Emmanuel Mbola

Emmanuel Mbola is a left back, currently playing for Armenian league champions FC Pyunik.

Mbola hails from the African country of Zambia, whose youth career also started at Zambian team Mining Rangers. Mbola is a full Zambian international, making his debut last year as a 15 year old. The Zambian international has made a total of 8 Zambian caps, as early as late last year. The young teenager has also made appearances in Zambia's quest for the South Africa World Cup 2010.

Mbola has impressed many people after turning a man-of-the-match display in a 1-0 match against Rwanda (6th June 2009). Mbola's cross setup the goal, which is another masterclass of the attacking left-back, whose talent sends players into circles when on the ball. Other skills include dribbling and attacking runs, where the 16 year old prodigy showed many people after his near full pitch dribble ended up being fouled in the opponents area, only for the Zambian penalty taker (not him) to miss the hardly earned spotkick.

From 2009, the teenager who is the youngest ever player to represent his national country, the defender played regularly for his old Zambian club, Mining Rangers. The 8-cap international then moved over to Armenian League Champions (top division) FC Pyunik, where he has broke into the first team and plays regular football. He chose regular football in Armenia rather than the reserve leagues of Russia, after impressing Russian giants CSKA and Spartak Moscow youth coaches.

As of the last fixture, Mbola has made 9 apperances for the current leaders, making 8 start and one sub appearance. He has already won the Armenians version of the FA Cup, making appearances in the 2 legged semi-final and the final, beating FC Banants 1-0 in the final. Mbola is rated 75 on the database, available for around £800k Many Zambians have touted him to be a star in next years World Cup if Zambia manage to qualify and to also be in one of the top 3 leagues in the world by the next couple of years!

A definite star for the future, keep an eye out for him if Zambia reach the World Cup!

From 2009, the teenager who is the youngest ever player to represent his national country, the defender played regularly for his old Zambian club, Mining Rangers. The 6-cap international then moved over to FC Inter Turku of Finland, but according to reports, cannot play due to being an under 18 foreigner, so he is now on loan to Armenian League Champions (top division) FC Pyunik, where he has broke into the first team and plays regular football.

As of the last fixture, Mbola has made 9 apperances for the current leaders, making 8 start and one sub appearance. He has already won the Armenians version of the FA Cup, making appearances in the 2 legged semi-final and the final, beatings FC Banants 1-0. Unlike all my other scouts, Mbola isn't on the DB unfortunately, but I have sent a ticket asking for him to be added to the database due to his international caps so that should be enough! Many Zambians have touted him to be a star in next years World Cup if Zambia manage to qualify and to also be in one of the top 3 leagues in the world by the next couple of years!

A definite star for the future, lets just hope he can be added!

Re: Emmanuel Mbola

Well..

Mbola has been added! :D

Only kept it from yesterday so I could actually buy him for a few teams!

But yes he has been added to the DB, under new club FC Pyunik (added just for Mbola :P) under the position of LB/LM and is a rating of 75.

Pretty cheap for around £800k, buy now! :P

Re: Emmanuel Mbola

No doubt he is a big talent. Just that he is relying on International appearances to get a rise. He is the only one from his team who is on the DB. But we don't know what the future holds. If he moves to a bigger club then he could be looking for a big rise.

According to some local Zambian websites' date=' some bigger clubs have already enquired about the services of Mbola, who apparently has a clause in his contract to go if the right compensation is awarded to the club.

And I wouldn't fret about international appearances, he is most definitely going to start against Algeria the weekend, but was a doubt due to being injured with an ankle injury in a warm up during their 9-0 win against Kaiser Chief reserves. But he was being rested for about 10 minutes and come straight back on! the Zambian manager expected him to be on light training Monday which he has, but has now moved on to full training again and he is expected to start. :)

Zambianfootball.net understands and can reveal that Armenian glamour side FC Pyunik Yeraven has received inquiries about a possible transfer of their Zambian International left back Emmanuel Mbola from a host of clubs in more lucrative leagues.

According to reports reaching the Zamfoot Crew from Yerevan, one of the clubs will be participating in the Europa League (Uefa Cup) and is from a country which has one club in last season’s Uefa Cup semi finals.

Re: Emmanuel Mbola

More of Mbola to come! :D

He played the full 90 minutes on saturday, mentioned to be pretty good and from what I saw, he done good but not as good from his performance against Rwanda a few weeks ago, but not far off which was still a very good performance.

He has now being called up to Zambia's U20 squad to travel to the Cosafa

Championship and SADC Games regional qualifiers, African youth tournaments, but pretty important is most likely to start, and is due to travel with them in a couple of days, to play in a couple of qualifying games, so he is being pretty important to the International teams atm, so he isn't catching up with FC Pyunik who are 2nd but are 2 points behind 1st with a game in hand, so he is guaranteed to be match fit when he comes back and then play again :)

Fans describes his performance against Algeria a very versatile game, he made sure attacks down his flank never materialised, and got forward just as well but his crosses weren't really the best (can't blame it against the likes of Bougherra) and displayed a never-say-die attitude. The commentator on myafricanfootball (videos of games and major African football site) practically drooled over the lad cos he's just turned 16!

A major prodigy in football, just another update on him! ;)

Re: Emmanuel Mbola

Just a very good update on Mbola :)

He has now made 10 regular recent appearances for FC Pyunik, but didn't make the game last weekend due to getting 3 yellow cards which means an automatic 1 match suspension, so he is able to return to Pyunik's aid next match!

Mbola has recently been to and fro on plane flights :D, which shows he is dedicated to both club and country. The deal for him getting called up to Zambia's last two games were that he returns to the land of Armenia, to help them in a league match which he did, then after the 2-0 defeat to Algeria, he wasn't allowed to return home cos Zambia needed him and nicked off with his passport, well by nicked meaning took it and not returning it (can't really understand the translation) and Mbola was stuck in the airport for 2 days. when he eventually got new tickets, he went on an 8 hour flight, then returning to Pyunik, explaining to the head coach of Vardan Minasyan what happened, and went training straight away in the evening!

He wants to stay with FC Pyunik for the time being, to be helpful and useful to them and feels happy with them!

and for the other great news:

Mbola will be playing in the Champions League 2nd Round Qualifiers at 4pm GMT against Dinamo Zagreb. According to what I've read, he is starting the match at LM, might be at LB, I have no idea, but from what I can gather and see, he is breaking the 15 year old record set by Celestine Babayaro, the youngest player to play in the Champions League (qualifiers including?) at 16 years old and 59 days, whereas the current record was 16 years and 87 days.

Streams to watch the match are available here.

So... a 16 year old playing for 1st division League Champions, a full international defender who is now playing regularly for Zambia, and now a Champions League player! :D

BUY! :D

Edit: thanks Ben for giving me stats :)

Re: Emmanuel Mbola

hard to tell at the moment, need a bit to tell after more appearances and possibly a new club might affect him :)

and just watched the first half of Pyuniks match v Dinamo Zagreb, still 0-0, Mbola has been VERY active to say the least, currently playing at LB, but sometimes swapping with the LM, his pace shown today is fantastic, and his passes both long range and short have been very good, made a few good tackles, and also a few bad ones.

Re: Emmanuel Mbola

Full time ended in a surprise draw with Dinamo Zagreb, finishing 0-0.

This was the 3rd time I've watched Mbola (once before posting to see if he really was good) and this was the best performance I have seen, if not better than the Rwanda match last month, also had Nath watching it for 10 mins (:D) before it crashed for him so I think he could easily agree that Mbola had a good game from what we've both seen (watched 84 mins before it crashed)

He played very well and it's hard to tell he is 16 with his knowledge and skill, Dinamo's RM finding it hard to outpace Mbola on several occasions and his passing was accurate tonight. On one occasion in the second half, he was expected to do a backpass to the keeper, but instead skilled the player behind him and ran half of the pitch with the ball in a very good pass and move following up. As well as going forwards, he always maintained the defensive cover and done well to deny several shots and attacks being formed (one example was man marking Manzukic (sp?) and made him hit over the bar). He done well in clearing the ball and defensive headers when it was least expected was good!

Now for the few negatives:

Mbola is very good with attacking runs, but the end product such as crosses were not very accurate today, only one successful cross which hit the bar. He misread quite a few attacks, also got tackled by his own player by accident because he failed to make the judgement. His tackling was rather poor but all of these can be fixed with experience, which he boasts quite alot with his age, but in the future, these problems will be reduced by quite a bit.

Verdict in the end: only 16, kept a few players quiet, had a few dogdy moments but with more age comes more experience, tackling might be a problem but he uses his pace to put off players. Had a very good game.

Return leg is a week today :)
