Re: The Npower Championship 2010/11 Season

Ahaha I didn't take it personally :D

I feared at 3-0 that it was gunna become quite embarassing' date=' but managed to save some dignity by the end. Plus, no Moreno, Victor, Gallagher, Crncic, shocking defending and a lack of physical fitness was always going to end up as a defeat.[/quote']

I'm glad you didn't :)

I have no Nails now! We always end up throwing away leads or hanging on by the skin of our teeth. You hit the post from a free-kick which I have to say was taken too quickly for my liking and Dyer had a shot from the edge of the box which hit the underside of the bar and bounced away. But too be honest we had some good chances aswell, Ambrose missed a one on one and Weale had to parry a very good Ambrose free-kick. Zaha had two one on one's which were both given offside but you could see from the stands they weren't.

All right' date=' maybe it was. But didn't you look at the fixture list and view Derby at home as a game you should really be looking at to take points from. And to be honest, that part of your post is almost spot on. Maybe I should have considered that before I made that post :o:([/quote']

Hmmm I think you may of underestimated us. I like that. It means we are under the radar. However, keeping my feet on the ground, Midtable is a realistic target and anything better than that is a bonus.

Re: The Npower Championship 2010/11 Season

"Seem" is on paper. If you were to look at that squad on paper and also what they've done in recent seasons' date=' then surely they would be considered a side better than just staying in the NPC.[/quote']

A 'keeper who was in League 2 last season, a Derby reject, an Ipswich reject (who couldn't cut it in League 1), a Preston reject, a Swansea squad player. Behind three midfielders who have never played at this level before and got over-ran in League 1, a winger who has never played at this level before and a striker who has never played at this level before.

On paper we have a bunch of inexperienced players who have yet to prove themselves. They have ability, but on paper I don't think we're any better than Derby.

No, not at all. I have no idea what any game is going to be like, this league is very competitive and there's very little difference between the sides. We could beat anyone on our day. We could lose to anyone on their day. Every game is winnable, every game is loseable (or a word to that effect). It all depends on how well we play on each particular day, how well our opponents play, and very little to do with how good they look on paper. This is an unpredictable league this year, there are no easy games.

While I see your point' date=' but to go away to Bristol City and not just win, but win in such excellent fashion, must surely suggest something about their squad and their manager. I didn't see too many sides doing that last season.[/quote']

Oh without a doubt, it's a cracking result. But it is only one game, they played very well and Bristol City were missing several key players. You can't read too much into one game. If they continue to play like that and dig out results like that, and come November/December are up there, then by all means start praising them. But it is only one game.

Re: The Npower Championship 2010/11 Season

TBH i was never impressed by Leicster. I think they will be humbled this season as their play last year was completley underserving their high placed finish.

Manciniscarf you say Leeds should be beating Derby at Ellend Road. I dont know how much you have seen of Derby but id be interested to find out.

Derby had an awful season last year which was down to injuries. We had 15 players out at one point in the season.

Playing a fully fit derby side which is greatly improved from last season is not a fixture you should approach thinking you have a devine right to get something out of.

I agree with Seft in the observation that on a different day we could have won by a few goals and i agree Leeds also could have won by a couple of goals also had some of those goals been on the other side of the post.

I still believe it was a penalty despite what the maggots on the football league show will have to say tonight.

10 points to anybody who can tell me how many times Lawrenson say 'Ya knerrr' a game. lol

Please dont compare Kisnorbo to Barker :D. He looked like Tom Cruz today. lols.

Wozza, get yourself down to that season ticket office as it seems Cloughie might have got himself a good little squad togeather.

I appreciate your match thoughts on Derby, alot of the time you put across what i want to say but im mostly in such a pi$$ed of mood to convey my thoughts effectivley. lol

Id be happy with 10th this year. Decent finish and a sign of progression.

I think Leeds are a good side and will easily finish mid-table.

How much of Leicester did you see? The goals on the Football League programme and maybe home and away?

Yeah, underestimating anyone at Championship level is a mistake. You did have some very good results last season, including a 3-0 win over Newcastle. And you have got a very respectable squad to be fair, especially the likes of Commons and Addison and Savage.

Re: The Npower Championship 2010/11 Season

Derby won, whether it was a penalty or not it obviously was in the referee's eyes, therefore a penalty, he doesn't have all the replays and i'm not too fussed.

Looking forward to watching some HD football tommorow, Sheffield Utd - Cardiff followed by Chelsea-Man.Utd

Rooting for Blades & Blues. But not bothered about the community shield game aslong as it's a good game and Hernandez is playing.

http://swns.com/millwall-fan-in-hospital-after-bristol-city-game-update-072201.html

millwall fan is in hospital, no1 dies thank god

the coach that got attacked wasn't an official millwall coach and wasn't in the police escort

the people who travelled on the coach hung around after the game,

they started headed back towards the motorway but couldn't cross the bridge due to a bridge swing and the coach got attacked.

anyway enough about the idiot element of the club

we got outplayed today and deserved to lose, we still need more signings, and another forward as vokes is injured aswell :o

thats 9 injuries now and a suspension after stewart got shown a red card so we are down to the bare bones of the squad

but its early days, once players are back to full fitness the results will come, its going to be a frustrating start to the season

Sorry' date=' I haven't got the hang of these faces yet :D:o:):(:mad::P;)[/quote']

Just realised you only joined here this month, could've sworn you've been here for months. Must've been someone else in the past with the same avatar.

Welcome, good to have another Leeds fan around the place. :) Col barely comes on here anymore and Tom likewise, leaving just me, studge and the Aussie who keeps on changing their name!

And my piccy of Howson's better. ;)
