Full look at Brazil: Part 1

Recommended Posts

First 10 teams I chose to analyse from Brazil. Feel free to ask questions. The other 10 are coming sometime in the next two weeks.

CR = Continued Riser

BARUERI

Elite 11:

Rene

Eder-Leandro Castan-Andre Luis-Daniel Marques-Marcio Careca

Ralf

Ewerton

Fernandinho-Pedrao-Thiago Humberto

Goalkeeping:

Rene has this spot. He has played every game of every competition, and has played quite well. Deserves a rise from 78 to about 81 for now.

31 - Rene: 78 - +4 - 82 (6 starts) CR

Centre Backs:

A few new signings have made a dent into the lineup. Young Xandao is a TRAFFIC product who is starting to make a name for himself and Andre Luis is rated 86, ex-International. Leandro Castan and Daniel Marques are both regulars as well.

29 - Andre Luis: 86 - -2 - 84 (3 starts, 1 goal)

25 - Daniel Marques: 82 - / - 82 (4 starts, 1 goal)

23 - Joao Leonardo: 79 - / - 79 (2 starts)

22 - Leandro Castan: 78 - +3 - 81 (6 starts)

21 - Xandao: -- New -- 73 (2 starts, 1 sub)

Wingbacks:

The main fight here is at the right back position, where Eder and Pimentel are fighting it out. Marcio is a lock on the left.

30 - Marcio Careca: 82 - / - 82 (6 starts)

25 - Marcos Pimentel: -- New -- 74 (3 starts, 1 sub, 1 goal)

23 - Eder: 77 - +2 - 79 (3 starts, 2 subs)

Defensive Midfielders:

When Barueri decide to go with one defensive mid, it has been Ralf and will continue to be. Leanderson got some quality time in the Paulista, but isn't used much lately. Joao Vitor is one to watch, impressed with Marilia, is a new arrival on loan.

31 - Marcio Hahn: 79 - -2 - 77 (1 sub)

26 - Franciscatti: -- New -- 71 (1 sub)

26 - Leanderson: 77 - +2 - 79 (3 starts)

24 - Ralf: -- New -- 82 (6 starts)

21 - Joao Vitor: -- New -- 73 (3 subs)

Attacking Midfielders:

Again, only one AM is usually used, and this is Ewerton. He gets a lot of support from the attacking wingbacks, and has been doing a great job so far supporting the 3 striker system.

30 - Esley: -- New -- 72 (1 sub)

25 - Flavinho: -- New -- 74 (2 subs)

24 - Ewerton: -- New -- 82 (6 starts, 2 goals)

23 - Camilo: 80 - -2 - 78 (2 subs)

Attackers:

Pedrao is the man leading the charge, with Thiago Humberto and Fernandinho supporting. Again, Barueri are fairly straightforward, always using the same lineup. Pedrao was also one of the top scorers in the Paulista, he could finish the season around 86 if he keeps the pace.

31 - Pedrao: 82 - +1 - 83 (6 starts, 4 goals)

28 - Val Baiano: -- New -- 74 (3 subs)

23 - Thiago Humberto: -- New -- 81 (6 starts)

23 - Fernandinho: -- New -- 80 (6 starts)

AVAI

Elite 11:

Eduardo Martini

Uendel-Turatto-Emerson-Ferdinando

Marcus Vinicius-Leo Gago

Marquinhos-Muriqui

Evando-William

Keepers:

Eduarado Martini has been the only keeper used so far. Depending on what he is added at, he might be a riser.

30 - Eduardo Martini: -- New -- 81 (6 starts)

Centre Backs:

Despite a few sending offs, the pairing has been Turatto and Emerson, throughout. They haven't lit the league alight, but have held their own.

32 - Turatto: -- New -- 81 (6 starts)

25 - Emerson: -- New -- 81 (5 starts, 2 RC)

22 - Anderson Luis: -- New -- 73 (1 start, 1 sub)

Wingbacks:

After a slight rise last year at Fluminense, Uendel Pereira is back, this time as a starter. He'll hit 80 this time around, should rise more later. Medina is a promising youngster, keep an eye on him.

28 - Ferdinando: -- New -- 80 (5 starts)

20 - Uendel: 75 - +5 - 80 (5 starts) CR

18 - Medina: -- New -- 72 (1 sub)

Defensive Midfielders:

Marcus Vinicius was a great signing from Istanbul. He holds Avai together.

28 - Pingo: 82 - -3 - 79 (1 start)

25 - Leo Gago: -- New -- 79 (4 starts)

24 - Wendell: -- New -- 72 (1 start)

23 - Marcus Vinicius: 84 - / - 84 (6 starts)

22 - Bruno: -- New -- 74 (1 start, 2 subs)

Attacking Midfielders:

Muriqui has been the lead man for Avai's attack. He will be a big riser this season. He roams in and out of games, but is still a main creative force.

33 - Ricardinho: 82 - -2 - 80 (2 subs, 1 goal)

28 - Caio: 80 - / - 80 (3 starts, 1 sub)

27 - Marquinhos: 80 - / - 80 (3 starts, 1 goal)

27 - Odair: -- New -- 74 ( 1 start, 1 sub)

22 - Muriqui: 74 - +7 - 81 (6 starts, 2 goals) CR

Attackers:

Evando, Lima and William have been disappointing this season. Muriqui is leading the scoring, it is no coincidence. All the strikers have been wasteful, they need to get their act together.

31 - Evando: -- New -- 80 (5 starts, 1 goal)

25 - Lima: 81 - -1 - 80 (1 start, 4 subs, 1 goal)

25 - William: 80 - / - 80 (3 starts, 1 sub)

25 - Luiz Ricardo: -- New -- 76 (2 starts, 3 subs)

21 - Rafael Costa: -- New -- 71 ( 1 sub)

BOTAFOGO

Elite 11:

--------------Renan-------------------

------Juninho-Emerson-Eduardo---------

------Leandro Guerreiro-Fahel---------

Alessandro--------------------Thiaguinho

------------Lucio Flavio--------------

-------V. Simoes-----Tony-------------

Keepers:

This position is actually still up for grabs. Castillo has been busy on duty for Uruguay, and I think Renan still has the upper hand. Renan has a lot of potentail, and a lot of Athleticism. Still a bit raw, though, a young Kameni.

31 - Castillo: 86 - -1 - 85 (2 starts)

20 - Renan: 84 - +1 - 85 (4 starts)

Centre Backs:

The young Wellington got quite a bit of action in the Carioca, but Eduardo has taken his spot here. It's nice to see Juninho bounce back, he was 87 two seasons ago before a flawed transfer to Sao Paulo. He is back to full form.

27 - Emerson: 85 - +1 - 86 (3 starts)

26 - Teco: 80 - -2 - 78 (1 start)

26 - Juninho: 85 - +1 - 86 (5 starts)

21 - Wellington: 72 - +3 - 75 (1 start, 1 sub)

Wingbacks:

Eduardo is mainly a left wingback, but he can play DM or CB as well and has been one of Botafogo's best. He provides lots of great runs, a lot like Thiaguinho. Gabriel is quite highly rated as well, but I havn't seen him yet.

31 - Alessandro: 85 - +1 - 86 (5 starts)

24 - Thiaguinho: 85 - +1 - 86 (3 starts, 2 subs)

20 - Gabriel: -- New -- 73 (1 start, 2 subs)

20 - Eduardo: 77 - +5 - 82 (6 starts) CR

Defensive Midfielders:

Fahel has been absolutly stellar in the Carioca and Brasileiro. He usually ventures forward while Leandro Guerreiro stays back as an extra defender.

29 - Leandro Guerreiro: 87 - / - 87 (6 starts)

29 - Batista: 82 - -1 - 81 (1 start, 1 goal)

27 - Fahel: 84 - +2 - 86 (6 starts, 1 goal)

26 - Tulio Souza: 80 - +3 - 83 (4 starts)

23 - Leo Silva: 80 - +1 - 81 (1 start, 3 subs)

Attacking Midfielders:

Rodrigo Dantas' stats may look impressive, but he hasn't played since Lucio Flavio's arrival. Still a top prospect though. It seems as if Lucio Flavio is back in form after a bad spell at Santos.

30 - Lucio Flavio: 88 - -1 - 87 (3 starts)

24 - Lucas Silva: 80 - / - 80 (1 start)

23 - Renato: 86 - -2 - 84 (1 sub)

19 - Rodrigo Dantas: -- New -- 74 (2 starts, 1 sub)

Attackers:

Victor Simoes is always the main threat here. Posesses a great shot, just going through a dry spell at the moment. Expect him to finish with about 8-10 goals. Tony hasn't impressed me much, I like Jean and Laio much more. Jean is creative, will try anything to get it on goal. Laio is more of a wide striker, he'll cross it in, using flair and speed. Exepct to see him subbing on a lot this year, and eventually making it big. An injured Reinaldo is expected to make an impact when he comes back.

28 - Victor Simoes: 81 - +3 - 84 (6 starts, 1 goal)

25 - Diego: 80 - -2 - 78 (1 sub)

23 - Tony: -- New -- 77 (3 starts, 2 subs, 1 goal)

21 - Jean Coral: 75 - +2 - 77 (1 start, 2 subs)

20 - Laio: -- New -- 74 (1 start, 2 subs, 1 goal)

19 - Junior: -- New -- 70 (1 sub)

SANTOS

Elite 11:

------------------Fabio Costa-----------------------

Triguinho-------Fabao-----Fabiano Eller---------Leo

-------------Roberto Brum--Rodrigo Souto------------

Molina--------Paulo Henrique-----------------Madson

----------------Kleber Pereira----------------------

Goalkeepers:

Fabio Costa (ex-90) is the man in goal this season. Has a tendency to allow a weak goal, but has still done a good job. Wayyy too exitable though.

31 - Fabio Costa: 88 - / - 88 (5 starts)

26 - Douglas: 83 - / - 83 (1 start)

Centre Backs:

Domingos has fallen out of favour. He's pretty much just a hired goon now. Fabao has been playing very well, taking some free kicks as well with that powerful foot of his.

33 - Fabao: 86 - +1 - 87 (6 starts, 1 goal)

31 - Fabiano Eller: 88 - / - 88 (5 starts)

26 - Paulo Henrique Rodrigues - 83 - -2 - 81 (1 sub)

23 - Domingos: 87 - -2 - 85 (1 start)

Wingbacks:

Leo is going down based on performance. Hasn't convinced me at all, I liked Triguinho a lot better before he got hurt down the left. Down the right, we have two risers. Luizinho and Para play different styles, Luizinho likes to attack more. In the match Luizinho missed, we clearly saw stale attacking against Botafogo. Both will be interesting this season.

33 - Leo: 88 - -1 - 87 (4 starts, 1 sub)

29 - Triguinho: 84 - / - 84 (1 start)

26 - Luizinho: 80 - +3 - 83 (5 starts) CR

23 - Para: 76 - +4 - 80 (2 starts, 4 subs) CR

Defensive Midfielders:

Both Brum and Souto have been very solid, but I think I like Germano just as much. He was unfortunate to get injured, as he usually came on to solidify the defending at the end of the games. Can't go wrong with any of these 3.

30 - Roberto Brum: 85 - +2 - 87 (6 starts)

28 - Germano: 80 - +2 - 82 (1 start, 2 subs)

25 - Rodrigo Souto: 88 - / - 88 (5 starts, 2 goals)

Attacking Midfielders:

Madson has been the best player for Santos so far. Small, quick and tough, he really should be rated 87. 86 is more likely though, as I'm not fully confident in SM. If he keeps going, expect 88 by the end of the season. Molina has been solid, usually subbing out for Neymar, but the big surprise has been Paulo Henrique, who has started every game. Looked shaky early on, but now seems comfortable in that role. He's a starter, undisputed.

29 - Molina: 87 - / - 87 (4 starts, 1 sub, 2 goals)

23 - Madson: 84 - +2 - 86 (6 starts, 3 goals) CR

21 - Robson: 76 - +1 - 77 (1 sub)

19 - Paulo Henrique Lima: 71 - +10 - 81 (6 starts, 2 goals) CR

Attackers:

Neymar is the most interesting one here. Always sparks something, usually leads to great attacking play. His performances have been great, he's a future superstar. Kleber Pereira has been good, he works really well alone, with Madson, PH and Molina attacking from the midfield. He has a slight chance at 90.

33 - Kleber Pereira: 89 - / - 89 (6 starts, 4 goals)

32 - Roni: 87 - -2 - 85 (2 subs)

20 - Maikon Leite: 82 - -1 - 81 (2 subs)

18 - Andre: -- New -- 70 (1 sub)

17 - Neymar: 76 - +4 - 80 (2 starts, 4 subs) CR

ATLETICO MINEIRO

Elite 11:

------------------Aranha-------------------

-------Welton Felipe---Leandro Almeida-----

Thiago Feltri-----Carlos Alberto-----Junior

--Renan-------Marcio Araujo----Jonilson----

--------Eder Luis-------Diego Tardelli-----

Keepers:

It might seem like a competition, but it is not. Since signing from Ponte Preta, where he has impressed me when I've seen him, Aranha has been brilliant, quite possibly the best keeper in Brazil. He has played 3 full matches, allowing 0 goals, while Juninho allowed 5 in 3 matches. Expect Aranha to carry the load.

28 - Aranha: 78 - +5 - 83 (3 starts) CR

27 - Juninho: 84 - / - 84 (3 starts)

Centre Backs:

Welton Felipe and Leandro Almeida have been two very solid centre backs this season. When I've watched, they've shown solid tackling and excellent movement for such tall players. Werley is a backup when needed, but still a very good buy, as Leandro Almeida has been heavily linked with bigger clubs.

23 - Welton Felipe: 80 - +4 - 84 (6 starts)

22 - Leandro Almeida: 86 - / - 86 (4 starts)

20 - Werley: 75 - +4 - 79 (3 starts)

Wingbacks:

Junior looked awful when I was watching him, but has got raving reviews lately. Would be a great buy for a smaller team. Atlético are desperatly waiting the return of Sheslon from his long-term injury.

36 - Junior: 84 - +2 - 86 (6 starts, 2 goals)

24 - Thiago Feltri: 85 - +1 - 86 (5 starts, 1 sub, 1 goal)

20 - Marcos Rocha: -- New -- 73 (2 subs)

Defensive Midfielders:

Marcio Araujo has been the best of the bunch, carrying the slack from the absence of anything creative in the midfield. The others stay back, allowing Junior and Thiago Feltri to attack. The system has worked so far, though, and they deserve to rise a bit.

31 - Carlos Alberto: 85 - +1 - 86 (5 starts, 1 sub, 1 goal)

30 - Jonilson: 84 - +1 - 85 (5 starts)

25 - Marcio Araujo: 84 - +2 - 86 (6 starts, 2 goals)

24 - Renan: 85 - +1 - 86 (6 starts)

Attacking Midfielders:

Evandro has disappointed since arriving from Palmeiras, and Tchô has never lived up to the hype. Chiquinho and Renan Oliveira are both injured, their return will be welcome.

22 - Tchô: 82 - -2 - 80 (3 subs)

22 - Evandro: 84 - -2 - 82 (2 subs)

Attackers:

Eder Luis and Diego Tardelli form one of the best domestic pairings in Brazil. They were exellent in the Mineiro and superb so far, they both deserve at least a +1 to 87 for now. Kleber is a massive talent, watch out for him when he's added. Just turned 19. Julio Cesar has failed to make an impact, be it at Paranaense or here.

29 - Julio Cesar: 82 - / - 82 (2 subs, 1 sub for APR)

27 - Alessandro: 85 - -1 - 84 (5 subs, 1 goal)

24 - Eder Luis: 86 - +1 - 87 (6 starts, 4 goals)

24 - Diego Tardelli: 86 - +1 - 87 (6 starts, 3 goals)

19 - Kleber: -- New -- 71 (1 sub)

NAUTICO

Elite 11:

-------------------Eduardo---------------------

--------Asprilla-----Vagner----Gladstone-------

Eduardo Ere--------------------Anderson Santana

---------------Derley----Johnny----------------

--------Carlinhos Bala------Gilmar-------------

Goalkeepers:

Eduardo has been the man throughout the Pernambucano, Copa and for Nautico. This season AND last season. He's due for a nice increase.

31 - Eduardo: 81 - +3 - 84 (6 starts)

Centre Backs:

Nautico use three centre backs, Asprilla, Vagner and Gladstone. All are decent, but not spectacular. They are not work keeping as long term investments.

28 - Asprilla: 85 - / - 85 (5 starts, 1 goal)

26 - Vagner: 84 - +1 - 85 (6 starts)

24 - Gladstone: 85 - / - 85 (5 starts, 1 goal)

24 - Galiardo: -- New -- 73 (1 start, 1 sub)

23 - Negretti: 82 - / - 82 (1 start, 2 subs)

19 - Luiz Alberto: -- New -- 72 (1 sub)

Wingbacks:

Anderson Santana has taken his spot back since being injured for 5 months with a broken collarbone. Eduardo Ere starts as a right-DM, pretty much right back, as Sidny has been inadequate for both Recife clubs this season. Wellington was only starting in lieu of A.S.

27 - Sidny: 86 - -1 - 85 (2 starts)

23 - Anderson Santana: 75 - +4 - 79 (3 starts) CR

19 - Wellington: -- New -- 75 (2 starts, 1 sub)

Defensive Midfielders:

Eduardo Ere should've gotten a huge rise last season, he'll get a smaller one now. Derley and Johnny work well together, the former attacking well and the latter defending. Derley has developped a flair for the reds though, accumulating 2 in 5 games.

24 - Junior Carioca: 77 - +1 - 78 (2 starts, 1 sub)

23 - Johnny: 76 - +5 - 81 (6 starts) CR

22 - Derley: 80 - +3 - 83 (5 starts, 1 goal)

21 - Eduardo Ere: 75 - +4 - 79 (3 starts)

Attacking Midfielders:

Nautico don't really use attacking mids, other then Dinda, who is (with Lessa) the top substitute. Dinda is a real promise who will be brought up at Nautico, fast and has a ton of flair.

28 - Juliano: -- New -- 72 (1 sub)

24 - Ailton: -- New -- 74 (2 starts)

20 - Dinda: 75 - +3 - 78 (2 starts, 4 subs) CR

Attackers:

Gilmar and Carlinhos Bala have been the starting pair, with Lessa usually making a spark with serious second half minutes. Bala is very much in the same style as Lessa, runners who put effort into everything. Gilmar is more of a finisher. They work quite well together, especially when Dinda is on.

37 - Kuki: 82 - / - 82 (1 start, 1 sub)

29 - Carlinhos Bala: 86 - / - 86 (6 starts, 2 goals)

28 - Adriano Magrao: 85 - -2 - 83 (1 sub)

25 - Gilmar: 80 - +3 - 83 (6 starts, 2 goals)

19 - Anderson Lessa: 72 - +7 - 79 (1 start, 4 subs, 2 goals) CR

CORITIBA

Elite 11:

------------------Vanderlei---------------------

-------------Felipe-----Pereira-----------------

Marcio Gabriel----Rodrigo Mancha---------Vicente

-Pedro Ken--Marcelinho Paraiba-Carlinhos Paraiba

-------------Ariel----Marcos Aurelio------------

Keepers:

Despite the poor performances of Coritiba, Vanderlei has been solid throughout 2009. He's one of the first keepers I'd rush to buy from Brazil.

29 - Edson Bastos: 82 - -1 - 81 (1 start)

25 - Vanderlei: 83 - +2 - 85 (5 starts)

Centre-Backs:

Cleiton is back from injury, expect him to get quite a few more starts. He had 18 starts in the Pernambucano, more then Felipe and Pereira. He's one for the small teams, long term. Felipe should retain his spot, not 100% sure about Pereira. Demerson was more of an emergency replacement.

29 - Pereira: 86 - / - 86 (5 starts)

27 - Cleiton: 76 - +2 - 78 (2 starts) CR

23 - Demerson: -- New -- 72 (1 start)

22 - Felipe: 82 - +2 - 84 (6 starts)

Wingbacks:

These two spots are completly up for grabs. Vicente and Marcio Gabriel seemed to have the spots nailed down, but Guaru and, especially Rodrigo Heffner, were spectacular in the 5-0 drubbing of Flamengo. Anything is possible now, so every one of them could be a star buy.

27 - Guaru: 78 - / - 78 (1 start, 1 sub)

26 - Vicente: 80 - +1 - 81 (3 starts)

26 - Marcio Gabriel: 82 - +1 - 83 (4 starts)

26 - Rodrigo Heffner: 80 - +1 - 81 (2 starts)

Defensive Midfielders:

This is, seemingly, where everything has gone wrong this season. The holding mids simply havn't been able to control the midfield or to stop opposing attackers. I wouldn't recommend any of these.

27 - Jailton: 86 - -1 - 85 (2 starts, 1 sub)

25 - Leandro Donizete: 81 - +2 - 83 (4 starts, 1 sub)

23 - Rodrigo Mancha: 84 - / - 84 (3 starts)

21 - Dirceu: -- New -- 73 (1 start, 1 sub)

Attacking Midfielders:

Renatinho has been the most spectacular, starring in the 5-0 drubbing and scoring a goal in his other start. He will be getting more action. Carlinhos has been so-so, showing flashes of his potential, but never controlling the ball that long. Pedro Ken is decent, but probably never going to develop into that much of a player. He strikes me as the type that will make a living in Japan, to be honest.

26 - Carlinhos Paraiba: 84 - +1 - 85 (4 starts)

25 - Ramon: 84 - -2 - 82 (2 subs)

22 - Pedro Ken: 82 - +2 - 84 (5 starts)

20 - Renatinho: 76 - +3 - 79 (2 starts, 1 sub, 1 goal) CR

Attackers:

Marcelinho has been absolutly stellar behind Marcos Aurelio and Ariel, and Bruno has shown a ton of promise. This attack has a ton of potential, but I can see Ariel being replaced by Bruno quite soon.

33 - Marcelinho Paraiba: 90 - / - 90 (4 starts, 1 sub, 4 goals)

25 - Marcos Aurelio: 86 - / - 86 (5 starts, 1 goal)

24 - Bruno Batata: -- New -- 77 (1 start, 3 subs, 2 goals)

23 - Hugo: 82 - / - 82 (2 starts, 1 goal)

23 - Thiago Silvy: -- New -- 71 (1 sub)

21 - Ariel: 82 - +1 - 83 (3 starts, 2 subs)

21 - Leozinho: -- New -- 72 (2 subs, 1 goal)

FLAMENGO

Elite 11

-----------------------Bruno------------------------

----------------Welinton---Ronaldo Angelim----------

----------Airton------Willians----Toro--------------

Leo Moura----Kleberson----Ibson-----------------Juan

---------------------Adriano------------------------

Goalkeepers:

Bruno has looked either good or bad. Most of the time he has been good though. I would've called a rise to 89 before the Coritiba match, but 88 seems fine now.

24 - Bruno: 88 - / - 88 (6 starts)

Centre Backs:

Definatly the weak spot since the retirement of Fabio Luciano. Welinton has been slightly sub-par, Airton, Willians and Toro have all played a bit of centre-back.

33 - Ronaldo Angelim: 87 - +1 - 88 (6 starts)

20 - Welinton: 75 - +4 - 79 (3 starts, 1 sub) CR

Wingbacks:

All three have been good. Everton Silva has tremendous pace and might just be the best buy on this Flamengo squad. Definatly will get more action. Leo Moura and Juan are both almost uniquely attack minded, which gives the DM's that much more to do.

30 - Leonardo Moura: 89 - / - 89 (4 starts)

27 - Juan: 89 - / - 89 (5 starts)

20 - Everton Silva: 74 - +5 - 79 (2 starts, 2 subs) CR

Defensive Midfielders:

This has been the strong point for Fla. Willians has been phenomenal, Fla's most valuable player. Was suspended for one game, and everything fell apart. Toro has done very well filling in, and Airton is about the most defensive minded DM you'll find, other then perhaps Nautico's Johnny.

23 - Willians: 80 - +4 - 84 (5 starts) CR

22 - Toro: 86 - / - 86 (5 starts)

19 - Airton: 83 - +2 - 85 (6 starts) CR

Attacking Midfielders:

Don't be fooled by stats. Kleberson has been away on NT duty. Ibson has been the best player other then Willians for Flamengo. Both have been good and are the starters. It's time to give up on Fierro, IMO. Everton will probably go back to the bench when Kleberson gets back. Alex Cruz is nothing special, nor is Ze Roberto. Erick Flores will need a loan with all the other attacking minded players here.

30 - Kleberson: 87 - +1 - 88 (4 starts)

28 - Zé Roberto: 87 - -2 - 85 (1 sub)

26 - Fierro: 86 - -2 - 84 (2 subs)

25 - Ibson: 88 - +1 - 89 (6 starts)

24 - Alex Cruz: -- New -- 70 (1 sub)

20 - Everton: 82 - +2 - 84 (4 starts, 2 subs)

20 - Erick Flores: 75 - +2 - 77 (3 subs)

Attackers:

Adriano is the clear starter here. The rest will all likely take turns subbing once Fla have their full lineup. They have too many good attackers. Emerson looked good against Sport, but not since or before. Josiel isn't playing enough to be as good as he can, Maxi isn't doing much and Aleilson looked lively in his lone appearance.

30 - Emerson: 79 - +2 - 81 (3 starts, 2 goals)

28 - Josiel: 88 - -1 - 87 (3 starts, 2 subs)

27 - Adriano: 91 - -2 - 89 (3 starts, 1 goal)

24 - Maxi: 85 - -2 - 83 (1 sub)

23 - Aleilson: -- New -- 71 (1 sub)

FLUMINENSE

Elite 11:

--------------------Fernando Henrique----------------------

Mariano------Luiz Alberto-----Edcarlos-----------Joao Paulo

------------------Diogo----Wellington Monteiro-------------

Marquinho----------------Conca-----------------Thiago Neves

--------------------------Fred-----------------------------

Goalkeepers:

Fernando Henrique has been good, he'll take that spot back after his injury.

30 - Ricardo Berna: 80 - +2 - 82 (3 starts)

25 - Fernando Henrique: 87 - / - 87 (3 starts)

Centre Backs:

Fairly obvious here. Captain Luiz Alberto and Edcarlos are solid starters, that won't change anytime soon.

31 - Luiz Alberto: 87 - / - 87 (6 starts)

24 - Edcarlos: 86 - +1 - 87 (6 starts)

22 - Cassio: -- New -- 75 (2 starts, 1 sub)

Wingbacks:

Mariano is clear starter on the right. Diogo has replaced him for his injury, but he'll be back. On the left, it's all Joao Paulo. Was injured for 2 games, but he's easily the starter, quite defensive for a wing-back. Dieguinho is a weak link, I'm not a big fan of his at all.

22 - Mariano: 84 - / - 84 (2 starts, 1 goal)

21 - Eduardo Ratinho: 83 - -1 - 82 (1 start, 1 sub)

19 - Dieguinho: -- New -- 73 (2 starts)

18 - Joao Paulo: 76 - +5 - 81 (4 starts) CR

Defensive Midfielders:

Expect new signing Fabio Santos to fight for a spot. In the mean time, Diguinho will also fight, he's back from injury. Mauricio needs more playing time, he has a ton of potential.

32 - Fabinho: 86 - -1 - 85 (3 subs)

30 - Wellington Monteiro: 87 - / - 87 (6 starts)

26 - Diguinho: 86 - -1 - 85 (1 sub)

22 - Diogo: 85 - / - 85 (3 starts)

20 - Mauricio: 85 - / - 85 (1 start, 2 subs, 1 goal)

Attacking Midfielders:

Thiago Neves has been comparativly poor this season. He hasn't done anything, to be fully honest. Tarta is still a decent prospect, but Carlos Eduardo is the one to look out for here. I havn't watched him yet, but have heard good things. Marquinho and Conca have both been very solid.

26 - Conca: 88 - +1 - 89 (5 starts)

24 - Thiago Neves: 90 - -1 - 89 (5 starts)

22 - Marquinho: 83 - +2 - 85 (6 starts)

20 - Tarta: 82 - -1 - 82 (2 subs)

19 - Carlos Eduardo: -- New -- 76 (3 starts)

Attackers:

Fred is the go to guy, and the only go-to guy. Maicon was played more early on, when the A team was being rested for Copa. Now, Carlos Eduardo is preffered. Still a good prospect, but I don't like him. L. Amaral is done.

31 - Leandro Amaral: 88 - -2 - 86 (1 sub)

25 - Fred: 91 - -1 - 90 (5 starts, 2 goals)

22 - Everton Santos: 83 - / - 83 (2 subs)

19 - Maicon: 77 - +3 - 80 (3 starts, 2 subs)

19 - Alan: 76 - +2 - 78 (1 start, 2 subs)

GRÊMIO

Elite 11:

-------------------------Victor--------------------------

-------------Leo------Rafael Marques-----Rever-----------

Ruy------------------Adilson-----------------Fabio Santos

-----------Souza------------------Tcheco-----------------

--------------Jonas-------Maxi Lopez---------------------

Goalkeepers:

Victor also has started all Libertadores matches, is probably the best keeper in Brazil at the moment. Missed 2 games for International duty.

25 - Victor: 88 - +1 - 89 (4 starts)

22 - Marcelo Grohe: 83 - / - 83 (2 starts)

Centre Backs:

The trio (Rafa,Rever,Leo) has been rock solid. Gaucho, Brasileiro or Libertadores, they have been undisputed and are amongst the top defenders in Brazil right now.

25 - Rafael Marques: 85 - +2 - 87 (6 starts) CR

24 - Rever: 87 - +1 - 88 (5 starts, 1 goal)

22 - Thiego: 83 - / - 83 (1 start, 1 sub)

21 - Leo: 88 - / - 88 (6 starts)

Wingbacks:

Ruy and Fabio Santos have been sensational attacking wingbacks, both deserve rises in their first Grêmio seasons.

31 - Jadilson: 87 - -1 - 86 (2 subs)

30 - Ruy: 87 - +1 - 88 (5 starts)

29 - Joilson: 88 - -2 - 86 (2 subs)

23 - Fabio Santos: 82 - +3 - 85 (6 starts, 1 goal) CR

20 - Helder: 85 - -2 - 83 (1 sub)

Defensive Mids:

Grêmio cannot wait for Willian Magrao to come back. They are much better with him then with Adilson, who has struggled. Will still get a nice rise though.

33 - Tulio: 87 - / - 87 (3 starts, 1 sub)

22 - Adilson: 80 - +4 - 84 (5 starts)

Attacking Mids:

Souza has been the top man here, in all competitions. He needs to get his 89 back eventually, starting off with 88 though. Douglas Costa is a top prospect, who hasn't shown much yet this season.

33 - Tcheco: 88 - / - 88 (5 starts)

30 - Souza: 87 - +1 - 88 (6 starts, 2 goals)

18 - Douglas Costa: 78 - +2 - 80 (5 subs)

Attackers:

Jonas has been the better of the strikers, unfortunate to get a slight injury. More was expected from Alex Mineiro, he has been disappointing.

34 - Alex Mineiro: 88 - -1 - 87 (3 starts, 1 sub

25 - Maxi Lopez: 86 - +1 - 87 (6 starts, 1 goal)

25 - Jonas: 85 - +1 - 86 (3 starts, 1 sub)

25 - Herrera: 85 - / - 85 (4 subs, 1 goal)

Re: Full look at Brazil: Part 1

Very nice thread!

Must have taken you a lot of time for this one. Thank you lots.

It's a shame that Douglas Costa hasn't had many opportunities again to warrant a good rise for a very promising player. Also, I'd like to point out the Santos player "Paulo Henrique Lima" could not be found on the SM DB, but I found "Paulo Henrique Chagas" which is probably him... also 19 and rated 71. Although the "kid" looks rather old on photo lol.

Yeah that's him. I'm hoping SM edit the names to fit how they are really known. Victor Simoes is known as SIMOES DE OLIVEIRA, Victor as well, there are a few names that don't match.

Figured it was easy to tell which Paulo Henrique was which ;)

Re: Full look at Brazil: Part 1

These are the kinds of threads that make the game so worthwhile

Searching for Brazilians on SM is one of life's little challenges ... How best to address the difference in names, I wonder? I know if at least six or seven whose names have caused me grief. Is it worth sending a ticket?

Thanks again, Mark. Awesome work, as always

Great thread,

I'd like your views on whether Ibson will be able to make the grade at PORTO, surely he's good enough to go straight to Spain & what happened to Kleberson with Man utd: he had a great world cup but nothing after that, only to Turkey & then home, culture & language problems ??

Do u know anything about the vasco de gama youth player Philippe Coutinho Correia(on loan at Vasco, but is on the books at Inter Milan), apparently he gonna be a superstar, & not on the data base.

I look forward to your next thread, once again , nice 1.

Sorry if this is rather ****.it's my 1st postin' :D:D

Hope this looks a little better :-P

I will answer the Porto bit and that answer is no. He has been loaned out for two years and Porto want to get rid of him as soon as possible for 4 Million Euros. Looked promising in his first season but really flopped in the second. So no Ibson for Porto ever again unless Jesualdo Ferreira has a change of heart..

Re: Full look at Brazil: Part 1

Another brilliant thread Insider.

I know you haven't covered Vitória yet but I was wondering what you thought of Willian Fernando da Silva who appears to be called Fernando WILLIAM on SM.

I was considering selling him and taking a small profit as he hadn't played since his transfer in January but then I noticed that he made two recent league appearances at the end of May.

What do you think of his short/medium term prospects?

I'll wait for the rating changes. The names may be a bit off, I went by their real names here. If you want the real SM names, check out the thread in my sig.

Once the rating changes are done, I'll send tickets with all the names that need to be updated.

31 - Eduardo: 81 - +3 - 84 (6 starts) is already an 85 rated GK for Nautico?

Wow. He's been an 81 in my bigger thread since January. Shows how much people actually read' date=' doesn't it? He'll stay at 85 then.

Ibson is good enough to make it in Europe now. He won't get another chance in Porto, but he's a changed man. I know I'd love to see him signed at Atlético, my club. Internacional, Cruzeiro, CSKA and FC Koln have all shown interest.

Porto will sell him in the next 2/3 weeks, and they will regret it.

Short/medium term? You can get better. You can get a ton of better players then him.

Fantastic thread.

Can anyone tell me roughly when the ratings will be done? Ive been out of the game for a while.

Cheers

After the summer rating changes. So about two months.
