam Mido got his 8th goal in a Hearts shirt as he has a magical moment were he took on 5 Kilmarnock players and cheekily lobs the Kille keeper. With 35 minutes left on the clock, the next goal is vital for both teams. In the 72nd minute Hearts were awarded a free kick from 24 yards out, Hossam Mido took it but it hit the bar and Ruben Palazuelos slammed the rebound into the back of the net and equalised for Hearts, Tynecastle was shaking from the crowd cheering and chanting. Hearts then went on to search for a winner but it was just not to be found. The game ended 2-2. Cevallos Hoyte - Berra - Sylvinho - Karypidis - Kingston - Yorke - Palazuelos - Cakir Mido - Zuma Next up for Hearts is an away game to joint bottom Inverness Caledonian Thistle. A game Hearts are expected to win. Match Preview to come soon. Nick Justice
Hunty 4,137
Re: Gold Championship 33 - Match Reports/Transfers Oz edging closer to their World Cup dream! Rhys Hunt's Australia continue their quest for the world cup at the end of the season, after winning 3 out of 3 of their qualifying games so far this campaign, Hunt's men looked to make it 4 out of 4 when they lined up against Ryan's, Lithuania. Hunt said this before the game, "We will not take Lithuania lightly, they're not a bad side, and will provide my side with a tough test, thats for sure". Hunt has also said he is looking for his captain, Tim Cahill, to shine once again on the international stage. Hunt's men started the game very well, attacking Lithuania's defence and pushing them right back on the edge of their own box. The first brake through of the game came when Oz and Blackburn midfielder, Brett Emerton, uses his pass and power and blasts the ball into the back of the net, giving the Lithuanian keeper no chance. Rhys Hunt's men then made it 2-0, when CM, Vince Grella, smashes a shot in off the woodwork after some great passing split the Lituania defence apart, that is the type of football that the 56,000 fans want too see inside the Telstra Dome. The second half started with Lithuania coming out all guns blazing against Hunt's side, with chances falling to Lithuania on numerous occasions. Then Australia hit back with some pressure of their own, with Scott McDonald and goalscorer, Brett Emerton coming close. Then in the 80th minute, after soking up pressure from the opposition, Oz hit Lithuania on the counter, with a long ball over the defence, and Scott McDonald runs onto the ball and finishes cooly and put the game too bed. Rhys Hunt's, Australia, now sit top of their group winning all four of their games so far, with two games remaining, Oz sit top of the group, six points ahead of second place, Uruaguay, but Rhys Hunt has said celebrations will be delayed until it is certain they have made it too the World Cup. The socceroo's celebrating their third and finally goal, to all but qualify for the World Cup Nick Justice
Dan Griffin 3,682
Re: Gold Championship 33 - Match Reports/Transfers Turks Beat Costa Rica In 5 Goal Qualifying Thriller! Costa Rica 2-3 Turkey Ruiz '50 Zan '57 Saborio '59 Unal '73 Turan '78 Venue: Ricardo Saprissa Ayma Capacity: 23,112 Attendance:21,942 Referee: Paul Melln Turkey Captain Arda Turan Scores The Winning Goal For Turkey To Give Them Qualifying Hope. The first half of this international qualifying match was dull and boring. Shots flying in from everywhere but nothing going in, the two keepers looked unbeatable. It was Turkey who looked the better side and the side to score first but the Costa Rican keeper was unbeatable in the first half keeping a clean sheet. Costa didnt show up in the first half at all and both sides went into the break at a dull stalemate 0-0. As the two internationals came out for the second half it was Costa Rica who made the early break through going 1-0 up in the first 5 minutes of the second half. As Bryan Ruiz shot from an acute angle the ball was deflected and hit the far post and in. Turkey responded with many shots but still could not get past the Rican keeper. 7 Minutes after going 1-0 down Turkey replied when they equalised for 1-1 when Gokhan Zan hit a powerful shot onto the keepers far post and in. 2 Minutes later Costa Rica extended the lead to 2-1 when Alvaro Saborio dashed into the box and lashed home from 15 yards. The game looked to be done and dusted at 2-1 to Costa Rica but Gokhan Unal and Arda Turan had other idea's when they combined together to give there home nation a 3-2 win when they both scored a goal each and to have hopes for the World Cup. Turan ran through half the Costa Rican players and hammered into the bottom corner whereas Gokhan Unal finished more cool'ly as he sidefooted into the keepers top right. Final Score: Costa Rica 2-3 Turkey. Turkey face Norway on the 15th May and will be hoping for a win if they are to qualify for the '09 World Cup. Yes, Hearts win 4-0 away to Inverness, and guess who scores a double? Ahmed Mido This player is in fine form and thats why he's top scorer in the SPL with 10 goals. Anywho, back to the action. Hearts travelled the short distance to Inverness coming off the back of 2, 2-2 straight draws. They come here in search of a win and to get there campaign back on track with a win to keep them top of the league. Now, it started dull for Inverness with Phil Mcguire being sent off in the 14th minute. After the sending off, Hearts really found there stride and totally commanded control in this game. It took until the 50th minute for Hearts to break the deadlock, when Mehmet Cakir curled it round the unsighted keeper. 7 Minutes later Ruben Palazuelos took full advantage of a bad back pass to the Inverness keeper as he intercepted and swept home sweetly. Thistle attacked and attacked but still could not find a breakthrough. In the 71st minute, Hearts caught Thistle out on a counter attack when Mido volleyed the long ball over the keeper. Then in the 81st minute, Mido took advantage of a scramble in the box to fling the ball into the bottom corner and put the game beyond Inverness's hopes. Hearts' next game is at home to Motherwell in there quest to gain European action next season when they play them in the Scottish Shield Semi Final at Tynecastle. Nick Justice also spoke to SS1 and said "Well, Its Bowen and Inter Milan so i will not be expecting much against such a Talented Club, Champions last season away from Home, with 3 key players missing duo to suspension and injury, i will not exspect much but if we are to pull of a win, it be sensionally great, however me and Inter bosss have a muntial Friendship so i wish him all best thise season and during the game, were good mates, theres sure to be som banter after the game mind, we hope for no ground trouble, and i would like to wish my team and his luck." Juve kicked off the game and the whole of the world would witness a cracking game. Inter took the lead on the 13 minute after Robinho climbed the highest to head into the back of the net, Inter's fans were going crazy in the corner of the stadium, and 3 minutes later Inter doubled there lead Zlatan Ibrahimovich running onto a through ball and smashing it into the top corner. Inter were cruising but Juventus hit back, Del Piero finishing his second attempt with a toe-poke. Inter didnt take long to restore there 2 goal lead, Zlatan Ibrahimovich's shot taking a huge deflection and wrong footed the keeper. Inter went into the break at 3-1, a score that no-one would of predicted at the start of the game. Robinho and Ibrahimovich x2 getting the first half goals for Inter Del Piero getting Juventus's goal after 24 minutes After the break, both teams came out onto the pitch Inter the happier. Juventus started the second half on top, which they needed to, Del Piero going the closest. On the 65th minute the game was dead and buried, Zlatan Ibrahimovich getting the ball after an error at the back for Juve and rounding the keeper. A hat-trick for Ibrah, nothing can stop this guy go. Both teams had chances after the goal but the score stayed at 4-1 and Inter deservingly getting the 3 points. Man of the match:Zlatan Ibrahimovich Ibrahimovich getting his 3rd goal on the 65th minute. So a good 3 points for Inter next up are Fiorentina. Nick Justice

Hunty 4,137
Re: Gold Championship 33 - Match Reports/Transfers Celtic were last night looking to bounce back from their shock 3-0 defeat against Dundee last week, and last night they lined up against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Rhys Hunt's Celtic side were full strength against a much weaker Inverness side, which Hunt said he expects his side too win comfortably. Celtic opened the scoring in the 12th minute, when on-loan Paolo De Ceglie when he smashed in a volley from 30 yards out. Then Hunt's side doubled their lead when striker, Igor De Camargo, spun and struck the ball low into the bottom corner of the net. Then just two minutes later, Inverness grabbed a goal back, when Garry Wood, slots home from 10 yards. At halftime the score is Celtic 2-1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Celtic started off the second half brightly with Nakamura coming close with a long range effort. Then in the 56th minute, Inverness equalised, when Garry Wood bagged his second goal of the game. Rhys Hunt's side then cranked up a gear, and started to pile the pressure back onto Inverness, the pressure paid off when striker, Igor De Camargo, scored his second goal of the game too put Celtic 3-2 up. Then on the 77th minute, De Camargo's strike partner got in on the goals, when Ezequiel Lavezzi smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Then just two minutes later, Lavezzi sealed the win for Hunt's side with a superb header, to get his second of the match. The game finished Celtic 5-2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle. This result lifts Celtic from 3rd place too 2nd place, Dundee now leap-frog, Dan Griffin's, Hearts into first place. Rhys Hunt's Celtic only sit two points behind leaders, Dundee United. The only downside too last night's match was the injury to star centre back, Ezequiel Garay, who suffered a gashed leg and will be out for up too 4 weeks. The next match for Celtic is on Monday, in the Champions League group stages, against Boca Junoirs, with both sides already through too the knock-out stages of the competition.
