Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread

I think most players would agree with you to be honest.

I still like the game but it hasn't improved much - if any.

They've spent too much time on the look of the game rather than how the game plays.

I can count 0 game engine updates and around 1750 social media incorporations and face lifts.

That's one of my points.....the game looked better when I started as we had club badges which makes the site look a lot better.

As for the match engine that's been neglected for years and I doubt will ever get much attention unfortunately.

Though things have been improving for Rayo Vallecano, they haven’t been improving as quickly as hoped for. The objective this season was to qualify for the SMFA Shield; the club fell 6 points short. That objective will remain the same next season. There is cause for excitement as the club is deeper than ever, shoring up a weaker defense with the additions of Cristian Zapata and Luca Caldirola. Hopefully this is the year for Rayo!

Projected Starting XI:

88 Sommer

7.55 – Tomas Pina (25th in league)

There was never much doubt that Mallorca were in control of the Segunda this season. This became even more obvious after the signing of star striker Robin van Persie from Usti nad Labem (don’t know what he was doing there) for 23 million, Victor and Emilio Nsue. Since then, the club is 12-1-1 and there was no way to stop them. With a bona fine star on the squad, hopefully they’ll be able to replicate the success in front of the bright lights of La Liga.

Projected Starting XI:

88 Jefferson

7.59 – Jurgen Gjasula (17th in Bulgaria)

7.45 – Armando Vajushi

7.33 – Iliyan Yordanov

After taking over a struggling Litex midseason, insider decided to burn everything to the ground and to start fresh. It was clearly the strategy that needed to be implemented to eventually compete with Levski at the top, who have built a team that’s probably good enough to be a competitive team in the SMFA Cup this season. The goal for next season is to finish 2nd in the league and to win at least one trophy. It should be manageable, Litex ended the season much better than they’d started it.

Projected Starting XI:

82 Padelli

85 D’Ambrosio – 82 Mechele – 83 Turner

5 – Vieirinha

5 – Bas Dost

Top performers (6 games min) :

7.61 – Rodrigo Lima

7.45 – Bas Dost

7.42 - Diego

Well, this is embarrassing. It’s not a particularly competitive setup… the team just didn’t perform. Start midfielder Diego chipped in only 2 goals and no assists in 28 games, always played in position. Bad performances in the league, bad draw (Bayern!) in the cups… just seems like nothing went our way. On the bright side, I now know how I’m going to get by Bundersliga 2. Trophy that I’ve been waiting for. Champions or bust! Unfortunately, this team is likely to bust.

Projected Starting XI:

89 Benaglio

88 Chico – 89 Naldo – 88 Rodriguez

88 – Ruben Amorim – 91 Diego – 87 Koo – 88 Olic

89 Lima – 89 Dost – 89 Vieirinha

23 Fabinho – Rio Ave

24 Mattias Johansson - AZ

25 Neto - Fiorentina

A gold championship got created one hour ago and not one post about it in here:o, years ago this thread would of been getting a very lot of posts, guess times change. Is it hard to get a 'big' team these days? Only 24 reserved currently in the new GC, thinking of buying gold member tonight. Also, how much is it to reserve a team?

Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread

Has the game really gone that bad?

I think most on the forum would agree that they enjoyed SM more a couple of years ago. They've done lots of changes that has made the community increasingly frustrated, some of them are the Soccerwiki and changing how they review players. F.ex. they no longer announce which league is next to be reviewed and go through all teams one by one. Nowadays it appears to be done almost at random, and some leagues seem to get some-what neglected.

But to get to the actual gc's, most of them are dying out with only around 40-50 managed teams in each one which has made them a lot less competitive as you can buy great players for cash from unmanaged bigger clubs.

It's hard to completely blame SM tho when it appears managers has found the way to force open new ones whenever it pleases them. :o

Anyway, I still enjoy quite a few gc's that I'm in that are around 50 managed sides in.

I'd recommend that if you want to try it out then start with buying a month GM and try it out yourself.

Or maybe just start out with some custom game worlds for now, there's plenty forum-based ones out there :)

Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread

Yeah, it's not as bad as most people would make out in general.

It's just a few main things - Such as the advertisements and the fact SM just spend all of their time updating the look of the site rather than the actual game engine. They're essentially not improving their product, but their marketing of their product.

Has the game really gone that bad?
For me yes. I really enjoyed GC's as they were the most competitive setups about, now they are made every 2 days and half the sides are unmanaged with a few weeks. I mean there are 13 Liverpool sides available in GC's as I speak. 2-3 years ago there wouldn't have been one.

Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread

I'm genuinely shocked at how many teams are available when searching, e.g. Bayern, Dortmund, Liverpool, City. Few years ago people would be up at 5am when the job offers are released for them.

Whats this adverts on match reports? Does ad block not even cancel it out?

Also, as for the gold membership, I'm going to give it a month I think. See if I can pick up/build a team worth getting the years membership for

It does, well mostly. You still get a black screen where it would have been for a second or so before it goes away. (at least for most of us)

Just think you're using IE instead of a fast browser and it'll be like any other page load :P

Ah thats good then. Can see myself end up buying gold for 12 month after anyway. Really hope I can get a Bayern/Barca/Real in the next 30 days, that are pretty much intact:o
