English Premier League Match Day One

Fulham-Liverpool Match Preview

Liverpool's 08/09 season campaign was against West London based team Fulham who were extremely lucky to have been playing Premier League football last season.

Both teams saw numerous changes to their teams...And the one change that both had in common was the change in managerial positions.

Liverpool also had massive transfer changes and blockbusting signatures. Their most noted acquisition was the signing of French sensation Karim Benzema who came form Lyon for a fee of £6,000,000 + Martin Skrtel and Ryan Babel. The French striker partnered along Fernando Torres in what was dubbed as one of the most powerful strike partnership in the world, let alone England.

The Liverpool team sheet also saw new Spaniard David Albelda make his debut after him and teammate Marchena came in return for Xabi Alonso.

Match Analysis

Before the match even began, Liverpool were tipped to win the match, but it was a matter of 'by how many' by many fans and pundits. And with Fulham unchanged, the final score seemed surprisingly inevitable.

And they proved the critics right as Italian left back Andrea Dossena and Spanish defensive midfielder Albelda came close very early on. The duo having similar chances and both wasting them.

Agger and Mascherano came close but were denied by the goalkeeper and early signs showed that Liverpool may be in for a very frustrating night.

But the best chance of the half fell to French golden boy Benzema who blazed a powerful shot just inches wide! What a debut it would have been had that went in.

Benzema_Italy.jpg

Benzema Misses Golden Opportunity In Liverpool Debut

The clubs went in the half goalless both hoping that things would soon change for the better.

And it did for Liverpool FC in particular as the team looked dangerous once more with Riera and Dossena coming close.

But the Five time European Champions were put at ease after Spanish Euro 2008 winner Fernando Torres rifled a brilliant shot in off the woodwork! The former Atletico man getting his season underway!

_44268318_torres_getty.jpg

Torres Scores First Of Season

And the match ended Fulham 0-1 Liverpool as the Reds were rightly lead to a win by new manager Nasir Ali. However, the score didn't do Liverpool justice as they simply dominated the game!

Final Score: Fulham 0-1 Liverpool - José FERNANDO TORRES (54)

Liverpool will be looking to take their opening league form onto the next as they play new league boys Hull City at Anfield.

Nurnberg Handle Debut In Comfortable Win!

1 FC Nurnberg stay as FSV Mainz head over to Frankenstadion. Nurbergs chairman (They got no manager) said before the match that we will easily win 1 FC Nurnberg even without having a coach.Unfortunatly the match ended in a 2-1 win for Nurnberg

:P,Nurnberg are on equal points with the leaders.

Nurnberg yet havent made any new signings as manager; Vladan has more important thing to do but I WILL work on the teams transfers as i have won a match and want to continue winning matches.

Carragher is available for 2 90 rated CB's.

Or I am looking for a 90 rated CB and will give Benayoun and Lucas.

That is because I will yet again lose another defender... IF a mysterious transfer gets completed tomorrow.

If you're interested in Torres then PM me to work out a decent deal.

So far.... Reina left for 13m + Lloris + Clerc (RB problem sorted)

Lemme know if you're selling any decent CB

English Premier League Match Day Two

150px-Liverpool_FC_logo.pnghull.png

Liverpool-Hull City Match Preview

Liverpool's second game was at home to Premiership new boys Hull City. The home side had won their first game in charge against Fulham by the skin of their teeth and were keen to impress their own fans.

And the same team which beat Fulham was fielded except for Cler who took the right back slot and Heitinga partnering with Carragher, both players making their Liverpool FC and English league debut.

Unsurprisingly it was Liverpool who started well as they kept possession and had a few chances at goal. Spanish striker Jose Fernando Torres coming close early on but failed to take his chance.

Captain Steven Gerrard also impressed as he opened play and created opportunities which his offensive players failed to take. The game started to look worrying for Liverpool as they failed to take any of their chances, their only hope was not to concede a goal from the away side.

Both teams went into half time with the scores 0-0, and nothing but the manager's words could change that. And it seemed it was Nasir Ali's words which were ringing in the players ears for the longest as just a minute after the break, Jamie Carragher finished off with a trademark strike.

But the lead wouldn't last for too long as the visitors replied positively with a goal from Daniel Cousin, the striker scoring a messy goal which was initially miss hit.

And with the whole half remaining, both teams had it all too played for. Steven Gerrard coming close for Liverpool with a 25 yard drive, the Enland international trying to inspire his team. Argentinian Javier Mascherano also came close but with just four minutes left, Liverpool scored the well deserved winner.

Liverpool's goal came from new rising French star Karim Benzema who gratefully bundled the ball past the line after a scramble in the box. The former Lyon man getting his first of the season as he gives Liverpool a deserved victory.

Benzema Scores Winner After 86 Minutes!

Manager Nasir Ali was delighted with his team's performance despite the failure to score as many as they should have. Heitinga and Clerc both giving in solid performances, but the Man of The Match ball went to Jamie Carragher for his fantastic display keeping his team on the running for the win.

Next up for Liverpool is their fierce rivals Manchester United.

English Premier League Match Day Three - Special

North West Derby Special

matchmv2.png

Manchester United-Liverpool Preview

One of this week's biggest game saw the fierce rivalry continue between Manchester United and Liverpool as Old Trafford entertained approximately 75,561 in this north west derby match.

Going into the match, home side Manchester United were undefeated in the season winning one and drawing their last match 2-2 against Sunderland.

They fielded a full strength squad which boasted the likes of Ronaldo, Tevez, Berbatov, Ferdinand and more. And especially when at home, Liverpool knew the task ahead was a difficult one.

Liverpool on the other hand fielded the same team who beat Hull 2-1 on Wednesday. The only difference was that Marchena came in the center of the park for Albelda. Torres, Gerrard and Benzema all featured.

Team Line Ups

Manchester United (Left) VS Liverpool (Right)

The match kicked off around 20.00GT with both teams looking to extend their current league unbeaten run and make an early impact in the Premier League table.

No doubt it was always going to be a feisty match between these two as Nemanja Vidic received a yellow card on the first minute. The Serbian disapproving with the referee's decisions.

And then just two minutes later, Liverpool's inspirational captain Steven Gerrard capitalizes on United's defensive mistakes as he makes no mistake from 10 yards. The midfielder shining once again in a major game for the Reds.

Gerrard Celebrates With Torres As He Gives 'Pool An Early Lead

After 'Pool had taken the lead, the shots kept pouring in as Dutch goalkeeper Van Der Sar was kept on his toes. However, Manchester United also came close but new French goalkeeper Lloris parrying away an attempt from Tevez. The goalkeeper acting quick as he saw the ball extremely late.

Manchester United's continuous pressure paid off through Welsh winger Ryan Giggs who finishes with a toe poke after his first attempt was saved.

Giggs Equalizes With A Second Attempt Toe Poke

The goal gave Manchester United a confidence boost as Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo came extremely close only to slice his ball wide.

But Liverpool once again took the lead through their target man Jose Fernando Torres who crashed a header into the back of the net after a brilliant cross from Steven Gerrard.

And the two teams would go into half time 2-1 to Liverpool in a match which definitely create a lot of talking points for the pundits.

The second half began with anger now being expressed by the two teams as Marchena was booked and the referee giving Javier Mascherano a long talk.

And on the 54 minute, new Spanish sensation Santi Cazorla tapped in from close range to give Liverpool an unbelievable 3-1 lead.

But Manchester United weren't going to go down without a fight and soon pulled one back through United's best man on the field, Ryan Giggs, who smacked an unstoppable shot past the dispairing keeper.

Giggs (Right) Pulls One Back

But sadly it wasn't enough for Manchester United as Liverpool take a hard earned three points through their heroic display. The Liverpool finally managing to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the league for over six years! Records have been broke today!.

Man Of The Match: Steven Gerrard © (97)

Final Score:[Ryan GIGGS (16), Ryan GIGGS (75)] Manchester United 2-3 Liverpool [steven GERRARD (3), José FERNANDO TORRES (31), González SANTI CAZORLA (54)]

Nasir Ali's Comments: "Today is a historic day for us, but I'm not too surprised as we do have enough quality in the team. With stars such as Gerrard, Santi, Torres, Benzema and more in the team I feel that we were going to give a good match and we've come away with a fantastic result. Unlucky to Manchester United who did have some brilliant chances, but in games like this, you cannot afford to miss as many chances as they did."

After this win, Liverpool headed straight to the top of the English Premier League table as they are the only team in the league to have won all three games.

Liverpool's next game is against other Manchester opponents City as they look to add another win to their record and make it four out of four.

The match will take place on Wednesday 12 November at 20.00GT

Blue half of Liverpool impress

After there somewhat disappointing 1-1 draw with WBA to start the season, Everton have recorded two good wins against Pompey & Tottenham. Toggs is also extremely happy that big gamble Chaves Fred has adapted very quickly, scoring 3 goals in 2 games. Also, Sidney Govou joined just befoe the Tottenham match and played 30 minutes of the game after being subbed on for Steven Pienaar. He showed promising signs.

Everton lie 3rd in the table after 3 games. Both Arsenal and fierce rivals Liverpool lie ahead. Toggs says he is happy with the good start but it needs to continue as they face a somewhat under-estimated Middlesbrough side on Wednesday. From Wednesday on, Toggs'es Everton play five matches in a week. Middlesbrough (League), Almeria (UEFA Cup), Arsenal (League), Ipswich (FA Cup) & Stoke (League). Toggs said that he hopes he can take points from both Middlesbrough & Stoke, to consolate for what will be a tough game @ the Emirates.

On the transfer side, fans were certain theyd saw the last of Louis Saha when a bid was accepted that would see young prospects Obertan & Saivet join Everton, but Toggs pulled out the deal at the last minute. Also, Junior Mate Simao (85,CB) has joined from Panithanikos for a fee of 8M + John Paul Kissock.

Re: Gold Championship 40 - Match Reports/Transfers

Not got time for a big one but just wanted to say........

Liverpools brilliant start to the season has been stopped in its tracks' date=' by a 6-1 mauling by Ziggy Redstalls Manchester City. Robinho returned to form and got a hat-trick and Jo bagged a brace. With attacking midfielder elano completing the rout. Although Alecsandro did pull one back for the league leaders. It is a vital win for city as they haven't had the best of starts to the season due to manager Ziggy Redstall concentrating on his beloved Grimsby.

Final Score Manchester City 6-1 Liverpool :D :D :D:eek::D :D :D[/quote']

Fair play mate good win. Deserved.

But I can say that Liverpool did field their reserves. With only three good players...Albelda, Marchena and Kuyt.

No Gerrard, Torres, Benzema, Masch, Riera, Santi, Carra :D

But not taking anything away from you. Good win

Portsmouth FC Current Stats!

Transfer Update:

Now, if it wasn't for the dutchman Kew Jaliens coming in from AZ Alkmaar, it would just of been Colombians coming in to the south-coast side! As Dan Griffin is Also Colombian International manager, he did say that there would be a handful of Colombians heading to thr Fratton Park outfit. Now, lets get on with the names...

Andreas Chitiva was Dan Griffins first signing for a price seeing richard hughes and Djimi Traore heading the other way.

Walter Moreno came in for an outstanding bargain of £2.5millon, Dan Griffin is joyed at that fee for such an amazing Center Back.

Kew Jaliens came in from an Un-Managed AZ Alkmaar for £7.1million, Kew wanted to move on from dutch side AZ and he will hopefully end his career here in Portsmouth.

Both 32 year olds, Mario Yepes and Geovanni Hernandez Came in for a Combined fee of £10.3million.

and Dan Griffin's latest signing is Jaime Castrillon for a whopping £7.7millon but he will bring strength to the midfield and is very young and has loads of potential.

4 Players have moved on from Portsmouth and they are:

Richard Duffy for £2.1million heading to Welsh Capital Cardiff.

Former Arsenal Right Back Bisan Lauren has gone to Mlada Boleslave for £2.9million.

David Nugent left after just 1 season and got 8 games 4 goals feels he needs to move on and is now playing for Lillestrom SK selling him for £4.4million.

Finally Jerome Thomas has left for £3million on the dot. :D Gaining a total of £12.5million B) but using £27.7million on bringing 6 players in but hey, money is to be used ;)

Now, we move onto the results so far for Portsmouth.

At the start of the season Portmouth played a friendly against Spanish Giants Valencia Commentating on this game was Dan O'Hagan

Within the first minute Portsmouth cause a threat with back-peddling Canizares just got a finger to it. Half an hour passes and both teams have great chances but brilliant performaces from both keepers keeps the game at 0-0. but the first goal of the game came from Papa Bouba Diop with a peach of a goal keeping the keeper on his toes from a bicycle kick! :D

Half-Time: Portsmouth 1-0 Valencia :D

15 minutes into the second half Niko Kranjcar goes round the keeper and scores from 14 yards out after Dan Griffin thought about leaving him out of the lineup from clubs trying to snatch him. Valencia didn't like this scoreline and new they didnt deserve to be 2-0 down :D but fought back and got rewarded with a well performed counter attack and a ball coming in from the wing from David Silva and Luis Miguel has no defenders around him and nods it home!

Full-Time: Portsmouth 2-1 Valencia :D :D

Portsmouths first game of the EPL season was a home fixture to Aston Villa.

This game Finished 2-1 to Portsmouth with goals from Andreas Chitiva on his Debut and Jermaine Defoe for Portsmouth and John Carew for Villa. Yet again Portsmouth go 2-0 up.

Now the 2nd game of the EPL see's Everton host Portsmouth at Goodison, now toggs has also been busy in the market. Everton took total control going 2-0 up inside an hour with 2 goals from Chaves Fred on his debut. but a mysterious substituion saw Tim Howard come off at half-time and be replaced with Phil Neville. in the 80th minute Niko Kranjcar pulled one back for Portsmouth but in the 87th minute Portsmouth got a penalty, Andreas Chitiva steps up to take it, Phil Neville Saves it!!!!!!!!. Portsmouth had one more chance in the 89th minute a shot from Ben Sahar was cleared off the line and massive shouts from Portsmouth and there fans but Referee Vlado Svilokos says NO. Full-Time: Everton 2-1 Portsmouth. a long a slumpy journey back to the south coast for Portsmouth.

Matchday 3: Wigan 2-0 Portsmouth, the result say's it all realy. pfft.

Now after 4 days of rest the EPL is back and Portsmouth were at home to newcastle. Andreas Chitiva got his second goal for Portsmouth to put them 1-0 up and then 4 minutes from the break, Michael Owen made it 1-1.

Half-Time: Portsmouth 1-1 Newcastle.

Dan Griffin was starting to worry about his sides performances in the last 2 games and nerves got to him as Newcastle were close to being 2-1 up. But Peter Crouch Scored in the 46th minute to put Portsmouth in the lead again and what a relief that is for Dan Griffin. Final Score: Portsmouth 2-1 Newcastle. 3 points for Portsmouth hopefully will restore there winning ways.

Now, Portsmouths' first game in europe see's Santos Laguna come to Fratton Park. Dan Griffin was Determine to play his 2 natural center backs but needed them to rest as he has a game against Fulham the day after, so gave debut's to Mario Yepes and Kew Jaliens, they both got a match rating of 7 but was impressed. John Utaka put pompey 1-0 up but 10 minutes later Santos Laguna equalized through Juan Pablo Rodriguez. the game finished 1-1 with Laguna virtually winning the leg, Portsmouth will need to win in Mexico a fortnight away.

Now with more than half the team not match fit Dan Griffin goes into the Fulham game knowing his team probably won't even get a win. Now atleast they didnt have to use anymore energy traveling to London but they had to come down here. Fulham went 1-0 up through Diomanski Camara after 24 minutes but Peter Crouch equalized 1 minute before the break. the match ended Portsmouth 1-1 Fulham, Dan Griffin is Very Happy with his teams performance seeing as they played a match less than 24 hours ago.

Now Leyton Orient entertain Portsmouth today in the English Cup Round 1, Dan Griffin says he will be letting Subs and Reserves play this game as he really doesn't want to progress through because he needs as many players as he can possibly have fit for the league. his next league game is away to WBA and thinks his team can win it if there all fit.

Thanks for your time. hope you enjoyed it.

Hmm, thats strange though. I reported that Fernando Torres guy AT LEAST 3 times for cheating, yet the SMFA only stopped his deals and removed him for the setup. Is it because your a mod or summit? I hardly think thats fair...

Nah i doubt the SM devs know me, as i dont know any of them, i only KNOW of Ste and Jon.

Plus it was on my other GM account that doesnt have my Chat Mod status.

They were blatantly cheating, FC Porto selling lucho for CV and Lopez for CV, apparently he investigated and felt the need to remove them.

They have 100% no tolerance towards cheats so it doesnt matter who reported them, if they have cheated they will get punished :)

Glad to hear this m8. I wondered why people would leave teams like that

Manchester City's season has generally got off to a bad start, which the manager has blamed on his lack of activity in the transfer market and forgetting about the SMFA Shield  Here are their scores so far:

31st Oct Friendly Home 0 - 0 Grêmio

1st Nov Division 1 Away 0 - 1 Sunderland

5th Nov Division 1 Home 1 - 2 Stoke City

7th Nov Friendly Home 3 - 0 Hull City

8th Nov Division 1 Home 2 - 1 Hull City

12th Nov Division 1 Away 6 - 1 Liverpool

14th Nov SMFA Shield Round 1 Leg 1 Away 2 - 2 Udinese

15th Nov Division 1 Home 1 - 2 Manchester United

So City's overall record this season stands at 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. Which has left them 12th in the league. They hope to pick up maximum points in their next two league games against Bolton and Fulham and progress past Udinense in their SMFA shield 2nd leg.
