CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

Recommended Posts

I will start with the leaders and defending champions first. I don't take into account just the number of appearances, goals etc; but also the performances.

(**) indicates a regular who have started/played most games.

(*) indicates a regular who have played most games, but might not have started the games.

If a player doesn't have either, it would indicate he rarely plays and likely to drop.

I think these ratings are pretty true. I think if Pirlo drops, Kaka will also. Also, I think Nesta is looking at 93 more than 94, maybe even 92.

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

What do you mean?
I think these ratings are pretty true. I think if Pirlo drops' date=' Kaka will also. Also, I think Nesta is looking at 93 more than 94, maybe even 92.[/quote']Kaka is unlikely to drop in my opinion, he has had his fair share of good games. Amauri and Zarate who are expecting increases have 12 goals and 11 goals respectively; Kaka has 11, Del Piero 10.

Nesta is a delicate situation to me, a drop by 1 for injury reasons and not the lack of quality sounds fine to me, but again, some players have been injured for long periods and didn't drop until for a long time.

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

IMO Bonera has no chance of dropping.
I doubt he will drop' date=' but he has been injured and not playing for quite some time; that was a precaution addition.
Will Bochetti get as high as 88? Seems a big jump.
Does seem quite high, but he has been selected for 1 international (he didn't feature) ahead of Ferrari rated 90. Also to keep him in line to his other teammates like PAPASTATHOPOULOS, BIAVA and CRISCITO who are pretty much likely to rise to 89.
Overall' date='good thread and prediction and i appreciate it for your work as i know it must be spent your time to do this. Not many forumer here follow Serie A,especially small club like Cagliari,Atalanta or Catania and i hope this thread will become good guide to everyone.

I will support you,

gozgoz[/quote']Thank you very much for the support. I mainly follow Italian football (Serie A and a little of Serie B) and Spanish La Liga.

My ratings are based on what I observed from the previous Italian ratings as well as the recent South American, Dutch, German, French ratings etc. So it is a calculated estimate, but not set in stone.

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

Can you tell me who play's where in the back 4 for Genoa? I am lucky enough to have bought Bocchetti a few months back, but I am interested in signing Biava. He is listed as a CB/RB, but I want him as a CB, will his position change. Also you have Juric as a Defender, and to drop. Has he not played most games, and get a rise of 1 or 2? I would also give Aquafresca a rise of 2, as even though his goal tally ain't too high, he has been man of the match on quite a few occasions. And a rise of 2 for Fini, who has been feeding the ball for Aquafresca. Thank you for the ratings, and good work.

Reps for a very down-to-the-point and helpful thread, as Serie A is my favorite league. Two questions:

1. Do you see Criscito as a future member of the NT?

2. You're probably about to write down your predictions for Napoli but I'm anxious to know about Santacroce. I've read different opinions on his short and mid-term value. Any scoop ?

Thanks

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

great work!

its helped me with a few players that i am uncertain with, but i do have a couple of questions.

On other italian ratings threads or other comments about him, there's been a mixed view on Nicholas Burdisso. Just wondering if someone can clear this up.

The other thing was that ive heard that after a great season for him , Alberto Gilardino was in for a definite rise:confused: is he??

anyway, great thread and thanks in advance

Biava, Ferrari and Bocchetti with Mesto and Criscito as wingers/wing-backs.

Did I list Juric as a defender? It's a mistake, he is a midfielder. I must have mistook him for another player (I think Papastaphopoulos). I will go back and edit soon.

As for Acquafresca and Fini, I think SM don't normally increase a rating of +2 for mid-table team.

Nice work' date=' must've taken you a long time. However you have lots of rating prediction that I wouldn't agree with and probabyl most other forumer wouldn't agree with.[/quote']Thank you, I think I made some mistakes with the ratings. I will check again later and edit if necessary.

Thanks[/quote']I do see Criscito as the future left-back or left wing-back for the Azzurri. I remember him a few years ago as a center-back in Serie B with Genoa. He was easily the best defender in Serie B that season and was subsequently recalled back to Juventus (when they got promoted). However, he didn't fare too well with them and is now back with Genoa. He was initially used by Casiraghi as a left-back for the Azzurrini and I think he has excelled there for them. Now Genoa also uses him in that full-back/wing-back position. I have no idea why Ranieri prefers Molinaro instead of Criscito. Molinaro is physically better, faster and stronger; but Criscito has the better technique, reading of the game and quality.

On the short term, Santacroce will probably get as high as 90 only, unless Napoli takes a big jump overall in their quality or he joins a bigger club. Pato recently mentioned that he thinks Santacroce is the best defender he has encountered in Serie A, so the quality is there. I feel he is in a strange position, considered too good for the Azzurrini but not ready enough for the Azzurri.

Napoli also uses the back 3 defence with Santacroce as the right of the 3-men defence. It seems that he hasn't quite figured out how to play as a right-back/center-back in a 4-men defence that Lippi prefers.

great work!

anyway, great thread and thanks in advance[/quote']Burdisso is one of the most loved Inter defenders along with Rivas. The 2 of them are comedies and make the most simple elementary mistakes. To be honest, he is probably a starting defender fit for mid-table clubs.

Gilardino is a strange case, he has been poor throughout his career since he left Parma. He might seem to have done better now with Fiorentina, but based on quality, he is probably playing above of what he normally is. I expect him to go back (downhill) to his usual quality in his second season with La Viola.

Never been impressed with him for the Azzurri or Rossoneri, where he has missed the simplest of chances that an amateur will convert. There was this certain game I remembered. It was an open goal, the ball was dropping nicely for him, he went to head the ball towards the goal (less than a yard away), he totally missed the header but the ball hit him on his hip and went in. The thing was that he was not under and pressure from the goalkeeper or defenders as they were left stranded.

He might rise this time, but he is not a player to keep at all.

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

I Can't See Mexes & DeRossi Getting Increased, Roma Are Currently 6th with a weak Goals For/Against Ratio.

They Wont Get Even 5th Place & Might Even Drop Afew Unless They Pick Up Form.

Molinaro of Juve, I Originally had him down for a +2 Rise but after the Engish changes realise he wont have any chance of getting that, But he will get 90.

Kaka & Pirlo Will Drop I feel, Also you have Gattuso not to fall, he'l definatly drop at least by1. You have maldini to drop by 1 cant see that happening at all,
