Re: Gold Championship 53/Match Reports/Transfers.

B.Monchengladbach take the Bundesliga!

It was cat and mouse between Bayern Munchen and B.Mon'bach towards the end of the season. Bayern had their revenge exactly a month ago when they trashed the Die Folen 6-1 which brought the giants back into the title race. However, since then, the Die Folen have not faltered and managed to win all of their 6 games. Their home record stays intact with no team being able to beat them at Borussia Park. They finished 11 points ahead of second place Bayern Munchen and the manager was delighted with what the club has achieved since his arrival.

Many thought that the turning point of the season was when Bayern demolished Mon'bach and pundits were tipping the giants for another title. Not only did Mon'bach lose but they also lost 3 key players. Marin was seriously injured and was stretchered off and it was later confirmed that the youngster was out for the rest of the season. Van der Wiel and Pablo Amo were also sent off in that game which meant that Sheva was to face selection headaches ahead. Rodrigo Mancha, Levels and Baumjohann filled in brilliantly for the unavailable 3 for the rest of the season and the Die Folen secured the league with two games in hand.

When asked on the player of the season, the manager had no hesitation in calling out the name of his goalie. Corona has been solid all season and has earned 10 MoMs in 32 appearances. The team has taken a new look for next season. Tranquillo Barnetta was shipped off to Portugal with right back Zdenek Grygera and centre back Jorge Rolando heading to Germany. Both are expected to be regulars next season with Pablo Amo returning to Spain after his season long spell in Germany. Youngster, Alexander Baumjohann will replace Barnetta after he impressed since the injury of Marin.

Baumjohann and Marin are two of the three players that survived from the team Hans Meyer left last season.

Goias end of season report

Under new boss, Alex Thom, Goias dominated the Brazillian second division for much of the season. However ended up fighting right up until the last game as Corinthians closed the gap and a bad run of form from goias saw the gap down to 1 point. However Goias ended up top by 4 points thanks to a 2-0 win over Figueirense on the closing day of the season, which sees them promoted next season.

Goias also managed to win the Brazillian shield, beating Vasco da Gama 3-1 in the final, having already knocked out teams such as Atletico Paranaense and São Paulo.

The Goias boss hopes his team can be just as successful next season in the top flight.

News is quickly shooting across Rome tonight after new manager Jake A has confirmed that he is currently negotiating with the Borussia Monchengladbach manager over a possible transfer of Brazilian LB Marcelo who is looking to leave Germany. It was thought that Borussia Monchengladbach manager Sheva contacted Jake about a possible transfer for Marcelo as he was inetersted in joining the club, Jake has now made the offer for the Brazilian that was suggested by the Borussia manager and Jake is just now awaiting Monchengladbach to accept the transfer bid.

We managed to catch up with the new Roma manager shortly after announcing the interest of the 21 year old Brazilian and this is what he had to say to our SkySportsNews Sources "I can confirm that our interest has been made in the Brazilian, I am just awaiting the Borussia Monchengladbach manager to accept now and send Marcelo to Italy. I am still negotiating also with Manchester United manager B Davey after he claimed he's interest in Italian DM/CM Daniel De Rossi who has been told by me and the Roma chairman that he is free to talk to other clubs after rejecting a new 3 year contract."

Goias end of season report

League

With Goias winning the second division last season and gaining promotion to the first division, meant Goias initial aim for the season was to stay away from those relegation places and going straight back down. However as the season went on, after a couple of bad runs the manager got his players confidence back and with the help of new striker Giancarlo Maldonado, the team started establishing itself in the top division and aimed for a top 2 finish which it successfully gained, finishing second place behind league champions Sao Paulo, who lead Goias by 12 points. However with 18 wins, 8 draws and 10 loses in their 36 league games Goias managed to finish 5 points above 3rd and 4th placed Vasco da gama and Sport Recife.

Brazilian Shield

With Goias being last seasons Brazilian Shield champions meant they automatically skipped the first round and went straight into the draw for round 2 which saw them drawn against the might of Sao Paulo, but the home advantage worked to Goias favour and after a tense game Goias managed a 3-2 victory after an 87th minute winning goal from Maldonado.

The quarter final draw soon came around and saw Goias face Vitoria, which they comfortably won 2-0 and resulted in them playing away against a strong Cruzeiro side in the semi final, which again Goias won Comfortably 2-0.

Goias had done it again and reached the final and the chance to hold onto their title, however the team they had to beat was the team they beat in the same final last season, Vasco da gama. Goias lost the game 2-1 with Vasco not wanting a repeat of last season and being the more hungry of the 2 earnt them the Shield.

Brazilian Cup

Goias automatically skipped the first round and were drawn away against Santos in the second round. With a very poor performance Goias were smashed out of the cup quickly by Santos 3-0.

SMFA Shield

Newly promoted Goias were also entered into the SMFA shield for the first time and after an impressive 4-1 victory in their first leg at home against Estudiantes Tecos, Goias had a very good chance of progressing past the first round, which even after a 3-1 loss in the second leg to Estudiantes still managed to progress to the second round, where they had to face the Italian might of Fiorentina. The gap in quality showed and Goias lost the game at home 2-0. With the Goias manager knowing his team had an impossible task to go away and beat Fiorentina in the second leg, he feared an embarassing loss but his team went out and held the superior Fiorentina team to a 1-1 draw meaning they went out of the competition with some confidence when returning to Brazil.

How the players rated

Last man

With the arrival of Spanish Goal keeper Jose Pinto from Barcelona at the end of last season it looked like Goias veteran Goal keeper Harlei's days were numbered as number 1. However with both keepers getting games this season, Brazilian Harlei, at 37 years old managed to hold off the younger Spaniard and keep his place as Goias number 1 goal stopper.

5368_harlei.jpg

Still Goias number 1, Harlei

Defensive line

With a number of tough central defenders to choose from, Goias mostly relied on the experiance of Hilton in the middle with either Igor or solid youngster Ernando playing alongside him. On the right and left of the defence the favourites consisted of Brazilians Vitor and Julio Cesar, who as well as strong defensivly, performed well at wiping up the flanks and helping with attacking plays.

1482048180-soccer-uefa-champions-league-group-d-liverpool-v-olympique-marseille.jpg

Experianced defender Hilton

joueur.jpg

Solid youngster Ernando

Good mix in the middle

Goias good mix of Midfield was key to their success this season with strong holding midfielders like Midfield general Ramalho and Nigerian Okonkwo and attacking midfielders such as the experianced Paulo Baier, Neves Jeda and Leo Lima saw great defensive and attacking play.

200px-Joja_Romalio.jpg

Goias midfield general Ramalho

Up front

One of Goias best goal scorers of the season came through new signing, Venezuelan striker Maldonado, who in 15 appearances scored 7, assisted 5 and gave 6 man of the match displays. The other was Goias veteran, 35 year old Pedro Iarley who also managed 7 goals, 8 assists and 6 man of the match displays. Alessandro also netted 6 times for Goias with Paulo Baier and moreno putting in 4 each.

iarley.jpg

Veteran goal scorer Iarley

Whats next?

The manager spoke of his aims for next season being to continue making Goias potential title winners, in the league, shield and cup and also to show the SMFAs stronger foreign teams that Goias might not be the strongest of teams but are looking to make a name for themselves.

Realistically though the Goias manager hopes this season wasnt just a lucky one!

Bayern Munich Update:

Bayern Munich have finished second for the second season in a row. The legendary manager SOP beat Golden to the title by 5 points with his Werder Bremen side. I believe it was his goal keeper who was the reason the team didn't win. I'm hoping to sign a 90+ Goalkeeper and willing to give Rensing and Van Bommel.

They failed to get out of their Smfa Champions Cup group and Lost out in the 3rd round of the shield and also the 3rd round of the German Cup. Samuel Eto'o scored 16 goals with 18 assists in the league. Klose got 26 goals in the season. A generally poor season for Bayern but I hope to win something next season.

I'm Desperate for a keeper 90+ so anyone who is willing to sell contact me on SM.

Bayern Munich managed by: Barry Golden.

Bayern Munchen's good start to the new season continued with a thumping 4-0 victory in Bochum. The On fire Samuel Eto'o used his pace to tear past centre back Yahia and bury his shot past the despearing dive of Fernandes in a wonderful solo goal. Diego hit the crossbar in the 30th minute with a clean strike from outside the six yard box. Diego became the provider as he played a brillant ball over the top which Eto'o got onto and he placed the ball under the outcoming Fernandes.

As good teams do Bayern came out all guns blazing and they were 3-0 up after Klose headed in Ze Roberto's peach of a cross on 48 minutes. Ze Roberto then scored himself, after getting on the end of a Malouda corner on 57 minutes. Eto'o unfortunately hit the post in the 90th minute to deny him a hat trick. Bayern keep the pressure on Hamburg, now three points behind, after they drew 1-1 all at home to SOP's Werder Bremen.

Bayern Munchen continued there excellent run of form beating rebel side FC St.Pauli 6-1 at home. The win keeps Bayern on the tail of Hamburg SV in 1st and continues their great run of form. There next game is away to Arminia Bielefeld.

This game had the most insane start as all of the goals came in the first 36 minutes. The first came when Dejan Stankovic thundered a shot into the top corner from 10 yards. Salva Sevilla equalised for Pauli after 8 minutes to send the travelling fans wild. Their joy was short lived as 6 minutes later Barzagli headed in a Stankovic corner and 20 seconds later Diego made it 3-1 with a screamer from 30 yards. Unbelievably 34 seconds after that Diego scored a carbon copy of the goal he had just scored to make it 4-1. Bayern continued to press and played some lovely passing. Van Bommel made it 5-1 when he side footed a rebounded shot from Klose. Brazilian wonderkid Ciro made it 6-1 five minutes later with a low strike after his pace took him past the defender. 6-1 at half time and game over.

The second half was much more quiet with few chances for either side. Ciro blazed a shot over the bar in the 58th and Klose headed just wide in the 64th. Diego tried for a hattrick only to be denied by the post in the 84th minute and deep in injury time Dani Alves hammered a shot which deflected off Klose and into the goal only for it to be ruled out for off side. Great Performance from Bayern.
