Re: la Résistance (Official thread)

Whats the deal for injured star players? Is there still a temporary change while the SP is injured?

Yep, if your 'Star Player' becomes injured, you can use another 'SP' for the duration of time up until your SP is BACK, upon which it then goes back to your regular SP. Lemme know though if you're planning on doing this, and for how long your SP is out for please.

La Résistance cup Round 1

Barry Golden's excellent start as manager of Manchester United continued tonight as his side beat a well strung-together FC Schalke 04. United opened the scoring on 28 minutes after some good movement in midfield with Muntari playing a through ball to Negredo, who executed the resulting chance past the helpless Neuer. United dominated the half and made it two after another brilliant move this time from Mutu on the left and a neat pull back which was inevitably smashed home from the on fire Negredo. In the second half Schalke tried for a few minutes to get back in the game with Farfan almost pulling a goal back on 56 minutes. Agbonlahor also nearly scored for Schalke with a header cleared off the line. But United being United, came back stronger and with a swift move down the left and a one two with Mutu and Niang, Mutu was put in a chipped Neuer in a truly excellent performance for Golden's Side.

Horrific start sees Job on the line

128px-InternazionaleBadge.png

"If someone said to me, you will have no points after the first 3 games of the season, I would have laughed at them." - Milligan

At the start of the season, Inter Milan were favourites to win promotion after a 4 season long battle. Their squad seemed to have finally gelled, goals were flying in, and some nifty transfers were performed. Who would back against them?

The answer? Their form. 3 successive defeats from their first 3 games see them lie joint bottom, with a goal difference of -3. Karim Benzema is already suspended, and Javier Zanetti is already out for a lengthy period. To add insult to injury, Maxwell is also sidelined.

This leaves Milligan a serious problem. Unfortunately his squad lacks depth of players who have had lots of match-experience. He has players who in a years time will be stars, but he needs more star quality as backup.

"The sale of Sulley Muntari was a very bad idea. However Demy De Zeeuw will soon have filled the spot, I just wish that he would fill it quicker."

A statement issued by the board says that Inter Milan will sell no more players until the crisis has been Resolved. But for now, his job hangs precariously in the balance.

Fiorentina making strides!

After a shocking second half to 'Season 4' of LR, which saw the on and off midtable Florence side get relegated, the team has started to put in revelling performances of old, to make their way instantly back up to Div 1 yet again. Zlatan and Ronaldo have filed well up front together to create a formidable partnership, seeing both players score in there last few matches. Both Ibra, and Ronaldo commented today at a press conference about their performances, and what is to come;

ibrahimovic_ronaldo_480.jpg

Reporter (Waldo Wonky): Zlatan and Cristiano, what where your thoughts once relegation hit you last season?

IBRA: I felt devastaded obviously, this was not a good season, last one, and we must now push forward to show fans we care and want to get back to the top.

RONALDO: Is simple, you no perform, you get in trouble, we didnt perform and got the worst end of it.

Reporter (Poopoo Face): Cristiano there are many rumours surrounding your name, that you want to leave, or perhaps the club will look to deal you... whats your opinion on this matter?

JOSE MOURINHO: As assistant manager i must remind media, this is about current playing of Fiorentina Futbol Club, not transfer rumours, is silly understand. Because of silly question.. no more questions for the media. :D

As mentioned the conference was called short due to people being unhappy with the questions being asked. In other news after the conference Fiorentina revealed they will unveil there new youngster signing tommorow, one who hold promising talents for the future as the clubs ever-growing prospects in the reserves, U-Squads continues to flourish and grow. :)
