Re: carrick overlooked

Haha' date=' I love the way this is coming from a fan of a team who haven't won for anything for four years.

Anyway, Carrick made 48 appearances last season for the Premiership Champions, European Champions, and, arguably, the best team in the world. I think he deserves a 92.[/quote']

Touche, the old four years line. Nva heard that b4 ;):P

I still think for a player to warrent 92 you shld notice if their gone, Carrick is a solid player but to all you Man Utd fans...if he was to leave the club tomorrow would u honestly care?!?

Not just like mild annoyance care as in burying ur heads in ur hands, swearing at BBC Sport caring?

I know if Van Persie (a recent 91 -> 92 riser) did i would... But Carrick

Re: carrick overlooked

Well apparently' date=' only 2 of the "big 4" are profitable at the moment. One is United, I can't remember if the other is Arsenal or Liverpool... debt means nothing if you can pay it off. ;)[/quote']

Its Arsenal. Its always between us and Real Madrid has to who makes the most profit, then we dont spend that profit :(

Compared to Chelsea who are like a billion in debt and spend money that isnt theirs....

Re: carrick overlooked

...

Carrick is worth 92 easily' date=' Hargreaves i can understand because of his fitness.

Carrick's only been injured a week and a half... no way he deserves to miss out for that.

Hargreaves is an absolute quality player, and he played a big part in last season's success.

Yer the Wes Brown thing is ridiculous... how can he be on the same rating as Gary Neville who he played a whole season instead of... and how can Sagna get a 92 for playing all season for Arsenal, and playing for France, when Brown played all season for the double winners and is now the regular England right back................

what's all that about?

Scholes 94 as well :P[/quote']

Admittedly Brown was hard done by by Sagna was voted best RB in the premiership last season by FIFA. 92 is the best RB rating in the premiership (forgetting Boswinga who wasnt there last season)...

Not denying that for a second' date=' the fact ur about to go Bust cheers me up a bit though :D[/quote']

us going bust (wont happen) will not help you finally win a trophy again tho will it :P , I know we don't win them but seems we are going bust it doesn't really matter now does it :D

AVFC 4 LIF3 - hmm yea nice post hope you know if it wasn't for the people who live outside the cities supporting them (inc Villa) they would not be "big" clubs as making money from the people who live there wouldn't be enough.

anyways back on topic, I still think Carrick is as good as if not better than Barry, I think Carrick is under rated by quite a lot of fans.

0, ur a Liverpool supporter...ah, my respect for you has just doubled :)

It is Man Utd and Chelsea who are likely to go bust due to a combination of planned new FIFA regulations and the credit crunch...its unlikely to happen as people dont wanna c the top teams in the world "doing a Leeds" but fingers crossed, eh?:D

So when the top teams have gone....How about we'll take the EPL and u can have the Champions League again, sound fair? ;)

It's almost impossible. FIFA have absolutely zero power over how much any club is allowed to spend. That's all controlled by the clubs themselves, the banks that are lending the money, EU trade regulations and UK law. FIFA would be violating jesus knows how many international laws if they tried to control club finances in that way. They can talk about it all they like, but we'll all be dead long before that rule is enforced. Sepp Blatter is just on a power trip again.

arsenal still have a £250m debt for the stadium (bond issue it is i believe), and as far as i am aware they are having difficulties selling off all the flats on where highbury was (which was due to pay off a large part of the bond issue) but due to the prices being way above market value many are apparently trying to get out of buying the flats, but arsenal still take in a huge amount of matchday revenue and the debt does not seem to be a factor at the moment, so its happy days for them.

liverpool's loan is up for refinancing at the end of jan - which should be fun :)

man united's situation could be interesting - not sure when the loans for them need to be refinanced, and considering a large chunk was from a hedge fund charging a huge interest rate they may have a few difficulties, although they would have other options (relisting on stock exchange, selling stake to outside investors etc) - rumour has it though that if they have difficulties in the next year or so the fund may force them to sell one or two players to get their money back, which of course another option (and i think we can guess who that player will be ;))

as for chelsea, rumour has it abramovich lost something like £16bn in value when the Russian stock markets reopened the other day (although it should rise back to around what it was very quickly though) and it is unlikely to affect them IMO

Yeah that would be pretty awsome :P

Although I think we would have to strike a deal, its been forever since we won the league title so give us that in the first year and you can have the CL as I don't think Arsenal have lifted that yet.

Then after that you could have the EPL and we have the CL, or maybe rotate :).

Shame Man Utd will never go bust tho :(

soooo anyways carrick.... :o

I doubt that 16bn figure was in pounds sterling... he was only worth £14bn to begin with wasn't he? Or is it the oil company that lost that value, which Abrahmovic only owns part of? Or could it have been £1.6bn maybe?

Soory - £12bn according to the press association - 2 of his companies (evraz and highland gold) lost that much value, although seeing as the moscow stock markets were shut for a while it was probably the initial panic that caused the fall in value and it most likely picked up later in the day (as usually is the case)

Re: carrick overlooked

Back to football. Carrick played an integral part in the DOUBLE Premiership winners success. I can see there could be essences of ABU on this forum as well, and yet people wonder why the man utd boards are so biased.. Ne'er the less, If Manchester United win the World Club Cup once more, i think the players should be in line for a special rise.

Carrick should be a wee bit higher, but then gain hargo should be at 93 for his ability. Rb, RM, CM, FK specialist (as Arsenal found out) lol. The dude's tendinitis problem is getting on my nerve now.. :(

Re: carrick overlooked

I really find it hard to believe how SM and people on this forum underrate Carrick. He is a brilliant passer of the ball and consistently builds the attack for United. He was a HUGE part of their last two Premiership titles and the Champions League (did you see how he out played Iniesta and Xavi against Barcelona). With Carrick missing in the beginning of the season, United are only in 8th position. They are a better team with him in the lineup and now that he is fit he will go back into his starting spot, where he plays more than any other Man United midfielder. And for his lack of England appearances, all I can say is...well, they are hardly the model of success are they? I'll take the opinion of Sir Alex Ferguson (who paid 18.6 million for Carrick and recently gave him a new 5 year contract) over Capellos. The man is a 92 easily.

*For the record I can't stand Man United and wouldn't mind if they get relegated, but I am just looking at this from an unbiased viewpoint, I suggest some others should do the same.

dude, that tournament is nothing special - look at the teams you'll come across in it - if you had teams like boca and america i may agree with you but the quality is not there this year

I do think Carrick is under rated, but as for the Capello comment , just like SAF's record cant be ignored neither can Capello's.

Having said that the role Carrick is competing for with England is probably the strongest we have in terms of players as I don't think Carrick is ahead of Gerrard / Lamps (well maybe in the DM role) so hes really competing with Barry.

I cant for the life of me see why Jenas gets ahead of him in the squad tho.

Man Utd always start badly , carricks abscence will have had little effect on that. Unfortunately they have an annoying habit of picking up later in the season....:o

And so do Tottenahm....dam them both! :P:rolleyes:

Hull for the title i say :D
