Atletico's youth were knocked out of the Spanish Cup by Celta Vigo last night, losing 3-1 with 18 year old Felix Kroos scoring, but this afternoon completed the signing of 34 year old striker Cerqueira Washington for £3.6 million from Fluminese. Washington scored just 8 times for the Brazilian side but Atletico hope his experience will help the side with several crucial games coming up. He will now provide back-up to Sergio Aguero and David Villa, along with Thorstein Helstad who has scored 6 times in his 6 league games so far this season.

The next 2 weeks see difficult away games at Zaragoza, Barcelona and Real Madrid, as well as the Champions Cup Quarter Final. Home games against Espanyol and Recreativo are likely to see weakened sides fielded.

Giourkas Seitaridis can leave for £8m :)

Lazio crush Internazionale

Rhys Hunt's Lazio are still unbeaten under his management. The toughest was to come tonight against the biggest Italian side around, Internazionale. Hunt made it no secret that it was his dream to crush the Italian giants, and tonight his dream came true, with an amazing and unbelievable win over Inter.

111_1193150063.gif5-1 109_1245419601.jpg

Tonight, on July 1, Lazio would make football history at the Stadio Olympico with a famous win against Inter Milan. Hunt's side knew that they had their work cut out when they met into in Lazio, but they always had the believe that they could achieve a great win over the Italian Giants, and thats exactly what happened.

Lazio started the game off poorly with Carrizo keeping them in the game on numerous occasions, but it wasn't all one way as S.S. Lazio had chances of their own. Then the deadlock was broken on the 29th minute when Lazio CB, Sebastiano Siviglia rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the net. Their lead lasted no longer than one minute when Big Brazilian striker, Adriano scored to make it 1-1. Then only 3 minutes later Lazio made it 2-1as left back, Leo Dede scored his 3rd goal in two games and that goal sent the Lazio fans wild. No real action between Dede's goal and half time. The score at half time was Lazio 2-1 Internazionale.

The first real attack of the second half led to a third for Hunt's side when central midfielder, Juan Manuel Torres scored a great individual goal. This game was all goals, and just two minutes later there was another and it was Sebastiano Siviglia and Lazio again to make the score 4-1. Lazio carried on their pressure on the Inter defence and wonker kid, Mauro Zarate chips the keeper. Inter then went on the attack but to no avail as the Lazio defence stood firm under fire from the Inter attackers. The full time score was Lazio 5-1 Internazionale.

This win lifts Lazio to 6th in Serie A and only one point off the Champions League spots. Hunt spoke after the game to SMTV, "This is an amazing day, and its a historic win for us and the rest of Italy, my team were fantastic!".

Lazio add three to their ranks!

Lazio today have unveiled two new signings who are seen by Hunt as in the category of "Future world class" players. The first player to be sign was 21-year old German striker, Sandro Wagner, who impressed Hunt very much during the u21's European Championships, where Wagner scored two great goals in the final of the tournament against England. The second signing was that of 17-year old FC Porto striker, Kalidou Yero who signed for only £72k. The third and final signing was another striker, Freddy Soderberg, the Swedish striker cost Lazio a fee of around £1m.

Aston Villa Appoint GOLDEN

Barry Golden has been appointed with immediate effect at Villa Park after Martin O'Neil's shock departure. Golden's new side are just a point behind leaders Leeds United in division 2, half way through the season. Everyone is for sale at the club and he hopes to get a good few names in if possible. "The squad is quite good and I will be happy just to add a few more name for cash or to get a few new faces in for a trade", he said. His first game is tonight at home to Stoke City who I'm sure will be a difficult challenge.

Re: Gold Championship 43 Transfers / Match Report Thread

Chelsea sell Fabio Cannavaro to Bordeaux which sees £5.0M, Marc Planus & Benoit Tremoulinas arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Dissappointed to see the veteran depart, but the squad needs some depth and at 36 years old some younger players are needed, this gives Chelsea a much needed LB (we only have Cole!) and a replacement CB.

The squad will continue to be built upon over the next couple of seasons, but no more of the top names will be leaving, not unless they are offers that are too good to refuse.

Re: Gold Championship 43 Transfers / Match Report Thread

Chelsea beat Man Utd 5-2 at Old Trafford with another two goals from super sub Carvalho ALAN.

Chelsea now sit top, 3 points ahead of 2nd placed Wolves, these two fought it out last season in Division 2 so it's a big surprise to see them occupy the top two places in division 1.

10 games to go and Chelsea will have to do without the services of Didier DROGBA who will miss the rest of the season with a gashed arm

The big Ivorian said he couldn't possibly play on with an arm injury as he may do it more harm when he throws himself to the deck at every opportunity.

Carvalho ALAN will now fill Drogba's boots in the starting XI due to Chelsea's lack of depth. Chairman Abramovich refuses to give the club any more money insisting that youth players are used if required.

The title will be a tough ask, with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton also in the mix, only 7 points separate the top 6.

Re: Gold Championship 43 Transfers / Match Report Thread

~Bayern Munchen~

Bayern Munchen have avoided relegation, just. Manager Ricky Rodriguez who signed mid season was unable to get the side to perform but steered the team into the SMFA Shield final and also into the semi's of the German Cup.

Rodriguez decided to cut the squad and add depth and as a result, many players were cup tied and unable to take the field in the latter rounds of the competitions.

Igor Akinfeev, Sven Ulreich, Cabral Rafael, Oriel Rosell, Vadis Odjidja, Heiko Westermann, Pedro Leon, Toni Kroos, Mustafa Amini, Lukas Podolski, Emmanuel Riviere, Joshua Guilavogui, Iker Muniain, Kevin Strootman, Thanos Petsos, Christian Eriksen, Diego Contento, Adem Ljajic, Stefan De Vrij, Jordan Henderson, Ezequiel Munoz and Kyriakos Papadopoulos all made moves to Allianz Arena during the season.

Miroslav Klose, Franck Ribery, Souza Robinho, Angel Di Maria, Jerome Boateng, Thiago Silva and Daniel Van Buyten all found new homes after being traded out to bring new players in.

Bayern feel that the injection of quality youth will give them the ability to be dominant across all competitions in a season or two and will have significant depth to field strong teams against quality sides.

Manager Rodriguez has stated that Ronaldinho, Saviola, Ze Roberto, Kalou and Witsel are all available for P/E and that he is seeking younger players in return for the stars.

Bayern are aiming to lift every piece of silverware available this season.

Rodriguez also took the time to thank the departing players and to wish all clubs the very best of luck for the new season.

~ Bayern Munchen ~

Bayern have made an ideal start to the season, beating FC St. Pauli 4-1 despite being down to 10 men for most of the match.

Nearly 70,000 fans packing into Allianz Arena to watch Munchen's season opener and weren't disappointed.

Young winger Rouwen Hennings struck after 18 minutes for the visitors but Ze Roberto equalized with 2 minutes left in the half.

After Half-Time, it was all Bayern with Kalou scoring a second half double and Ronaldinho also beating the keeper.

The dominant win was only soured by Lukas Podolski being sent off half an hour into the match.

The win puts Bayern in 4th place after the first round, but face a difficult game when they head to Imtech Arena to face Hamburger SV on Wednesday.
