Tottenham Hotspurs continued their good run of form of late with a 2-0 win over their arch London rivals West Ham. This win comes after their 4-3 win in Hull City. Their next game is against Manchester City away.

The game started explosively with Pavlyuchenko shooting inches wide after 3 minutes. Both sides continued to press but it was Fraizer Campbell who made it 1-0 to send the Spurs fans insane, with a low drive from the edge of the area. It was the 5th goal for the youngster this season. West Ham came back soon after and Villar went inches wide with a low driven shot. West Ham were incredibly unlucky not to be level in the 31st minute with Steven Davis hitting the crossbar with a well driven shot from 25 yards out.

The second half was another electric encounter. Fans at the game exchanged chants about one another and players stretched while waiting for the second half to begin. When it did begin Pavlyuchenko took full advantage of a miss kick from Robert Green and the Russian talisman made it 2-0. Steven Davis came close again soon after as did and incredibly

. Great result for Tottenham and they continue to impress this season back in the top flight.

Tottenham beat local rivals Arsenal 5-3 at the Emirates yesterday with their second string side, after the first team earned a rest after beating Chelsea, 3-2 at Stamford Bridge in the cup on Monday night. This game marks a three game winning streak for Tottenham and they play Portsmouth at home next, in the league.

The game started well as most London derbies do. Obafemi Martins shot inches wide after only four minutes gone. Di Natale was put in loads of space by Hleb but he couldn’t make any use of it and the ball was taken by the youngster Dervite. The young side of Tottenham broke down the pitch, Boateng playing a ball to Altidore who turned Mexes before firing his shot into the bottom corner of Almunia’s net for the opening goal. 1-0,ten minutes gone. Nine minutes later, Spurs broke again. Luis Garcia getting the ball on the left wing and he took it forward before rifling a fifteen yard shot into the top corner for two nil. 2-0 Spurs, nineteen minutes in. Arsenal’s fans couldn’t believe they were losing to a second string Tottenham side. Boateng released Luis Garcia again thirty minutes played and he raced past Maxwell before drilling a low shot across Almunia ito the far corner. 3-0 Spurs, thirty minutes gone. Spurs’ fans could not believe it. Martins struck a goal back within thirty seconds for Arsenal , before Didier Zokora poked home a Torbinsky cross for 4-1. Half Time, 4-1 Tottenham.

Dervite nearly made it 5-1, but missed the rebound from Torbinsky’s header straight away in the second half. Hleb scored a goal for Arsenal after that, curling in a twenty yard beauty. This built some momentum in the Arsenal side and Hleb expertly crossed for Di Natale but somehow when in loads of space, the Italian could not get the ball from beneath his feet and Gomes collected it. Arsenal fans showing their frustration. Dervite was having chances left, right and center in this game and in the sixty first minute he shot just wide after being well placed. Vela was released by youngster Fran Merida and he rounded Gomes before rolling the ball into the net. 4-3, sixty three minutes gone. Arsenal pressured and pressured but it was to no avail and Boateng received a quick throw out from Gomes and he played a brilliant first time ball to Jozy Altidore who blasted the ball past the desperate Almunia to give the points to Tottenham and send the Tottenham fans wild. 5-3 is how it finished and it was a truly memorable week for the Tottenham faithful, beating two of their most hated rivals.

CHELSEA COMPLETE EUROPEAN DOUBLE!

EMP-5205199.jpg

Drogba celebrates his clinching goal.

Since Barry Golden took over Chelsea from Tottenham last year, things have been successful to say the least. A year on and he has won the Premier League, Champions League and now the Super Cup, with the Charity Shield and a sure title challenge on the cards this season as well. Last night his side battled with a strong French team in Bordeaux in Monaco’s Louis II stadium. A crowd of just over 18,000 saw Chelsea win 2-1. Chelsea will play Manchester City on Thursday in the Charity Shield.

After a dull start to this match, Gonzalo hit a cross which raced across the goal mouth, needing a touch to make it a goal. Javier Mascherano was the first player to get a shot on target, as he raced clear of the defence, beating both the flag and the keeper, to give Chelsea the lead. Half Time: Chelsea 1-0 Bordeaux.

Drogba started the second half in style with a blistering thirty yard volley which smacked back off the crossbar with Bordeaux keeper Beto scrambling for the ball from the rebound. Geraldo Wendel had a chance for the French side but his effort curled wide of the target. Didier Drogba did get his goal on the hour mark with a tap in from 6 yards. Late on Marouane Chamakh hit a powerful low drive into the bottom corner but it was to be Chelsea’s day and they ran out 2-1 victors. Full Time: Chelsea 2-1 Bordeaux.
