Juninho Pernambucano joins Qatari Champs Al Gharafa

Former Brazil international Juninho has completed his move from Lyon to Qatari champions Al Gharafa.

The 34-year-old, a free-kick specialist, has signed a two-year contract with the Middle East club.

Juninho, capped 40 times by Brazil, has been brought in to replace Nashat Akram, who recently joined Dutch club FC Twente.

To be Honest With you i think this was a really bad move as he was on the Genoa Wanted list, but i seprose at 34 years of age hes not getting any younger, but still hes a Class player better than the Qatari League, but best wishes to him.

What Do you think to his move to Qatar?

Couple links to prove lagit move :)

Re: Juninho Pernambucano Heads to Qatar

If I was in the ratings predictions game I would say a -2 next time, for the move alone. Obviously he has gone to fund his retirement fund rather than for footballing reasons. Kind of the same situation as Pascal Feindouno last year don't you think?

Apart from the age difference between the players, Juninho's got about 2 seasons left in him whilst Feindouno has got about 5 or 6. The Qutar league are quietly trying to improve there league with signings like this (apart from when they tried to lure Eto over there last year) and fair play to them and the players if they buy into the vision, obviously dosn't help us on SM with ratings thou particulary after mexico was downgraded yet again recently and that league in all fairness is fairly strong.

i still have him at lyon and in a predicament.

hes rated 94 i think from memory. im in a promotion race with 10 games left. do i keep him for my promotion push or sell him now. i know his rating is likely to drop.

can anybody tell me if the frence ratings are being done in the next 5 weeks. if not then im safe to keep him until after the season.
