The manager was annoyed that they couldn't start to pick up a winning streak. We need to be more consistent, it's all well and good beating Milan by 4 goals, but we need to follow results like that up with more good scorelines. I was very disappointed at the way we played today. Final Score Inter 0-4 Udinense
Hunty 4,137
Re: Gold Championship 39 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Giant Killing! Norwich City today have became Giant Killers in their own right after beating EPL side Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at White Hart Lane. Rhys Hunt told his team before the match to play very defensive and hit Tottenham on the counter-attack. Norwich were 2-0 down at half time and that's when Norwich got a telling to at half time by manager Rhys Hunt and The Canaries bucked up their ideas and in the 59th minute Jason Roberts scores and then in the 66th minute captain Richard Hughes struck the equaliser. Norwich's Belgian CF Wesley Sonck (below) grabbed a brace to put Norwich into the 3rd round of the English Cup. Everyone thought Norwich would get turned over by Spurs and many think that this match Norwich were lucky to beat Tottenham but just look at the stats (below) this shows Norwich ran Tottenham ragged. Burrow27 7,287
Re: Gold Championship 39 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Preston reserves beaten by Inter Preston Reserves put up a good fight at Deepdale tonight, losing 3-2 to a strong Inter side. Despite having hardly any possession, Preston scored the opener, a powerful header from Chris Brown in the 5th minute, after a blazing run and cross from Chris Sedgwick. Chris Brown began a great night with the opening goal Inter took 20 minutes to reply, with Portuguese winger Simao scoring a close range effort through the legs of Andy Lonergan. The score remained 1-1 up to half time. Andy Lonergan encouraging the team after his blunder The teams came out for the second half, with Inter having most of the possession, before a ten minute spell where Preston's goalscorer Chris Brown had 6 shots in ten minutes, including a 35 yard scorcher which Julio Cesar only just kept out. The game looked to be heading for a draw when Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic was given too much space outside the box, and his right footed shot eluded Lonergan. Dejan Stankovic was certainly the best player on the park Minutes later, it was 3-1, Adriano's shot was parried by Lonergan but only into the hands of Luis Figo, who scored most possibly the easiest goal of his illustrious career. Plucky Preston pulled one back in the 87th minute, Chris Sedgwick poked home after a goalmouth scramble. He had a great game, and deserved a goal. At full time, Preston were applauded off the pitch despite the loss. Striker Chris Brown was awarded the Fans MoM award, and is guaranteed a starting place against Sheffield Wednesday. Everyone thought it was going to be Rhys Hunt's toughest test so far as Bordeaux manager but Bordeaux continued their great run of form with a 2-0 win over the Spanish side making it 6 wins out of 6 for Hunt since he took over the French side. Bordeaux's opening goal came in the came in the 1st minute where everyone though another 7-0 was coming. Bordeaux's first scorer was Brazillian Ferreira Jussie who finished a nice move inside the box to bag his 4th goal in all competitions this season. (Number 15 Jussie celebrates his goal tonight with his team-mates) Hunt's Bordeaux side doubled their lead on 46 minutes when top scorer Fernando Cavenaghi scored after dribbling past the keeper and slotting home from an accute angle and that was Cavenaghi's 3rd goal in the competition and he also grabbed himself the MoM award for the match which was his fifth in the competition.
