Re: Netherlands 2008/2009 Rating Changes

Love the idea, cause I'm a big fan of the Eredivisie :D

Would be lovely if you could pinpoint like "the star player/talent" of each team, so that people can differentiate between money spinners and real talent to keep.

Good luck mate, hope you have fun;)

Miralem Sulejmani,20 F/W 88

Miralem Sulejmani is a 20-year-old forward who currently plays for Ajax since joining them from Hereenven this season for 16.25 million euros, breaking the Dutch transfer-record, with the previous record also having been for a transfer between the two Eredivisie-clubs for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Serbian youngster is tipped by many to be the next big thing in football and following the departure of Huntelaar to Real Madrid, expect the young starlet to fill the void left by Huntelaar. Much will be expected of the young exciting pairing of Sulejmani and Luis Suarez up front, two young prospects.

Slobodan Rajkovic,19 CB/LB 84

The hot-headed 19-year-old is currently in the midst of his 1-year suspension from football after spitting at a referee. Still, there is no denying the potential of this Chelsea player, currently on loan at Dutch side FC Twente. As with all youth players, breaking into the first-team is hard, resulting in many ending up on loan spells to get first-team action. While it is still early to call the judgment on Rajkovic, only time can tell if he truly fulfills his potential.

Dirk Marcellis,20 CB/RB 87

Dirk Marcellis. English fans got to know him for the wrong reason when he was sent off on his Champions League debut against Liverpool back in 2007. Oh what a year it has been for the promising dutch defender. The 20-year-old was also part of the Dutch Olympic squad where he was a central figure for them in defence. Now a starter for PSV, the defender, who at 1.81m isn't the tallest of defenders, won his first cap for the Dutch senior side in October 2008. A player to keep an eye on for sure.

The 28-year-old Ghanaian has been really profilic for NAC Breda this season, scoring 11 goals in 13 games. He managed the same number in 25 games the previous season in his debut season with the Dutch club. If he keeps up his prolific rate, a rise in rating would be on the cards for Matthew Amoah.

Looking good so far matey! :P

you not reckon Sno from Ajax not worth a sneaky 85/6? he's played in all their UEFA cup games so far hasn't he?

Or are you not taking that into account?

Keep going =p

Well to be honest, I don't know anything about their UEFA Cup stats, hence i wrote only I'll base my predictions based only on league games. But maybe would you mind helping me? Should I miss any who will rise due to European competition involvements, could you point them out? I'll give you credit when I'm done. Cheers

Re: Netherlands 2008/2009 Rating Changes

Only 2 problems so far:

1) Ari and Pelle cannot have the same rating. Ari scored 7, Pelle none. Either Ari +1, or Pelle -1 (the latter seems much more realistic)

2) Nijland is rated 83 already and i think he should stay. Maybe +1 if he improves his stats

Good work ;)

Marcus Berg,22 CF 89

Marcus Berg, FC Groningen’s 22-year-old Swedish striker, is a great talent who has been considered to be an up-and-coming star since he was playing in the youth teams at IFK Goteberg. Berg’s rise has been rapid. In 2005 he was elevated to the first team squad of IFK Goteborg. Two years later, after scoring 14 goals in 17 games in 2007, he signed for his current club on a four-year contract.

Playing for one of the lesser lights in Holland, Berg has adapted exceptionally well. In his first season in the Netherlands he scored 15 goals in 25 games.

As FC Groningen’s target striker, Berg has proved he can do almost everything, he shoots and heads well, is quick, has good positional sense and he works hard and battles for the cause. He could still improve his ball control but he has a great character, is level-headed and intelligent.

You are doing anything in your power to raise your reputation lol' date=' it is quite obvious, but w.e. you got some from me...:(:):D[/quote']

Firstly No. I don't think I did ask for rep anywhere did I? So accusing me isn't too nice :( Honestly. What makes me happier would be to see replies or a rating, not the rep. If i were to do it for the rep, I wouldn't spend so much time doing this. I just like doing rating predictions, same reasons why some forumers like answering questions in "Player Assistance".

And I feel just being a forumer - the type who just views threads and not give anything back to the forum is useless. Not against anyone or something. But since I've created a forum account, why just sit back and let it rot? Haha. :)

Cheers,

Caleb

Re: Netherlands 2008/2009 Rating Changes

I also did not finish my EPL one as many felt it was pointless as the EPL changes were ages away. Similarly, my Belgium attempt was aborted due to my lack of interest later on. I did not continue my Mexican one as I'll admit I'm not exactly knowledgeable when it comes to Mexico. So in case you are thinking I'm one who creates a thread, garner some rep points and quit halfway, I'm not that man. Really.

Thanks pal. Its Ari and Pelle which leaves me confused. Ari and Pelle both started the same number of games in the league if I'm not wrong. Just that Ari has 7 goals, Pelle has none. So do you think Ari should hit 87 or should Pelle drop? I think a rise for Ari might be too generous? Considering the fact that he isn't a regular first-teamer yet.
