Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 Ratings

Toulouse - Nice

Preview

Toulouse have the advantage tomorrow (:() as they've beat Nice several times in the past, and they have the great Gignac to bag a goal every second or two. Nice are missing Apam and Rool due to suspensions and one of their best players, Remy, due to an injury. Hellebuyck will play, which is probably the only positive point for Nice. Also, Diakite and Fae will play. M'Bengue will be playing for Toulouse, so that's someone to look out for apart from Gignac.

Grenoble - Le Mans

Preview

Just to mention, when I do previews, I will tend to do them on significant matches only, to save time.

The usual youngsters will play for Le Mans. Maiga will most likely perform very well, but Dossevi really needs to make better choices on the pitch. Paulo Andre should get another typical match that'll add to his rise.

On the home side, the only one to look forward too is Feghouli, who'll hopefully whip in some crosses and get an assist or two.

Edit: Stromstad, Helstad, Keita, and Geder will not show up for Le Mans.

Caen - Lyon

Preview

Lyon haven't won in 4 games, and need to do so quickly before they lose their top spot. Something tells me Savidan will score against them, seeing how horrible they're doing at the moment. An injury crisis has put Clerc, Bodmer, Ederson, Reveillere, and maybe another 50 players out. :P On top of that, Govou's out for getting caught drunk-driving, and Grosso's suspended. Talk about wear and tear. :P Historically, Caen aren't too bad against Lyon too. I expect Lyon to go down to 3rd place this round.

Edit: looks like Ederson has recovered and should play.

Monaco - Bordeaux

Preview

I'm looking forward to Bordeaux winning more, as they have the more promising players. However, Monaco do have Ruffier, who is a rather good keeper, and Licata, who is getting starts and could cement into the first team. Monaco are having a somewhat unfortunate few weeks, though, so that cancels out their chances. Anyway, Bordeaux have Cavenaghi and Yoann Gourcuff to smash Monaco with. :D

Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 Ratings

Good stuff as usual. I wonder how long it takes to do any one team. For me it takes 20 mins just to type out this friggin message. :)

I'm sorry, It doesn't take me 20 minutes. It takes me half an hour. But well done on the risers, and the previews' as well. It must take a lot of early rising to get up for the games in France. You must have Setanta to watch the games.

Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 Ratings

Toulouse 2-2 Nice

Review

Lucky, lucky Nice. Toulouse made 22 shots and Nice made only 8, yet by some miracle Toulouse couldn't win. :P Gignac scored the two goals from the home side, which is not too suprising. M'Bengue didn't start, but instead subbed on at the very end.

If any Nice player was responsible for Toulouse's inability to score more (Gignac took 7 shots!), that person would be Ospina, the keeper. L'Equipe named him Nice's man of the match, and I agree completely. Things are looking better and better for him. :)

Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 Ratings

Caen 0-1 Lyon

Review

The scoreline is the most appropriate one for the teams' performances. Caen had nearly as many chances as their opposition, but failed to make any of them.

Savidan did an okay job, but could have gotten a goal if he wasn't in Caen.

Toudic came on as a substitute late on and got 4 chances to score, but can't seem to control his shot power. Actually, I can say that about the entire team. So many chances were wasted!

Lloris did a good job in getting a clean sheet, although he didn't really have anything to be bothered by.

The Lyon defence, mainly Cris and Boumsong, performed well.

Delgado was class today. He dribbled up and down the pitch and set up Benzema and Fred many times - and Benzema was the one to make the most of his passing. I do hope he plays more. :)

Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 Ratings

Lille 3-1 Le Havre

Another day, another Michel Bastos goal! :D Lille had many shots, and they counted today.

Emerson and Rami had another full match to add to their impending rises.

Cabaye and Obraniak were Lille's other scorers. The former could get a chance to hit 90 if he keeps this up.

Lorient 1-2 Rennes

This round is a rather odd one. Asamoah, who hasn't done anything significant at all this season, scored a goal for Rennes.

Sow was Rennes' other scorer, and Lorient's was Morel.

Gameiro played the full match, but didn't get a goal. Still good, though.

Amalfitano also played, as well as most of Lorient's risers.

Recommended Player of the Team - Christian BEKAMENGA

He's not so much of a long-term prospect as a one-off big riser. His stats speak for himself. Whenever he is not in the starting squad, he makes an appearance as a substitute. Plus, he has scored 2 goals, altogether being good enough for SM to give him something a little below a starter's rating - although they will probably be a little strict and do so over two rating changes. The goals he scored are in the videos below.

PSG 2-2 Valenciennes

Review

I can't believe PSG didn't win this one. Not only are Valenciennes already a terrible team, but PSG had 10 more shots and 3 more on-target shots than their opposition.

Hoarau and Rothen were the home side's scorers, which is not unusual. What was unusual was PSG's horrible shooting.

Anyway, the usual starters played for them. Nothing special.

Marseille 0-3 Nancy

Review

I lol'd a lot when I saw the scoreline. :P What an odd round this has been.

Marseille had the usual good players, but they totally failed today. :P

Nancy played N'Diaye, but not Macaluso. Chretien and Biancalani played, so they could reduce their chances of dropping...

Hadji scored a brace and, oddly, Dia grabbed a goal.

Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 Ratings

Monaco 3-4 Bordeaux

Review

What a cracking match! Bordeaux went from 3-0 down to 4-3 up in less than 40 minutes!

Two goals were scored by Licata, and one by Pino. L'Equipe named them Monaco's top players, and I agree. In fact, I think Licata wasn't even finished when he was taken off the pitch. An 8/10 would have been more appropriate for him. Pino scored a wonderful free kick and nearly repeated it. He also assisted Licata's two goals.

Nimani subbed in pretty lately, but it was an appearance nonetheless.

Freddy Adu was subbed in as well, but didn't do anything.

Kaita started for the second time this season, and Gosso also started.

On the away side, Chamakh made a huge impact. He subbed on at the break and scored 2 goals, being the man of the match.

Cavenaghi scored yet again, which puts his goal count to 11, tied with Hoarau.

Traore got another start on the right side. He should seriously be put onto the DB. He's not too bad of a player, too.

Gourcuff started as usual.

Recommended Player of the Team - Amadou ALASSANE

This being the last team in the table, I suggest you don't buy anyone from here at all, but if you just want to know who to look out for here, then the only here is Alassane. He is the club's highest goalscorer, and is their only solidly starting forward. He has also gotten an assist in his matches, which is also good. As usual, the videos here all show some of his goals.
