Re: la Résistance (Official thread)

Apologies to all, i got trapped in a cupboard for two months and couldn't get out. :o

Anyhow some feedback is due I would think. Sorry for not doing the draw, just been so busy, so thought I'd coast this season, meaning we'll just play it out as individuals, then entering into next season, go back to normal with the teams draw, SP's, etc...

For anybody wanting to join la Résistance, Zenit, Tottenham and Lyon are free. Please send me a PM if interested, cheers.

In other news: la Résistance has recently over the past 2 days seen the somewhat "controversial" and once upon a time gaffer.... RAZZ return to the setup.:D Aw jezzzzzz! Run for the hills!

Does that mean we can loan to anyone for this season? ;)

And thanks Razz for making that offer for Pogeyfrank :P Completely forgot about making an offer for him when his TB ended ages ago, and now he's set to join Atletico. £10m + Cavani, bit too much but it's Pogeyfrank.. And it gets rid of some of my £87m :o

Yeah mate' date=' that sounds fair as we're not going to be competing as a team this season, so I can't see why loans from any teams to one another or w/e is planned can be done. Just remember though next season the rules go back to normal. :)

Also congrats to Liam for winning this season's LR cup. Shame on you though, had to switch from the better North London club to the worst one to win something. :P[/font']

la Viola dips in the funds

kaboul_790163c.jpg

Fiorentina have made a thorough acquisition to address their defensive problems immediately in the form of Frenchman, Younes Kaboul, who at the beginning of the season found himself at home, and unsigned with a team. la Viola who have been leaking goals this season, after the Ministry of la Résistance, declared that each team will go in alone this season, thus being unable to pick up loans from teammates has found their back 4 in disarray. This is what the gaffer, Kylan had to say on the signing of Kaboul;

We managed to sign him at a very low cost which is what really kindled our interest in signing Younes. He's pacy, athletic, has quite abit of experience behind him and we hope he can fit in well here, greatly improving our CB problems, helping stay up in Div 1 of LR.

Fiorentina back on track

PA-6827052.jpg

Hamsik & Pazzini put on a superb offensive display.

After a string of somewhat mediocre results Fiorentina bounced back with a 5-1 drumming over AC Milan at the Artemio Franchi. Fiorentina dominated the match from the get-go, holding most of the possession through the entire match. It was in the 12th minute where midfielder, Marek Hamsik opened his tally onward of a hat-trick on the night, putting la Viola up 1-0. From there on AC Milan tried to fight back, with players like Fabregas, trying to create opportunities, even giving Marko Marin an excellent chance to equalize, forcing Frey to make a brilliant save. In the latter stages of the half, things got worse for the Milan outfit, as Pazzini shot the ball from a weird angle, deflected off a defender, went in, then only a minute later, Pazzini added to his scoring total, putting another one in, this time with a clean, powerful shot, which went off the post. Then yet again, this time 4 minutes later, Hamsik picked up a loose ball in the box, just tapping it in, to increase the lead further. 4-0 to Fiorentina at the half.

As the second half went on, Milan's efforts became more sluggish, Hulk had a few chances to further the lead for Fiorentina, coming ever so close to scoring, hitting the crossbar. Marin, Higuain again with waisted chances for Milan, getting nowhere, which lead the way for yet again another Viola goal, this time capping off the hat-trick night for Hamsik, who slid the ball from outside the box the low corner of the netting. Some redemption finally came for AC Milan later, as Higuain finally beat an offside trap and slid the ball under Frey, albeit a little to late. Final score 5-1 to Fiorentina.

Ever growing frustration for AC Milan was the theme of the night, as Cesc Fabreagas was almost reduced to tears after a disappointing game.

Hamsik coolly celebrated not once, nor twice, but three times, notching in a hat-trick, with a superb display of skill.

Pazzini proved to be a problem all night, scoring two, leaving the AC Milan back 4 at unease.

Viola cash-in on pair

Andrade Jefferson & Andrea Mazzarani - OUT

Both 22 y/old, Andrade Jefferson and 20 y/old, Andrea Mazzarani have been sold after coming through the youth system at Fiorentina, unable to make a big enough impact in the first team, thus deeming expendable. Jefferson spent 5 years with la Viola, with a brief spell at Inter too, he's been sold to Frosinone in return for £421,800. Promising youngster, Mazzarani who not only spent 6 years with Fiorentina, but also has been a part of the Italian Int'l youth teams has been sold to Crotone for £499,500. Fiorentina on there behalf wished both players all the best of luck in their futures and their contributions to la Viola, said they felt now was the time to part ways.

First win in charge! but at what cost?

New Bayern Munich manager Razz has taken the team to its first win since the charismatic enigma himself took charge with a commanding 1-0 win over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.

A 55th minute strike by man of the match Bastian Schweinsteiger was enough to settle the scores, and lifted the Germans off the foot of the table, leaping Sevilla. However, they are expected to be without star striker Miroslav Klose for up to a month with a fractured wrist sustained in Bayerns first victory since there win over Valencia in late January.

Next up for Bayern, is a tricky test against 2nd placed giants Barcelona at the Allianz Arena. They are massive underdogs but have been for most of the season and since new manager Razz has come on board, there form has been promising, picking up a very solid 4 points from three tough matches against Manchester United, Milan and Juventus.

Barcelona strolled to a 6-1 victory away to Bayern Munich. Carrick curled in a shot to give Barca an early lead. Keita doubled the lead with a powerful drive. Toni pulled a goal back for Bayern bundling the ball over the line after a scramble in the box.

David Villa was able to casually roll the ball into the net minutes into the second half. Ribery was then shown a red card for a professional foul, which ended Bayern Munichs already slim hopes of salvaging anything from the match. Villa was able to get his second goal after he converted from the edge of the box after a lovely pull back. Navas made it 5-1 crashing a header into the net after a cross from the left.

Heskey Fires Bayern to Crucial Win Over Misfiring Gunners!

Ten-man Bayern Munchen travelled to Arsenal overnight in what was a frantically important match for both sides. Arsenal were hoping to pull clear from the relegation scrap and the Germans were trying to claw there way back out of the Relegation Zone.

Arsenal, managed by Liam Smith, started the better of the two sides, with Marco Borriello wasting a glorious chance to open proceedings in the fifth minute. Arsenal were dominant for probably the opening 20 minutes before Bayern finally got there act together and started posing a threat to Manuel Almunias goal. Nigel De Jong wasted a great chance and Heskey had a decent strike kept out aswell as the German Giants pressed for the opener ; and that duly came as Emile Heskey, one of Razz' new signings, majestically thumped home a header in the 37th minute to send the travelling party into absolute havoc.

The second half was all Bayern from the offset however Manuel Almunia kept Arsenal in it with a couple of outstanding saves; and Arsenal were given a massive repreev on 73 minutes when the disappointing Martin Demicheles was sent off for acting angrily to the officials decision. Bayern held on to record a monumentally important victory.

Ribery moves on..

French Superstar Franck Ribery has signed for Manchester City! After a series of negotiations that seemed to take forever, eventually Bayern Manager Razz was happy enough with what City manager Danny King had to offer. The meeting lasted over 4 and a half hours, but the ending was emphatic.

It is understood that Bayern have receieved a sum of £7 million plus diminutive defensive midfielder, Javier Mascherano. Also, Spain's best Left Back, in Joan Capdevilla, has made the trip to The Allianz Arena to put pen to paper with the German Giants.

This is what Bayern manager Razz had to say ;

"I'm overall quite happy with the deal ; Mascherano will do doubt add serious ability to the midfield and Capdevilla will strengthen our defence which has been leaking goals this season so i'm very happy. Of course Ribery will be missed, he was a great player for us, a legend in his own right, and we wish him the best of luck at his new club in Manchester.

Inter to Break out of Div 2?

So, 5 and a half seasons ago La Resistance was created. Inter Milan have always been in the second division, and each year have vowed to gain promotion. Every season has been a disappointment.

Until this season! Inter have finally found the right balance between attack and defense. Key names like Karim Benzema, Wesley Sneijder, the always reliable Julio Cesar, Diego Milito and Javier Zanetti have all managed to put in sterling performances. After the offload of Kaka to Madrid, people thought that was it. However the team shot their critics in the face, and went on a 5 game winning streak, and currently lie in second.
