Tottenham Hotspur 1 - 2 Newcastle United

Newcastle United shocked the pundits and bookmakers tonight by pulling of a unexpected victory against Spurs at White Hart Lane, The magpies are known to struggle when visiting clubs in the London region, but that was not the case tonight.

Newcastle Started the match the brighter of the 2 sides and established a lead after only 4 minutes when julio cruz pounced on a rebound from a long range effort to score a typical poachers goal.

However spurs refuesed to go down without a fight, keeping the presure up on newcastle with wave after wave of attacks, spurs pounded the newcastle goal but Magpies keeper Shay Given was more than equal to the spurs strikers efforts.

Half time score spurs 0 newcastle 1

Spurs started the second half ontop just like they finished the first, and it wasnt long until they leveled up the scoreline when jonathan woodgate toe poked the ball home from short range after a badly cleared corner.

The match became an even contest after this with bot teams having opertunitys to take the lead, but it was the Magpies that struck the killer blow when in the 61st minute a string of brilliant passes got geremi clean through on goal and he easily sloted the ball past gomes to give newcastle the lead.

Like in the first half when newcastle took the lead Spurs came back fireing throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at Newcastle, but some brilliant Saves from Shay Given kept the lead for Newcastle who ran out eventual winers.

The ofical man of the match award went to Geremi not suprising as he bagged the winning goal.

But after the game newcastle manager Chris Davies Praised the efforts of his irish international goal keeper Shay Given Telling the press that Given was the man of the match in his eyes.

With this win things are looking up for newcastle, but in the soap opera world that is tyneside who knows what will be round the corner for newcastle united.

Newcastle United 2 - 1 Middlesborough

Newcastle United followed up thier impressive away win against Spurs by recording back to back wins for the first time this season, what makes this victory even more special is the fact that it has come at the expense of there bitter rivals Middlesborough givening the Magpies fans local bragging rites over there rivals.

Newcastle started the match the brighter of the 2 sides taking an early lead in the 11th minute when Charles N'Zogbia picker up a short corner and curled the ball around the unsighted Boro Keeper. Middlesborough went on the offensive at this point but the newcastle defence were more than equal to there eforts and the match went into the half time break with the Magpies winning 1-0.

Boro started the Second half the brighter of the 2 teams coming close to leveling the score on a few ocasions before in the 66th Boro leveled the scorline when a brilliant through ball Left Mido clean through on goal and he confidently sloted the ball home past Shay Given.

Newcastle United went back on the attack at this point and it didnt take long till they were back in the lead, when in the 72nd minute A poor clearance fell to Charles N'ZOGBIA who smacked the ball past the despairing keeper!

Another good victory for the magpies lifts them up to 12th in the table, things really are looking on the up for the magpies, and for this victory the fans owe a debt of gratitude to man of the match Charles N'Zogbia who was outstanding on and off the ball and thoroughly deserved his 2 goals.

Whats round the corner for the magpies? Who knows but for now things are starting to look alot better on tyneside!

Re: Gold Championship 43 Transfers / Match Report Thread

Form continues as Dortmund shoots up the tables

It was truly a nightmare in Gladbach as poor performances all around and 2 key injuries overshadowed a match in which Monchegladbach were dominated in all aspects. Huggel has a particularly good match, controlling the ball. 63% possesion, and most of it was run through Huggel, who got the AM's involved. Yakin started the match and is expected to keep his spot despite a decrease from 89 to 88.

Re: Gold Championship 43 Transfers / Match Report Thread

Dortmund continue great form in Cup!

It was a weakened Dortmund side that took on a full Hertha BSC at the Signal Iduna Park today. Dortmund started Moisander and Carja at the wingback, and even gave a squad number, 33, to Tijani Belaid, who was making his first team debut. Despite a rare poor performance from Assman, the attack was on form, lead by Kushev who opened the scoring in the 6th. 2 more goals in the first half settled it there, and a 3-1 victory was the final.

Boussoufa destroys Schalke!

Dortmund have finally put together a good run of form, and the fans have noticed. Over 79 thousand people showed up to see utter domination from Boussoufa, who scored his 3rd, 4th and 5th of the season. No one else managed to score in the match. Assman finally showed up with a good performance with 7 saves in a match that was otherwise quite even.

United have turned around their terrible start to the league campaign and now top the Premiership table. The league is the priority this season and Winston is putting out his strongest available team in every game. Next season will be a true test of what the team can achieve when the Welshman lets his first team loose on the SMFA Championship.

United released a statement saying that both Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic are available for part exchange. Only respectable offers will be considered and all cash bids will be rejected immediately.

Atletico set to make changes!

139_1195931882.gif

Despite being 2nd place behind Barcelona in La Liga and set to finish 1st in their Champions Cup group, Atletico Madrid want to make some changes to their squad in the next few weeks.

Latest reports from Madrid confirm that Florent Sinama-Pongolle looks like returning to England after a bid from Tottenham for the transfer listed striker was accepted. Both Ledley King and Didier Zokora are expected to join Atletico in exchange for the 24 year old.

1846_1209755861.jpg5624_1209755861.jpg

Meanwhile, Atletico have confirmed they had a rejected bid for Nemanja Vidic in the past week and have now ended interest in the defender. The club are now looking to add a new central midfielder to the side in the next few days. Rumours also suggest that Carlos Idriss Kameni will be allowed to leave when his transfer ban ends tomorrow but Atletico have refused to comment.

Startling line up for tonight's game at Porto:

Kameni

Seitaridis, Pablo, Pernia

Gosling, Miguel De Las Cuevas, Ever Banega, Ignacio Camacho, Keko

Helstad, Sinama-Pongolle

United maintain their lead at the top of the Premiership with a thumping victory over WBA. Wayne Rooney was in amazing form and everything he touched seemed to lead to a chance or a goal. Winston praised his performances of late and hopes he can be the the one to lead the Red Devils to the league title.
