JakeMCFC 6,315
Re: Gold Championship 50 - Match Report / Transfers Thread Ajax 2-2 PSV Kevin Strootman (9) John Carew (25) Williamis Souza (58) Edison Mendez (65) Ajax last night took on possible title chasers PSV at the Amsterdam Arena. PSV took a shock lead with just 9 minutes gone, Kevin Strootman outrunning Alderwield to slot home to put the under dogs ahead. PSV's lead last no longer than 16 minutes, John Carew again netting he's 5th goal in 3 games in all competitions, Carew looking the real deal for Ajax again this season. Ajax then came out second half looking strong and just before the hour mark took the lead, Brazilian Williamis Souza slotting home he's first for Ajax since moving from Russian to Holland. Ajax's lead was short lived, just 7 minutes later PSV equalised, Edison Mendez reviving the hopes of a possible turn around for PSV. The game finished all square at the Amsterdam Arena, draws for both teams see's Ajax move down to and PSV move away from top spot to 2nd, AZ topping the table with 2 games gone. (Eredivisie MoM: John Carew.) In other news, it is thought that arrival of REDDEVILFC has caught Jake's eye as he welcomes the fellow Englishmen to Holland and has insured that Herenveen, he's new club are capable now, of giving Ajax a challenge for the Eredivisie title. Gary Townsend 1,283
Re: Gold Championship 50 - Match Report / Transfers Thread Hamburger SV 1 - 2 Bayern München Half Time: (0 - 1) --------------- J.GAMEZ 78 --------------- R.DIEGO 19 G.YAYA TOURE 84 A dissappointing start to the new league campaign continues for Hamburger with a narrow defeat at home to title rivals Bayern Munchen. A slow start, both teams trying to work each other out, but the deadlock is broken after 19 minutes, Ribas DIEGO finishes from a yard, where were the defence? Bayern happy to be one goal up decide to defend and play on the counter attack, Hamburger look devoid of any ideas, struggling to get past the two holding midfield players. Half time, 0-1, The Hamburger manager looks furious, toys well and truly out of the pram, 4th official insists they are removed from the technical area before the start of the second half. 49 minutes and David JAROLIM is booked for kicking the ball away, fool, wasting time whilst losing, the manager gives him the daggers.52 minutes Santi CAZORLA takes out his man with his forearm and results in a yellow card, the Hamburger players surround the ref, how is that not a straight red, but English ref John Middleton is adamant it's only a yellow, I bet he's not reffing next week, disgraceful decision. 62 minutes Gonzalo CASTRO is booked for an off-the-ball incident, these Bayern players know all the tricks, word is they have been working on this in training. 78 minutes and out of the blue a goal for the home team, Jesús GAMEZ rises above the defender and glances a header inside the far post! undeserved but Hamburger don't care, the game is level, 1-1. 84 minutes and disaster, a corner is headed clear only as far as Gnégnéri YAYA TOURE who hits it on the half-volley into the roof of the net! that's his first goal since scoring in the penalty shoot out in the under 8 cup final back in the Ivory Coast capital of Yamoussoukro. Bayern hold on for a 2-1 win, probably deserved, only two shots on target but both counted, Hamburger need to go back to the drawing board to recapture last seasons title form. Barry MUFC 5,216
Re: Gold Championship 50 - Match Report / Transfers Thread 3-1 Matchday: 3 Artemio Franchi Att: 47,284 Fiorentina managed by: Barry Golden Milan managed by: Mrs Tiger Baker Pazzini celebrates his opening goal. FIORENTINA MAKE IT 3 OUT OF 3! Fiorentina’s incredible form this season has continued, with a brilliant performance in a 3-1 win at home to Milan. They play Catania away in the league on Wednesday. It was Fiorentina who broke the deadlock in this encounter. In the 5th minute, Pazzini took full advantage of Toure’s poor back pass and finished past the helpless Pepe Reina in the Milan goal. Pazzini was then denied soon after by a brilliant Pepe Reina save as Fiorentina started to press for another goal. Kuzmanovic hit a brilliant thirty yard shot which Reina could only parry into the direction of Fiorentina’s Brazilian forward Fred and he finished the ball into the net for 2-0 in the 26th minute. Santana then hit the post for Fiorentina as they really pressed for more goals. In stoppage time, Yuri Zhirkov tried to pull a goal back for Milan but chipped Frey only to hit the crossbar as the half ended. Half Time Fiorentina 2-0 Milan. It was a slow, scrappy start to the second half, with passes being exchanged between each side. Mario Santana hit the post for the second time in the match in the 64th minute, shooting from outside the area. Clarence Seedorf found himself in space two minutes later, but he to, hit the post. Mario Santana sent in a brilliant cross in for Jermaine Pennant at the back post who scored with a diving header which put the icing on the cake. Pirlo missed a good chance in the 86th minute, before Seedorf got a goal back for Milan in injury time. Fiorentina 3-1 Milan Full Time.
Guest Phill
Re: Gold Championship 50 - Match Report / Transfers Thread Schalke Last Gasp Winner! Schalke V Hertha Schalke Manager Phillip Thomas Went Into The Match Tonight With High Hopes. They Haven't Won A Competitive Game Yet This Season, And The Team Really Could Do With An Uplift. The First Team Were Put Out To Try And Get A Few Points On The Table. So, Lets Give You The Match Report; KICK-OFF The Match Hadn't Even Started At The Veltins Arena Yet, But There Was Already A Great Atmosphere, With Just Under Only 1000 Seats Empty. The First Couple Of Minutes Were Even, With Both Teams' Players Getting Their Fair Share Of The Ball. The First Bit Of Action Started With A Yellow Card. We Knew This Was Going To Be A Rough Game, And We Knew We Were Right When Simunic Luckily Got Away With Taking Out A Man, And Only Getting That Yellow. Schalke Didn't Have The Best Of Halves, Because Clint Dempsey Raced Through On Goal After A Mistake, And Smashed The Ball Into The Roof Of Consigli's Net. Showing His Frustration, Summer Signing Lass Diarra Earned Himself His First Yellow Card Of His Schalke Career, After Showing Violent Conduct. That Was About All That Happened In The First Half. HALF-TIME SCORE: 0-1 In The Start Of The Second Half, Hertha Dominated, Well, Atleast Until The Changing Point Of The Game, When Edin Dzeko Luckily Got A Tap In After The Hertha Keeper Drobny Foolishly Dropped The Ball. James Milner Did All He Could To Earn Himself The Ball, After He Was Tackled While He Was Trying Out Some New Skills, But He Unhappily Received A Caution For A Late Challenge. Schalke's Fans Were Down, As Hertha Dominated. But Suddenly, After A Clumsy Mistake From Scorer Dempsey, Bordon Picked Up The Ball From His Own Half, Played A 1-2 With Dzeko, 1 On 1 Against The Hertha Keeper And Thumps It Into The Top Corner! The Ref Blew Full Time And Schalke Fans Ran Onto The Pitch. FULL-TIME SCORE: 2-1 Only Bad Thing Came Out Of That Game, Is That Bastos Is Now Injured For 8 Weeks With A Broken Collarbone Bordon Celebrating His Late Winner In Front Of The Schalke Fans. JakeMCFC 6,315
Re: Gold Championship 50 - Match Report / Transfers Thread Ajax 4-1 FC Twente Eljero Elia (17) Thomas Hitzlsperger (33) John Carew (35) Urby Emanuelson (79) Aleksandr Bukharov (84) Ajax tonight bounced back on a 2-2 draw midweek against PSV as some described as a "stalemate" by beating FC Twente in style 4-1 inside the Amsterdam Arena. Ajax shown skill early one but on their first attack FC Twente produced a shock inside the Amsterdam Arena, Eljero Elia showing he is argubly a key player for Twente finishing neatly past Pele. The Twente goal caught Ajax by suprise, after 2 big attacks from Ajax they turned the game on it's head within 2 minutes, Thomas Hitzlsperger and John Carew putting Ajax in a very commanding position going in at the break. The second half wasn't as good as the first but Ajax wrapped up their needed 3 points late on, Urby Emanuelson showing he still has the quality to produce for Ajax with clinical finishing. Aleksandr Bukharov then sealed off a comfortable Ajax win inside the Amsterdam Arena. The win lifts Ajax up to 1st whilst Twente move down to 8th. (Eredivisie MoM: John Carew.) Reports coming out of Spain claim that Atletico Madrid will sign national superstar David Beckham in the next 24 hours, after fighting off interest from Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen. The former England captain, 34, is currently playing for managerless Burnley, who are languishing in 16th place. The fee is expected to be around £12million. Atletico manager LinkinP has spoke of his delight at signing Beckham, who he claims is the perfect replacement for Maxi Rodriguez, who left as part of a deal to bring superstar Wayne Rooney to the club. Beckham is expected to lead a mass exodus from the premier league club, as star forward Allasane is also expected to leave. Newspapers in England suggest the French ace will join Palmeiras for £6million. Atletico currently sit third in La Liga, gaining 7 points from the first 3 games.
