Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season

Hey insider what are your thoughts on Corinthians LB Andre Santos??

I used the search tool and couldn't really find much on him apologies if theirs an independant thread on him :o

But anyhoo I noticed that Roma are rumoured to be interested in him and he has taken up the starting position at LB for Brazil in their recent Confederations cup game against USA' date=' Is this just a one off or his he a serious talent that could be pushing the 90's one day??[/quote']

Yeah, he's mentionned a few times in this thread, but there isn't an individual thread yet. Anyone up to it?

He's a serious talent. Much better then Kleber IMO, probably should be the starter. Corinthians are already grooming two replacements (Saci and Bruno Bertucci) for him, so odds are he'll be gone before long. He's a likely future-90.

Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season

thanks Radebe20 m8:D

do you think 8mill is a good offer then? right now he is expendable and suppose cash would help replace him for higher rated player

I guess it depends what the availability of top players are in your setup. Jean's one of Sao's best, and I wouldn't be surprised if he moves on to bigger and better things. If you can use the cash for better, and have the chance to buy him back if or when better things arise for him, then yes it's worth cashing in.

Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season

That's not me that's São Paulo's Supporters words who called the squad "Timinho sem-Vergonha" (shameless little team).

In fact I can bet on the fact that São Paulo will not qualify for Libertadores this year.

My post may have seemed a little harsh, I apologise.

Simply, I disagree. I wouldn't put money on them winning the league, but qualification, for a team as big as themselves, seems a given. I think Sao supporters are just a little disgruntled at the lack on success in the Copa do Brasil, and the fact that they are looking to exit the CL at the QFs.

I'm sure we can arrange some kind of bet Carlos :P

Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season

Well we'll have to see how they fare against Corinthians this Sunday if São Paulo loses at home again I can see a storm coming.

Besides like it was said everyone knows how São Paulo plays it has gotten old and Boring, Hernanes can't play well and Jorge Wagner's Crosses are too heavily marked, and Marlos is just not as good as those two.

And the Top 5 are going to be:

Internacional, Cruzeiro, Gremio, Corinthians & Palmeiras, Don't ask me their order though. São Paulo may get a Libertadores spot if it finishes in 6th And if Cruzeiro or Grêmio are the Libertadores Champions.(My money is on Cruzeiro) (and the qualified teams would all the way go down to 5th instead of 4th because either Inter or Corinthians are qualifying via Copa do Brasil).

And what should we bet? a custom game world? or A Standard one?

I think Cruzeiro or Estudiantes will be victorious this year in the CL.

Gremio, whilst playing much more attractive football that Sao, will struggle just as much I feel. Palmeiras aren't looking to gel as much as they did early on either, yet I agree with Cruzeiro, Inter, and Corinthians all being up there, they are all looking good.

A GM renewal would be most apt I feel. :)

Deal.

Now let us settle on the terms:

the Bet is:

Will São Paulo FC Qualify for the Libertadores?

I'm betting on No

You are betting on Yes.

Winner gets their Gold Membership renewed by the loser.

Now, will add me as your buddy in game. Search for "Stelin" you'll see the same Southpark version of me as the forum avatar.

Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season

How well are Danny Morais of Internacional and Luis Chico of Atletico Paranaense doing? Are they players I should keep for the long run? I see he scored a goal in one of his 5 games so far...

Chico is a clear first teamer with views to a possible transfer. Danny is the extra-man in the defense, getting a lot of games because of the Copa do Brasil, and probably will get a lot when Copa Sudamericana gets in. Inter are quite busy.

Re: Guide to the 2009 Brazilian season

Insider' date=' what rating do you predict for Neymar? Do you think he will get above 80 next ratings change? Also, the Portuguese press says Sporting CP is interested in signing Ciro. Any rumours in the Brazilian press?[/quote']

Yes, 80 is exactly what I think he will get. Ciro has been heavily linked to Sporting, Pana and Shakhtar for a hile now.
