Vaclav Kadlec AGE: 16 (20th May 1992)

Recommended Posts

Vaclav Kadlec is the greatest talent of Czech football after Tomas Rosicky. The teenager signed a three-year contract with Sparta Prague after moving from one of their city rivals Bohemians 2005 earlier in this summer.

Kadlec is a regular member of Czech Republic's international teams, currently playing for the U-17 team and he is certainly capable of deciding games at international level. In 11 appearances he has scored nine goals.

The 16-year-old is highly appreciated mainly for his pace and the sense of being almost selfish in attack, scoring goals from almost every position.

Despite his young age, he has no problems in getting chances and, more importantly, hits the back of the net with a cool head on the majority of occassions - he rarely misses the target.

Kadlec has attracted a lot of interest in Europe, claiming clubs from England, Spain and Italy have wanted him. The starlet vows to see out his contract at Sparta so at the age of 19 he could move to a big European club.

Re: Vaclav Kadlec AGE: 16 (20th May 1992)

to revive an old thread

He is on the database now rated 74.

he's also just been featured on a top scouting site:

“The biggest Czech talent since Tomas Rosicky”

Football fans in the Czech Republic are bracing themselves for the rise of 16-year-old Sparta Prague striker Vaclav Kadlec who is tipped to be a major star in the coming years.

The 5.8ft striker is described by scouts in the Czech Republic as a quick and fierce attacker who despite his young age has shown signs of predatory finishing. The media have claimed that Kadlec is the biggest talent to emerge since Tomas Rosicky.

He has almost everything one would desire in a top class striker including timing, a good shot, speed and he is excellent in one-on-one situations. Kadlec is at the current time somewhat weak but he is expected to strengthen in the coming seasons.

Kadlec started his career at Bohemians 1905 and was always considered one of the stars of the team, shining in a different light compared to his team mates. Throughout his career, this supporting striker has played above his age group and impressed, showing a maturity that belies his young age.

When he was 10-years-old he would regularly play with boys who were considerably older than him. At the age of 15 he went on trial at English Premier League giants Liverpool. Whilst at Anfield he played two trial games and received the attention of the youth coaches.

Once they realized that he was determined to return to the Czech Republic they told him "you will be back here one day." Kadlec hopes to get stronger on home soil and prove himself to his countrymen before leaving for a bigger club in Europe which is expected during the next two seasons.

Sparta Prague were quick to pounce for Kadlec, for a tremendous transfer fee for a player of his age, estimated to be 400,000 euros. This is a Czech record for a 16-year-old which captured the imagination of the east European country.

Recently, Chelsea have also been sniffing around Kadlec but his family are intent on keeping him close to home during his formative playing years. This season, Kadlec has made three substitute appearances and recently scored in the winter break friendly against Austria Wien.

The 16-year-old supporting striker, has as one would expect, received international recognition and is currently a member of the Under-19 Czech Republic team.

Most scouts have been impressed with Kadlec’s subtlety and intelligence in front of goal. Since he has always played with older players he can adapt quickly to a game environment quickly.

According to those that know him well, Kadlec is a polite guy who is confident on the pitch and has been given a steady upbringing by his parents. All the ingredients seem to be in place for Kadlec to emerge as a penalty box predator for a big club in a major European league.

Re: Vaclav Kadlec AGE: 16 (20th May 1992)

Vaclav showed his big talent last week when he scored the only goal in Sparta's 1-0 win over Ostrava.

He subbed in after 76 minutes and 7 minutes later he was quick on the rebound.

Eight subs now with 1 goal.
