On His Way To Darlington

Today Roy Keane has told Birmigham fans that Stephen Carr is on his way out to Darlington for 800K the Right Back joined the team from retiyerment last season on a free tranfer and manager Keane feel the time is right to sell the player also he is un needed as we have a lot of good younger players that can play in that position and he is 4th chose for that role so thanks for your service but your time is up.

Today Keane has also told press that Nicky Butt from newcastle is in talkes with him over a contrct to make a sharp retern to the Premiaship for a deal beleaved to be around 4M the player has been linked with over teams but it seems Birmigham could be the team to get the Defencive Midfilder the manager has told press he is needed and he is happy to be paying 4M for him and he could be here in the next 24H.

Football fans all over the country are eagerly anticipating the opening day of the Coca Cola Championship season. We take a look at the opening fixtures:

Part 1

4-swansea-city-738.gif4-crystal-palace-679.gif

Swansea City vs Crystal Palace

After losing manager Roberto Martinez, Swansea have appointed Romano Valente as their new manager. He will be looking to get off to a good start against Crystal Palace who had a disappointing campaign in 08/09. The Liberty Stadium was somewhat of a fortress for Swansea last year, and Jason Scotland will be key to their success this season. (I checked, he's still there despite moving to Wigan in reality.)

..%5Cassets%5Cimages%5Clogos%5CSheffieldWednesdayLogo.gif..%5Cassets%5Cimages%5Clogos%5CBristolCityLogo.gif

Sheffield Wed vs Bristol City

Bristol City failed to impress last season, after reaching the Play off finals in 2008. They finished 10th in the final league table, just two places above Sheffield Wednesday who they play on Saturday. Both clubs will be looking to make a good start to this campaign.

West_Bromwich_Albion_crest.thumbnail.pngIpswich-Town.thumbnail.png

West Brom vs Ipswich Town

After a disappointing season in the Premier League, West Brom will be looking to maintain their reputation of playing good football in the Championship this season. Ipswich didn't have the best of seasons in 2008/09 but additions such as Lee Martin and Damien Delaney could make them a force this season, especially with Mexican Giovanni Dos Santos in their ranks.

middlesbroughfc01.gifPeterborough_United_Logo.PNG

Middlesbrough vs Peterborough United

Middlesbrough were unable to avoid relegation from the Premier League last season after several years in the top flight. If manager Shinchien Leong can keep hold of their valuable assets they are certainly one of the contenders for automatic promotion this year. Their opponents are also new to the Championship via promotion from League 1. Two successive promotions is a fantastic feat in itself, could they make it three?

doncs.jpgreading%20crest.jpg

Doncaster vs Reading

Doncaster had a good first season in the Coca Cola Championship last year finishing 14th, while their opponents on Saturday, Reading, finished 4th. Despite their strong finish, they were beaten by Burnley in the Play off Semi Final thanks to great goals from Paterson and Thompson in the second leg. Reading have since released captain Graeme Murty and are hoping to build under the stewardship of new manager Ryan Pearson.
