Hey Malcolm, great thread.

Can you please check Jorge Gonzalez's (the 70 rated player) nationality and age from your source?

Thanks :)

Re: Big risers from Paraquay nothing less than +3

Re Jorge Gonzalez , this has taken me about 1 hr 30 minutes Nationality is correct, he plays in midfield ,which is correct and is a starter now for Tacuary.

I have not confused him with Julio Gonzalez the ex Vicenza player who lost an arm in a motorbike accident who now plays for them

Can't confirm his age but have every reason to believe it is him as he is no longer listed in Libertad squad.

Further info yep definitely is the same guy this is a list of his clubs

2007 / 2008.

Libertad (Asunción)

3 de Febrero (Ciudad del Este)

Blooming (Santa Cruz de la Sierra)

Tacuary FC (Asunción)

is is now a regular starter for Tacuary FC and therefore as a 70 rated player is a fantastic buy, should rise +5 - +7 depends on how generous SM are.

Re: Big risers from Paraquay nothing less than +3

Ok here is where my evidence is from

Firstly Jorge Gonzalez plays for Tacuary , he played yesterday for them, please check on ESPN if you don't believe me. He has played at least 5 times for them, this is the last game for Tacuary

No. Nombre POS

Roberto Carlos Acosta (P)

Luciano Vera (D)

Patrocinio Samudio (D)

Nery Bareiro (D)

Riki Kitawaki (D)

Carlos Ruiz Peralta ©

Jorge González ©

Reinaldo Ocampo ©

José Ariel Núñez Portelli (DEL)

Antonio Miño (DEL)

C = Midfield ie centro..

Secondly I then research his transfer history which is listed above.

From my research for which I used my Spanish google

Ficha de Jorge Gonzalez

Roughly the 6th site down comes up with this info.

I very much doubt Libertad had two Jorge Gonzalez who have ended up at Tacuary

The info on the betstudy site is in error if you got it from there

I am 100% confident that I am correct.

I have sent my evidence to SM, to aid them in their ratings.

SM will also have to reactivate Julio Gonzalez the ex Paraguyan international who now plays with one arm for the same team.

Re: Big risers from Paraquay nothing less than +3

Re the stats issue.

If I missed off games played it was an over sight on my part.

However I can assure you they have all played regularly in the 2nd half of the season which I assume is the part being reviewed now.

My logic was that any player playing say greater than 85% of games as a starter would increase to approach the usual maximum for that team

Obviously I took goals scored and team performance into account.

PLayers who had played more than half but less than 85% I didn't rate unless they were below 80 and those who had played less than half I didn't rate unless they were 75(ish) rated.

Anyone who played less than 5 I ignored.

The problem as Teb has pointed out is the wild variety of stats available. For example listing GK's as outfielders, players playing for two teams etc. Just in my checks some teams changed 8 regular starter between apertura and closura this must cause SM databasers massive head aches + the players also change their names for no apparent reason or suddenly vanish , or reappear.

Re stats would you have prefered games played in 2nd half / games total / %

as I can easily adjust next time I do a country thread , which won't be for a while as I will check my accuracy on the last two before moving on.

Incidently do you think that Ecuador and Paraguays league are underated.

Paraquays national team is having great success and is now rated the 3rd best in South America despite having little success in the club comp

LDU Quito of Ecuador won the Copa Libertadores beating Fluminense
