Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread

Good list ;)

About James and Rafa' date=' what I heard about Rafa is that he doesn't enjoy the training sessions and I haven't heard that from James. If this is true I think it could become a problem in his evolution[/quote']

Thanks mate, James's problem wasn't training.

He just enjoyed the night life of Porto (the city), in inappropriate times - close to matches, for instance. :D

I do agree with you about Rafa. As much talent as the kid has, hard work is much more important. ;)

Just look at Cristiano Ronaldo: Messi is much more talented than him, but the Portuguese's extraordinary work ethic lets him rival with the Argentinian.

Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread

So wasn't James Rodríguez and look at him now! :)

I don't know what rating they'll reach' date=' but these are promising ones:

[b']William

Rafa Silva[/b]

João Mário

Carlos Mané

Paulo Oliveira

Rony Lopes

Tozé

Ilori

Vezo

Cancelo

Cavaleiro

Bernardo Silva

Iuri

Podstawski

Gonçalo Guedes

José Sá

Ricardo Horta

Bruno Fernandes

Bruma

Luís Rafael

André Silva

The bolded ones are those that I really recommend. ;)

I would say Bebé now at Benfica' date=' Carlos Mané already playing as a starter, Bruma getting back from injury, Bruno Fernandes continuing his success in Italy, Raphael Guerreiro also playing at a high level on a good championship, Rafa Silva even with my doubts I love him and he is on the national team already, Bernardo Silva and João Mário will become great players, and maybe give Gonçalo Paciência a shot.

I must be forgetting tons of players but those are so good choices

Ps: And Marcos Lopes and Luis Rafael[/quote']

Thank you very much both of you!

Bernardo Silva - to monaco?!

Yes, on loan. I don't get it, as he wont get any gametime there most probably... And he really needs to play regularly to develop his potential. Bad move, Benfica seems to be completely clueless atm... I guess getting a little bit of money for the loan was the decisive factor...

Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread

And also Cavaleiro to Coruña on loan. Weird stuff going on at Benfica right now...........

Forgot about Cancelo, this one to Valencia.

So... three young gems being shipped out to Coruña, Valencia and Monaco. All three clubs with close ties to Superagent Jorge Mendes (rumours reporting that these 3 youngsters coould all be sold to Jorge Mendes for 30M, like André Gomes was some months ago).

Also rumours that Benfica (mostly via its president LFV) is highly exposed to a recent bankrupcy of a well known Portuguese financial group, thus having trouble to refund short term debt ranking 150M - Benfica has, since January, gathered 100M with the sales of Matic, Rodrigo, Oblak, Siqueira, Markovic, Garay and André Gomes.

Summer with lots of question marks about SLB.

Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread

Ivan Cavaliero how do you think he will play on loan at Deportivo, I have an offer to trade him for Hrgota.

Lukas Reader how do you think he will do at Setubal he is now the number 1 gkp, should hopefully get a rise??

Martins-Indi what are his chances of games and maybe a rise this season?

Mauro Caballero is it worth holding on to him or just punt him on?

Thanks in advance :)

I think Ivan Cavaleiro is good enough to became a starter at Deportivo. He's a good player, he has good pace, dribbling skills and he scores goals! I would keep him over Hrgota.

I believe Lucas Raeder will be Setubal's #1 yes and therefore his rating will rise this season.

Martins-Indi will be a starter for Porto and he can easily rise to 89 this season.

Mauro Caballero was loaned out to Aves from Portuguese Secound League. His rating will not rise this season i suppose. He's still very young and i believe he has some quality, but there might be better prospects out there atm.

Cheers mate, you welcome! :P

The deal was announced by Rio Ave president after the loss against Benfica. But today Valencia's president denied all of those rumors.

Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread

will Ali Ghazal move to a bigger club ? There was the Porto rumour some weeks ago, any news on that ?

Got a 6,5 million offer for him (i have a small club) and i could buy several

youngsters for the money.

Should i keep him ? How good is he long term ?

Thx for the compliments' date=' NDF!

Tbh Rafa wasn't particularly inspired against Boavista.

He's still being used on the wing. :(

He helped out more than usual, defensively.

Some good passes here and there, but he isn't in his element on the wing. He never really made the difference in 1 on 1 situations.

Still 1st game of the season, though.

PS: I'm launching a petition to end the league tomorrow, if neither Arouca and Estoril pass us on the table. :o

Pedro won't be celebrating next week when Vitoria de Guimaraes passes Braga

:D...not :P

They're only (far) superior to us in 1 thing: debt. :D

We're a financially sustainable club btw, unlike the vast majority of Portuguese clubs. ;)
