Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

RE: MONTOLIVO

Can someone please give me an assessment of Montolivo this season? Where he's been good and where he hasn't...

Also, regarding his rating.... (1) Is he set for a rise in the coming changes? (2) Is his rating topped out @ 91 or do you expect more from him over the next year?

Thanks.

i dont know much about how the ratings system work, but i do know he wont be getting a 92, no way

montolivo still havent made that step up onto "the next level" which everyone has been expecting for the past 2 years now, given his obvious technical ability. he s having a fairly average season so far with fiorentina. As for his azzurri career, many thought it has already ended(or under lippi's reign anyway) the guy dissappears everytime he plays for the national side, never showing his passing ability and vision or the things we ve seen him do in the league. he disappears perhaps the same way that carrick disappears for england. all he does in the azzurri shirt is short passes, it's like he is overwhelmed by the fear of making mistakes.

after the confeds in which he put in a no-show against brazil, people all thought he would never play for lippi again. But he did get a callup for the recent friendly against sweden as replacement for de rossi. started against sweden, fairly average. But at this rate, he wont even be in the WC squad, unless there is a injury crisis. He is too passive, and lippi likes grafters. in the long term, he is probably the best replacement for pirlo in the deep playmaker role. But cant see him doing anything special in the next year or so. 92? no way. unless fiorentina wins the CL or something lol

btw Johnny, i read your new thread. excellent once again. But i have to ask, are you trying to turn this football forum into a business/economics forum??

That's the type of response I was hoping for. Great answer. Thanks, Liucci ! You're the man.

Just trying to add something a little different. (most on here aren't going to care about that sort of stuff, but just mixing it up a bit... )

Thanks again...

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

Sorry to keep pestering you......

Most of the forwards were already taken' date=' are there any midfielders you'd recommend? I can always revert to 1 striker instead i suppose![/quote']

Galloppa 87-->88

Candreva 83-->85/86

Hamsik 90--> I'd say he can reach 91 this time around

Keep away from Brighi, Thiago (Juve), Poulsen, Gattuso

Does D'Agostino have a realistic shot at that deep playmaker role for the Azzurri? After his good last season I thought at the time that he was the much MUCH cheaper (and better) answer to Liverpool's problems (rather than Aquilani), but I'm not sure now. I haven't watched a lot of Udinese so far this year.

And speaking of D'Agostino, is he going to 90 during these changes ?

D’agostino has been around a lot longer than guys like montolivo or aquilani. In terms of playing style he is the next most similar player to pirlo. In terms of pedigree, probably not.

he is more defensive minded and tactically savy thans than guys like montolivo and aquilani, both of whom are probably more creative and direct in the final third, but lack the defensive qualities to play that anchor role properly. And unlike montolivo and aquilani, he is also a set-piece specialist. Although this does inflate his stats. A lot of his goals are from penalties. And a lot of his assists are from free kicks and corners. I think he has been long overdue his 90, although on league form you never know. Udinese don’t look like pulling up any trees anytime soon. He has been called up fairly regularly recently. He came on as sub in a few qualifiers. watching him play, it is clear that he is very gifted player with great vision. but to be frank, i dont think he is sharp enough to display his ability on the very highest stage. and given the wealth of talent we have in midfield, i think once pirlo retires, there will probably be a reshuffle, and de rossi might get put in the pirlo role, with a new face like aquilani or even candreva coming in to make up the final spot(the other midfielder we assume at this stage, will be marchisio). This assuming the new coach will play exactly the same way as Lippi of course. but it all depends on form and what he does with his club career...so maybe im biting off more than i can chew here with some of my predictions..

Whether LFC could have bought him instead of aquilani…..he would be cheaper because of his age, and he is a better direct replacement for Alonso than aquilani(because he actually plays in alonso’s position). But aquilani has advantage in terms of pedigree. Or at least, the guy has shown that he can play well in big CL games at a young age, where as d’agostino has fairly limited experience at the highest levels of football(and with all due respect to him, there is probably a good reason for that).

Although having said that, aquilani has been disappointing in most of his games for la Nazionale. But with aquilani, it’s all about potential. Whereas with d’agostino, he won’t improve much more on what he has now. So you can argue that LFC paid more money for a possibly more talented player.

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

will DI NATALE rise' date=' stay or drop

i have been offerd 18 million for him should accept it

thanks for help B);)[/quote']

He will stay. Scout if there are any younger Forwards who are available to transfer and which you could get, but if you have to sell Di Natale you should ask for more; if their chairman allows, around 25 million would be a good deal.

Re: CalcioItalia's Italian Ratings

Marco Andreolli and Marco Rossi.

How good are these two defenders? Are they likley to force themselves nito their respective teams? I believe Rossi is notching up quite a few minutes on the field, unlike Andreolli, but is it based on merit or injury? Are these guys strong players likely to increase their ratings towards 88/89?

Bonucci and Ranocchia same question really. I know they're key for their club, but are they a long term prospect too? How good can they be? (within reason of being able to predict anything of course..)

Also any help on the short-medium term prospects for Asamoah, Poli and Candreva. I see Candreva has been called up by the NT, so was keen to understand what ability these guys have got and where it might take them.
