Gibson off the mark

"I am very pleased with the start I have made after I was giving the job of keeping Werder Bremen in the top flight after a disastrous first half of the season which has saw two mangers sacked.

I now got the ball rolling and got points on the board that has moved us off the bottom of the table with a 4-1 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

I was also pleased the way the players performed in my first game in charge but lost after going ahead 3 times in the match due match fitness and very little options on the bench as many first teamers are exhausted.

Next Up is Borussia Dortmund hopefully I will have more options available for me to play with for this game and hopefully take a point away from the game"

This Weeks transfer News

Givet joins W.Bremen

This week saw Werder Bremen sign Gaël GIVET from Marseille in a deal that saw Boubacar Sanogo going the other way. Givet went on to produce a stuning display which started with a stunning headed goal in the 14min

Garrard to leave Werder?

Many rumours are suggesting that Steven Gerrard could be on his way out of the team but Gibson is adamant he wants to keep one of the worlds best players but if a really good offer comes in I would have to consider it.

Barca hit 6 past Levante

Tonight Barcelona closed the gap on Real Madrid to 5 points, after thumping Levante 6-0 at Camp Nou.

The goals began just after the half an hour mark, Samuel Eto'o smashing a shot into the back of the net after a great lay-off by Ronaldo.

It was a minute into the second half when Barca doubled the lead, Lionel Messi this time volleying into the back of the awful net.

He grabbed his 2nd on 54 minutes after a great shot from 15 yards out.

15 minutes later he completed his hattrick, after nodding in a great corner from Xavi, the scoreline now being 4-0.

With 77 minutes gone on the clock, magician Xavi scored a trademark shot to make it 5-0.

With just over 8 minutes to go, Eto'o grabbed his 2nd after a great run into the box allowed him to lash in a shot to make it 6-0.

Barcelona next travel to Almeria on Wednesday and again they will be looking to grab the 3 points in fashion.

Bayern get back to winning ways, after sticky patch

Rhys Hunt's, Bayern Munchen tonight have got back to winning ways against VFL Wolfsburg. Bayern have been in a sticky patch results wise of late which has seem them have their seven point lead at the top of the Bundesliga to one point before tonights match with Wolfsburg. Bayern were still without their big striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who is still injured. This saw Brazilian Carvalha Amuari and Uruguayan Diego Forlan pair together up top. Hunt had surprisingly fielded his strongest team, and has appeared to prioritise the league over Bayerns champs league last 16 clash with Dynamo Moskva on monday.

Tonight Bayern lined up against VFL Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena. Wolfsburg started the game off the quickest, with Manuel Neuer being sprung into action within the first 5 minutes. But straight away, on the counter-attack Bayern broke, and Uruguayan forward, Diego Forlan finished off a very well worked move. Wolfsburg then came right back at them with Neuer saving Bayern on numerous occasions. Once again it was Bayern who scored on the counter and again it was Diego Forlan who bagged his second goal of the game to make it 2-0. Bayern then upped their pressure on VFL Wolfsburg, but at half time the score was VFL Wolfsburg 0-2 Bayern Munchen.

Wolfsburg had obviously had a telling to at half time by their manager as they came out on the offensive, and Bayern had to defend well to protect their lead. Diego Forlan was dangerous on occasions in the second half and he and Bayern looked the most likely to score and increase their lead, but that's not what happened as at the full time whistle the score was VFL Wolfsburg 0-2 Bayern Munchen.

Diego Forlan earned the MoM award for his great performance and bagging Bayern Munchens two goals. This win over VFL Wolfsburg puts Hunt's Bayern three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table ahead of Bayer Levekusen. Bayern Munchen's next match comes against Dynamo Moskva in the Champions League last 16 on Monday night.

Lazio News

Having been dumped out of the SMFA Shield in the 2nd Round by Boca Juniors 5-2 on aggregate it seemed things couldn't get much worse for Dan Walmsley and his Lazio players but how wrong they were as the team went on to endure their worst run of form under the Englishman. Rumours of the board of directors considering Walmsley's position at the helm of the club surfaced following disgruntled fans venting their frustration at the dismal form of the team at Walmsley, things looked bad for the first time since the new manager took over just over a year ago...

However, the team seems to have regained some confidence with 23 league games gone and have won the last 4 games on the bounce. European football next season is still a possibility although the team will have to continue their recent good work following some inspired transfer activity as usual by Walmsley - certainly something that no fan will critisize the young manager for despite the lack of results so far this season...

Transfer News

Talented Brazilian often compared to superstar Kaka now at Lazio...

Renato Augusto is finally a Lazio player following months of negiotations with German side Bayer Leverkuesen. The highly-rated RM who is just 21 made the move for what Dan Walmsley described as one of best pieces of transfer business of the season...

Jonas Guitterez has moved to Germany in exchange for Renato AUGUSTO, Pasquale FOGGIA and youngster Novica MILENOVIC.

Escudero RAUL GARCIA has ended Dan Walmsley's search for a quality CM to play alongside Rio Mavuba. The 22 year old Spaniard moves from Lokomotiv Moskva for a fee of Stefan Kiessling and Moussa Sissoko.

Breaking News: John Terry joins Bayern Munchen

In an amazing twist, yesterday, England captain, John Terry joined German giants, Bayern Munchen in an amazing deal that none of the world ever saw coming. The amazing switch was completed yesterday afternoon, when the 28 year old Englishmen completed his medical at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

The night before Terry completed the switch the two English managers of Chelsea and Bayern struck an agreement, which saw Spanish CB Raul Albiol and Argentine AM Jose Sosa join the West Londoners, then after the deal was completed, up and coming DM Mehmet Ekici joined Chelsea for a fee of around £650k.

Rhys Hunt released this statement after the news was out about Terry: "It is amazing to have such a leader and such a great player in our team. I admire him more than any other footballer in the whole world, and he will be made our captain for the rest of the season. The CB partnership of Lucio & John will be so important".

Bayern put 5 past Hertha Berlin

Tonight new signing John Terry started for the first time with his CB partner, Lucio, the partnership went perfect with Bayern stomping all over Hertha Berlin. Rhys Hunt fielded a very strong team, the only notable absentie was Dutch striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who is recovering from an injury, but Hunt says he will be back for the next game. Everyone were expecting Hertha to put up more of a fight than they did because they had a side fielded that was capable of beating Hunt's Galacticos.

391_1238686832.jpg5-1 404_1233591748.jpg

Bayern Munchen started the game off as well as they could with stand in left-back William Edjenguele took his chance in the side after Lahm's lack of fitness and he put Bayern 1-0 up. Bayern's lead didn't last long and Hertha were back on level terms when striker, Alexander Frei scored a great individual goal. Bayern then pushed for their second but to no avail and were hit on the counter but Manuel Neuer kept the scores level going into the break. At half time the score was Bayern Munchen 1-1 Hertha BSC.

At the half time break, Bayern Munchen manager, Rhys Hunt, rocketed his players and told them to sort it out, and that's exactly what they did. With Yaya Toure taking control and putting Bayern 2-1 up. Then on the 64th minute, a moment to forget for Swedish defender, Olof Mellberg, as he puts into his own net. On the 74th minute, on form striker, Diego Forlan sealed the victory for his side when he put Bayern 4-1 up. Then to add the cherry on top of the cake, Frech attacking-mid Yoann Gourcuff made it 5-1 to Bayern to give them a thumping victory over Hertha BSC. At the full time whistle the score was Bayern 5-1 Hertha BSC.

This amazing win capped off a great week for the German side, who earlier in the week won 3-1 in their first leg at Dynamo Moskva in the Champions League last 16. This win keeps Bayern 3 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Portuguese League - GC50

FC Porto keeps is winning streak still with 11 points ahead of 2nd placed Benfica after a vicious 3-2 win at home agaisnt SP Braga.

FC Porto won the championship and the cup on season 1, reached the SMFA Champ Cup quarter finals(1-1, 4-3 pens to Juventus(champion)), finnishing his european participation with 6 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat having qualifyied in 1st place along with Bayern Munchen as the group runner up. Also, reached the shield semi finals. Later on, on the beginning of season 2 FC Porto has conquered the SMFA Charity Shield.

FC Porto is commanding the league on season 2, reached the SMFA Champ Cup Last 16 having won 4 matchs, and drawed 3, qualifyied 1st place along with Bayern Munchen as the group runner up. FC Porto won the 1st leg of the Last 16 agaisnt Racing St and seems ready and comfortable to equall last season performance both on league and SMFA Champ Cup, the real challenge seems to overcome the quarter finais. FC Porto was also eliminated at the shield quarter finals in pens.

With this Micael Liberal is standing on the 3rd place of the all time manager ranking in GC 50, managing a team in the Portuguese league, where the chances of doing good on the overall ranking are low due to the less matches played in the portuguese league and the shorter domestic cups(altough its also more easy to win them). With 219 points in 83 matches (av 2,64 per game).

Lazio News

A win and a defeat leaves Lazio trailing an SMFA Shield spot by 4 points with 25 games gone so far. With the Italian Cup approaching the teams lack of depth in the defensive area will again be tested, fans will be hoping it will not have a detrimental effect on the clubs last ditch efforts for European football again next season, which still looks a promising oppportunity at this stage.

Key players Mata, Diarra and Garay remain unavailable due to suspension/injury for Dan Walmsley's first 11 team selection but will all three nearing return it's hoped they can play a major role in the final push...

Transfer News

Things remain quiet around the Stadio Olympico, something that Dan Walmsley has admitted could change shortly:

'Things have been a little quiet lately after the arrivals of Renato Augusto, Foggia and Raul Garcia but i am hoping to land either a new second choice goalkeeper or striker shortly.'

Adrian COLUNGA remains on the transfer list for a fee of £9million. The Spainish striker has had interest but no bids deemed acceptable as of yet by the clubs board...

Ajax Looking To Do Deals

(Macheda has been told by Ajax that he can speak to other clubs as he is not very comitted to Ajax Football Club.)

There is bound to be many changes in the next few days at Ajax, this has come after Champions Ajax have had a dreadful season that could see them drop below 4th spot if they don't get their act together quickly. Jake has made urgent responses to the players by transfer listing some big stars to help bring new and fresh talent to the football club.
