Manchester United's extravagant start under new boss Barry Golden continued last night with a thrilling 3-2 victory in Seville. Sevilla start procedures with a well worked move resulting with a shot rebounding to Abidal who shot high past Van Der Sar. In the rest of half Manchester United got back into it and Rooney headed inches over from a Ryan Giggs cross. Giggs, then was put in by Arshavin and his shot whistled past the post. Arshavin then almost turned his match from mediocre to something special with a shot hitting the crossbar.

In the second half there was an inspiring lift from Golden's men and Rooney clipped the post in the 50th minute. Another superb cross from Giggs bounced off the leg of Squallaci and Diego shot straight into the arms of the keeper. United were starting to get frustrated until Rooney took on the Sevilla defence before rifling the ball into the bottom corner to send Golden and co wild. Sevilla, had a modicum of chances in the second half and ironically scored 3 minutes after Rooney's goal with a swift move down the right by Hitzlsperger, who pulled the ball back to the skipper Frings who scored past the desparing Van Der Sar. United responded quick and within 30 seconds Ryan Giggs showed a moment of class by tearing past two defender and smashing home for 2-2. United fans went mental. United continued to push for another and won a corner after Rooney did some good hold up play. Giggs swung it in and Mertesacker met it with a powering header in the 83rd minute. Three points for United and 3 out of 3 for Golden.

Barry Golden continues to be unbeaten since his takeover of Manchester United. Last night, saw United draw one all against a Valencia side managed by Kensational. Both teams had chances but Assuncao opened the scoring for Valencia on 13 minutes with a low shot. Giggs equalised on 42 minutes with a shot across the keeper. Both sides had their chances in the second half the best of which fell to Rooney who hit the crossbar. Still top by one point, United have Celtic at home on Tuesday in the cup.

In other news Cristiano Ronaldo could be rejoining his beloved Manchester United. More news to follow.

Thought Giggs did,

But it is a completely rested side, I don't play anyone except the keeper on league matches.

Emirates Stadium

Att: 60,355

Arsenal managed by: Trampo

Manchester United managed by: Barry Golden

Manchester United got over their shock 5-1 defeat to Celtic in the cup in midweek with a 2-1 victory against a good Arsenal side. Both sides had a good start with Van Persie shooting inches wide and Rooney heading inches over in the 23rd minute. Soon after, Giggs drove a shot inches past Almunia's post, with Almunia beaten. Again Giggs, 3 minutes later, had a glorious chance to make it one nil but somehow lobbed the ball onto the roof of the goal. Van Persie broke down the left wing at lightning speed and cut in and then let fly with a blistering shot with smacked back of the angle of the goal. United were lucky to escape and they took full advantage with Giggs playing a suplime ball to Rooney, who had his head in his hands after he somehow put the ball wide. Giggs had the next chance and he rifled a shot into the top corner for 1-0. Giggs was thrilled after his earlier misses. A minute before half time Flamini curled in a beauty from 20 yards for 1-1.

In the second half United started the stronger with Muntari bringing out a great save from Almunia. From the resulting corner, it was only half cleared as far as Wayne Rooney, who let fly with a 30 yard volley which sailed into the top corner. Breathtaking! Giggs then brought a save out of Almunia and a Van Persie shot was cleared off the line by Evra. Gomez then hit the post with a turn and shot and Van Persie missed a sitter when he had an open goal from the left wing. Arsenal pressured United in the last few minutes but it wasn't to be and United took all three points and remain top now, by 3 points.
