The 3 players consist of young Germans Omar Toprak and Alexander Baumjohann as well as Brazilian Adriano Buss Henrique. The latter is the most exciting defender in Germany and Read is very excited to aqquire his services.

"This kid is the best thing going around at the moment and i am very excited to have him in the team. Although i already have the likes of Chiellini, Demichelis and Van Buyten, Adriano will be the future of this club when Van Buyten starts getting on as well and Martin (Demichelis)."

Henrique also expressed his delight at signing for the German giants. "I have signed a 5 year deal and in those 5 years, and hopefully more, ill give my all at this brilliant club. Although they didnt win the league they are definately going to be contenders for many seasons to come and hopefully i can be apart of that."

Comeback Kings

Bayern Munchen have gotten off to the perfect start to their second season coming from 2-0 down to beat Italian side and last year's cup winners AC Milan.

The Germans, who before the game had just completed the signing of Rene Adler, were playing with a full first team squad for the first time since round 1 last year.

Veteran defender Paulo Maldini received a caution in the first minute for kicking the ball away before Allessandro Nesta surprisingly ran up to collect a through ball and round Adler, finishing from an acute angle. 1-0 Milan.

Altintop looked set to put Milan further ahead but his shot smashed into the post. Kaka recieved a yellow in the 22nd for failing to move back 10 metres for the free-kick. Former Bayern midfielder Mark Van Bommel showed to Read why he shouldnt of got rid of him, following up a Ronaldinho shot which was fumbled gifting the Dutch international with an easy goal.

340x.jpg

Nesta scores first for Milan

Bayern looked down and out, 2-0 down and all their shots firing way wide. That was until glamour boy Cristiano Ronaldo latched onto a back pass that fell short of the keeper cooly curling it into the top corner. Bayern had a glimmer of hope.

Gago received a yellow card after half-time for time wasting. Podolski, usually bang on target, somehow fired his shot over the bar from 6 yards much to the disbelief of his team and manager. However 8 minutes later the German collected a header at the back post sneaking it past Abbiati, which caused an eruption of noise from the away end.

Milan fans were in shock, but this was nothing compared to what whould happed 28minutes later. Both sides looked set to be playing for the draw, but someone forgot to tell Lukas Podolski that. Schweinteiger raced down the right wing, ran inside of one defender, crossing it into the box to find the feet of Podolski, who sent Abbiati the wrong way. Munich had completed the comeback.

Munich fans are estatic

"3 shots, 3 goals. All that shows is that when we get on target, we score. I think that shows how good my striker are and even midifielders. This was a dream start, I just hope they dont make it so nerve racking every week," said Bayern manager Read.

TRANSFER NEWS: Bayern Munich have announced the signings of Rene Adler, Andres Beck and James Holland to their ever growing list. The trio came for a combined 17.5 million + Guilhermo Ochoa. Bayern announced that Ochoa left because his performances were sub-standard, even though Bayern had the 2nd best Against record last season. Adler and Beck signed on for 2 years while Holland agreed to 5 years.

Bayern Bounce Back Over Atletico

Bayern Munich have bounced back perfectly from their 1-0 loss against Internazionale, downing last seasons cup winners Atletico Madrid 4-2 in a thrilling encounter at the Vicente Cauldron.

The German's struck first in front of a 55,000 strong crowd through Daniele Dessena. The Italian capitilised on Madrid's defensive mistake which gave him an open header from a Cristiano Ronaldo cross. The lead was short lived however with Sergio Aguero climbing high to head home a Robin Van Persie cross.

The Spaniards struck 1minute later through Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian somehow got the ball into the back of the net after a scramble in the box with legs flying all over the place before a roar erupted from the crowd signifying that the Bulgarian got it over the line.

The Bavarians werent going to lie down though, with Crisiano Ronaldo equalising in the 20th after curling home a 29-yard beauty past veteran goalkeeper David James. The scores remained locked at 2-2 for the remainder of the half.

The second half began the way the first did with Miroslav Klose cheekily chipped James and in turn putting Bayern into the lead for the second time in the match. The German's didnt trust a 1-goal advanatage with Phillip Lahm breaking into the box and casually tapping the ball past the keeper with what seemed to be no trouble from the defence.

The Bavarians then went on to win with the 4-2 scoreline, catapulting them to 5th, 1 behind fellow German's VFB Stutgart. The game did come with its lows though with Phillip Lahm set to miss 7 weeks of action after tearing his calf muscle. The wing-back, who missed almost half the season last year with an injury, will be replaced by Matteo Rubin for the match against Roma while manager Read looks for a long term replacement.

Fabio Arrives Awaiting Arrival of Brother

Bayern Munich have announced the arrival of Fabio da Silva, twin brother of Rafael da Silva. The left-sided defender arrived for a fee of $1 million after Bayern faced some stiff competition for the youngsters signature. Read is hoping he can pair up the brothers, and is even more determined after the announcement of Willy Sagnol's retirement from professional football.

It was sad to hear that Willy was retiring at the end of the season, he has done so much for us in the past and hopefully we can send him out a winner. We will focus everything on the league from now on.I am hoping to sign Fabio's brother ready to back-up Chris(Christian Lell) for next season. If he does sign it will arouse a lot of competition between Lell, De Silvestre,Davide Santon and Andreas Beck.

Match Preview: Bayern Munich vs AS Roma

Division 1 fans are gearing up for what is been selected as the "Match of the Round", with German gianst Bayern Munchen hosting Italian big boys AS Roma in week 4 of the league. The Romans, who started the season poorly, have suddenly found their feet downing fellow Italians Internazionale 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bayern, however, are having to deal with suspension to Fernando Gago (who will return after this match) and injury to left-sided defender Philipp Lahm. The German international will miss 6 weeks of action with a torn calf muscle. The 25-year old suffered a similar injury last season which saw him miss 8 weeks of action. The Italians are also walking wounded with right back Christian Panucci set to miss the match with a chest injury.

202388.jpg

Phillip Lahm will miss 6 weeks of action after tearing his calf

The match looks set to be a battle between young starlet Cristiano Ronaldo and ageing vetren Robert Pires. The pair had a heated row last time the two teams met which saw Pires get sent off and Ronaldo receive a yellow card. Read is hoping that Ronaldo can surpress his anger and shut Pires up by performing on the pitch.

I am hoping Ronny can use the anger inside to perform well and give him some determination. I am going to entrust the captincy with him and hope he can lead the boys to victory and possibly first place on the table.

Bayern Faulter Again As Pile Go Top

Bayern Munich have slumped to their second loss in a row, the longest they have gone without gaining a point since Read took over. The Bavarians were hopeless in defence allowing Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano to add to their tally's. The recentbad run of form has been blaimed on the recent injury to Phillip Lahm, who is set to miss another 6 weeks. They were also without centre-back Giorgino Chiellini who is out for 2 weeks on a suspension.

The Liverpudlians struck early on in the 17th with Torres seeming to waltz past the defence slotting hom a low drive. Mascherano then scored after half-time in the 53rd, who collected a through ball with ease giftin the Argentine with his 2nd for the season.

Other Bayern News: In other news, the Bavarians are still in search of a permanent replacement for Phillip Lahm and retiring Willy Sagnol. It is been said that negotiations have begun with Edgar Castillo of Santos Laguna, with Santos contenplating the deal.

Klose Double Helps Bayern Bounce Back

A Miroslav Klose double-helped Bayern bounce back after suffering two losses to down high-flying Chelsea 3-2 at the Allianz Arena. Despite their losing their last 2 games, Bayern fans flocked to rev their team up and they wernt dissapointed.

Goal-machine Lukas Podolski struck just before the 10 minute mark after majestically finishing into the top corner after breaking through the defensive wall to record his 3rd of the season and 22nd of his career.

610x.jpg

Podolski and Miroslav get a little too Klose while celebrating a goal

Klose scored his first 9 minutes later, collecting a Cristiano Ronaldo cross before emphatically hitting it home from 10-yards. Flamini saved the defense from an embarassing goal, clearing it from the 6-yard box.

Fernando Gago received his second card of the season for shirt-pulling. Florent Malouda somehow missed an easy tap-in with the shot firing wide, much to the dissapointment of the coaches and fans alike. Salamon Kalou didnt miss his chance though, latching onto a mis-guided pass in the midfield to gift the 23-year old with an easy goal.

Malouda didnt miss his next chance after half-time, heading home Micahel Ballack cross and the far post, equalising for the Londoners. Klose would however striker 9 minutes later again, cheekily chipping Petr Cech, scoring what would be the decisive goal.

610x.jpg

Klose celebrates his 2nd goal and the then unkown winner

Im happy, but not overly joyous. My strikers did good, as they always do, but my defenders just seemed to fall apart after half-time. I will definately be giving them some extra drills. But they are still getting used to Sheasy (O'Shea) at the back with them. I would also like to thank the fans for not giving up when we were down, they really helped the boys today

Bayern will face Lyon on the 7th of February at the Gerland.

TRANSFER NEWS: Bayer Munich have announced the arrivals of 2 more youth players, in the form of Mario Kirev and Bartosz Salamon. The pari arrived for a combined fee of $30k and will be immediately placed into the youth team.

Late Goal Saves Bayern's Bacon

An 87th-minute Ricardo Noir goal saved Bayern Munich from an embarassing 2-1 loss to Sampdoria, with the German's coming out winners from the penalty shoot-out.

It didnt take Podolski long to get into the ref's book, but this time it was for a yellow card offence with the striker caught-out shouting abusive language. Bellucci got his name in the black book as well.

After a relatively quiet half, the game opened up with captain for Bayern Daniel van Buyten, who is was possibly playing his last game for the Bavarians, collecting a through-ball from a perfect position and slotting home emphatically.

fcbvflb001.jpg

van Buyten celebrates only his second goal in 2 seasons

It wasnt going to be long before the Italians replied however, with Daniele Franceschini smashing the ball into the roof of the net after a corner was delivered right into his path.

Sammarco struck again for the visitors, this time casually rolling the ball past Rene Adler with what seemed to be not trouble from the defence.

The game looked like it was meant to be won by Sampdoria, with Lukas Podolski hitting the crossbar twice in the space of 3 minutes. All hope was lost for the Bavarians. There main striker wasnt on target, glamour boy Cristiano Ronaldo was been tied down by the defence, and Alejendro Sanchez was in la-la land.

But with 3 minutes to go, Ricardo Noir broke away past the defence before cooly slotting home past the keeper, and the youngster couldnt of been happier.

Then came the nerve racking penalty shoot-out, but Bayern wernt nervous at all. They seemed to be spurred on by the equaliser and came away with a 2-2 (2-0) win.

Departure of Van Buyten Starts a New Era

Daniel van Buyten has made a teary farewell just a few hours ago after the Belgian international ended a 3 year career at the Allianz Arena, with Argentine star Javier Gonzalo Rodriguez coming in to the Bavarians.

Van Buyten played his final game last night against Italian side Sampdoria, marking the end with a goal that helped his side progress to the next round. The centre-back becomes the 7th departure this year after Bayern Munich have suffered a terrible start to their 2nd campaign.

But when one door shuts, another opens. The door that opens is Argentine international defender Javier Gonzalo Rodriguez. The centre-back arrived from his former club Villarreal for a sum of $7 million + Van Buyten.

gonzalo1.jpg

Gonzalo is excited about the idea of playing with the likes of Chiellini and Lahm

He has spoken out about his joy in leaving Spain and hopes he can lead Bayern back to the top of the table.

Yeah, i was unhappy at Villarreal. I wasnt starting as many games as I would of liked and the manager didnt play tactics that suit me best. But I loved watching Munich, I admired Chiellini and Demichelis and Van Buyten, as well as Lahm. I happy that Read thinks I am good enough to play for a great team.

Rodriguez wont face Valencia tomorrow but will be fit for the big clash at Old Trafford against 4th placed Manchester United.

Bayern Pull Off Shock Cup Win

Bayern Munich have pulled off a shock cup win to record their 1st win in 5 games in all competitions, downing Villarreal. The match marked the debut of 2 stars, Gonzalo Rodriguez and Robert Acquafresca. The pair were supposed to start their first match against Manchester United, but were dropped in favour of Chiellini and Klose.

A quiet first half was suddenly thrown into chaos following Daniele Dessena's red-card for head-butting opponent Daniel Van Buyten following an on-field argument. The victim added more salt to the wound, firing home a superb strike to give the Spaniards a 1 goal advantage heading into the break.

The second half belonged to the young-guns. Alejendro Alexis Sanchez collected a superb cross from Acquafresca, volleying home another superb goal. The debutant capped off a stunning performance with a goal after the Villarreal keeper fumbled the ball after a Roque Santa Cruz shot.

Bayern Teaches Man. City A Lesson

Bayern Munich have taught Manchester City a lesson after the Bavarian giants wolloped the English side 7-0 in their cup outing. The Mancs couldnt contain the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mathieu Flamini, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski and Jesus Datolo, who all got their names on the scoresheet.

Miroslav Klose scored the first of many in the 12th minute, sliding past the defence and easily tapping away into an almost empty net. Podolski latched onto a deep corner from Flamini, diving in at the back post to give Munich a 2-0 goal advantage. Datolo extended it in the 29th with the Argentine heading home his own from a Miroslav Klose cross to give the Bavarians an almost uncatchable position before the half-hour mark.

Podolski grabbed his second of the night, and 5th of the season, on the 66th minute mark. The main-striker collected a poor clearence from the defence, smaking one past Joe Hart to worsen City's defensive woes. Bastian Schweinsteiger made it 5-0 after the wide-man beat the offside-trap to gift him with a one-on-one chance.

Flamini grabbed one for himself after setting up another in the first half, getting Bayern's 3 header-goal of the night after a Lukas Podolski cross fell to the unmarked Frenchmen. Schweinsteiger capped off the magnificent 7 collecting a fumbled shot from Joe Hart to place it away in the bottom corner.

Bayern's Dominating Cup Run Continues

They may not be flying high in the league, but Bayern Munich are surely impressing in the cup and sheild, with the Bavarian giants earning passage into the quaters for the Cup and 4th round of the sheild following their 4-1 win over Internazionale and a 7-0 win in the cup against Manchester City.

The Bavarians started strong against the Italians, firing away 6 close shots in the first 16 minutes. Ibrahimovic tried to create something out of nothing, but it was Santa Cruz who supplied the first goal for Bayern, with the former Bayern striker grabbing his 4th goal since his return in the 36th minute.

610x.jpg

Santa Cruz is swamped by his team-mates following his opening goal against Inter

Santa Cruz almost struck again after the half, but fired against the post. Bayern's next shot was another deflection, but this time it wrong-footed Cesar and found the back of the net from Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez again found himself in the ref's book, but this time it was for a yellow card after the Chilean was suspected to have dived. Santa Cruz responed, with the fellow South American firing in a rocket shot from 15 yards. The Bavarians gave Inter no time to rest, with Sierra Ivan Marcano scoring his first ever goal in Bayern Colours.

img.225444_t.jpg

Things were going from bad to worse as Inter defender Aleksandr Kerzhakov was given an early mark after his sliding tackle went horribly wrong. Their was some relief for Inter though as captain Javier Zanetti grabbed a conselation goal less the a minute from time.

Bayern face Mexicans Cruz Azul in the quarter-finals of the cup and Liverpool in the Shield. Bayern have racked up 13 goals in 3 games of the 2 competitions, conceding 2 goals.

Huntelaar Hopes to Turn Bayern's Season Around

New Bayern Munich recruit Klaas Jan-Huntelaar has vowed to turn Bayerns season around and get th troubled club back up the table. The 25-year old signed a 4 year contract worth 45 thousand pounds with the amount used to aquire the Dutchman's services around 12 million plus Lukas Podolski.

Huntelaar becomes the 6th oldest player at the club, with the former Ajax and Villarreal forward set to become Co-captain along with Chiellini. Although the striker is out for 3 weeks with suspension, he is confident he will make his debut one to remember against Bayern's bitter rivals AS Roma.

Of course I want to make a good impression, im competing with some of the best in the business. Suarez, Agbonlahor, Santa Cruz and Klose are all very good strikers, and with the likes of Acquafresca and Noir rising through the ranks it will be a tough task.

Read is set to continue his Bayern clean-out, which has seen Matteo Rubin, Sergio Floccari, Willy Sagnol and Cristiano Ronaldo all removed from the Bavarian squad. They have been replaced with Huntelaar, Rod Fanni, Jan Vertonghen, Ashley Young, Morten Gamst Pedersen and Edgar Castillo.

More rumours coming out of the Allianz Arena suggest that the Australian is set to make a bid for Montenegran forward Mirko Vucinic, with Roque Santa Cruz rumoured to be heading in the opposit direction.

Sporting Next Hurdle to Climb As New Recruits Shine For Bayern

Bayern Munich's new season recruits Michal Svec and Gabriel Agbonlahor have cemented their place as the future of Bayern Munich, both firing home to grab Bayern a 2-0 win over Cruz Azul to take a spot in the Cup semi-final where they will play Sporting.

The pair, who arrived earlier in the season, have copped their fair share of critism, mainly young Englishmen Agbonlahor. The 22-year old failed to score in his first two outings, but young gaffer Read stuck by and his decision paid off.

Svec grabbed a goal in the 17th, casually rolling the ball past Gutirrez without any hasles from the defence. Agbonlahor gave Bayern a 2-goal advantage, and the win, heading into half-time collecting a terrible fumble to easily poke home 3 from half-time.

The Bavarians have a tougher task, this time facing division 3 side Sporting to hopefully progress to the Final, where the will either face Liverpool or Real Betis.

Done Deal: Vucinic Awaits Arrival in Germany

Reports out of Germany suggest that star Montenegran forward Mirko Vucinic is the newest player to join up with Division 1 side Bayer Munich, with struggling striker Roque Santa Cruz heading in the other direction, including a $3mill sweetner for Manchester United.

Santa Cruz has managed to only score 7 times in his 12 appearences for the Bavarians. Although some managers would be pleased with that, Read is struggling to find a goal-scoring machine and Cruz wasnt one of them.

1214040169.jpg

Vucinic looks ahead at his future, and sees Bayern in it

We are in a troubled time here at Bayern, I am willing to admit that, and when your in trouble you need to fix the problems and bringing in Mirko, as well as Klaas will hopefully fix those problems.

Vucinic will become the 7th striker to arrive at the Allianz Arena this season, including Santa Cruz, along with Felix Kroos, Arnar Smarason, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Alberto Luis Suarez, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Robert Acquafresca and Tomas Necid.

Vucinic will hopefully arrive in time for Bayern's grudge match against Atletico Madrid.

Gonzalo Steals Point for Bayern

24-year old defender Javier Gonzalo Rodriguez grabbed a late equaliser in Bayern's first match facing former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed for $91 million earlier in the season.

Roma were all over the Bavarians, forcing an early corner and allowing Nihat to break away only to fire wide. Vagner Love smashed his shot against the bar and Rene Adler had to be at his best to save a Francesco Totti shot. Ashley Young almost grabbed a shock lead for Bayern but it sailed inches wide.

Half-time came and went and Roma showed no signs of slowing down. Vagner Love again proved a trouble for the defence, just blasting his shot above the bar. The frustration began to show as Gago was cautioned for a reckless challenge in the 56th.

Finally the pressured paid for Roma as Torsten Frings broke away from th Bayern defence to lash home a stunning goal in the 64th minute, much to the delight of the 80,000 people watching on.

Frings quietly celebrates his goal for Roma

All the pressure was on Bayern and somehow they seemed to click after the goal, with Ashley Young curling in a shot that just went wide. Schweinsteiger broke away into the box but lost control of the ball to let Roma off the hook.

Time was running out and Gonzalo Rodriguez knew it, he ran forward from defence, collecting a ball from Gago. He broke away from two men before blasting home a stunner with only 6 minutes to go, grabbing a shock equaliser for Bayern.

Chelsea Game Lifts Bayern to Final

Bayern Munich's 1-0 win over Chelsea has helped the boys believe that they can win, and they showed it firing 2 past a relatively strong Sporting side to advance to the cup final.

The only competition where they have shown any signs of success, their campaign started with a tense win over Sampdoria thanks to a 2-0 penalty shoot-out. They easily rode past Benfica thanks to Fabio and Datolo and they demolished Manchester City 7-0 before embarrassing high-flyers Internazionale 4-0 to progress to the semi's.

There was no stopping the Bavarian giants as young-gun Rob Acquafresca blasted home on the edge of the box in the 61st munute before star midfielder Gago tapped home a defelected shot off the bar to send his side into the final where they will face league-leaders Liverpool.

Bayer have now drifted to 6 points clear of relegation thanks to a debut goal from Klaas-Jan Hunterlaar to give his side a 1-0 win over Chelsea.
