Counter tactician help

Recommended Posts

When i first got introduced to SM i followed SIR Metz's guide when deciding upon my match tactics. This system was gold and i rarley got beat.

Then came the change. The tactics were changed and SIR Metz's method seem to deteriorate, leaving the system with floors and sending me on inconsistent runs and frustrating draws and defeats.

I have been developing a new system over the last month, which as grown stronger and teams are finding me difficult to beat.

Im not going to tell you this system, as everyone will use it but what i am going to do is help anyone out with problems.

If anybody's at a loose end and could do with some help i will tell them what tactic to play against their opponents.

Factors which will effect this system

Opposition doesnt play the tactics that your supposed to be countering.

Your opponent as a far supirior average rated team.

Sending offs, injury's or fielding an unfit team.

Playing players out of position.

If you wish to try this out send me a private message only with the following info

Re: Counter tactician help

Since putting the system into place my win ratio has gone up dramatically, of course SM's wonderful match generation system will throw in the odd stupid defeat but my lovely match schedual screen it mainly covered in blue and green.

You'v been around long enough to know that no system is invincible and i can only give you the best information to my knowledge.

This might turn out to be a failure but it works fine for me so i thought try and help other people who were in the same situation as i was.

Here are all three of last nights results. My team in Bold.

88 1-6 84 (rated team)

88 played 442, Norm, Norm, Direct, DBF and Fast.

-----------------------------------------------

91 0-4 87

91 played Norm, V.Att, Direct, Middle, Fast

----------------------------------------------

78 2-2 79

79 played standard 433 but with attacking mentality.

---------------------------------------------

No criticism intended on my part. I applaud anyone trying to help others.

I just have a few theories of my own on SM tactics, some of which makes long term success unlikely using a system, so I wondered as to the extent of your success.

Re: Counter tactician help

I'm not doing too well with my Barcelona team at the moment. Lost 4-0 at home to Arsenal, and 3-1 at home to Inter. They were managed, so that makes it more realistic I guess.

I know this is no tactics help thread, but can anyone give me any tips? I can only seem to do well on SM with 'weak teams.'

If you don't want to give me advice, can someone please direct me to a thread where I can get some help?

Appreciated :)

Re: Counter tactician help

Had to post to say thanks for your help in getting me a 0-0 draw against a team which for 2 seasons now kept getting the better of me. The added bonus being it's my mate from work so I can now scoff at his "star" players.

Don't know how you did it but many thanks !!!!!! :D

Re: Counter tactician help

I've just gone 10 league games unbeaten in a row with my beloved Roma team, and want to make that 11. I am first place, and my next match is away against second place! And their Inter team is stronger than mine.

I have De Rossi, Juan and Aquilani all out due to injury.

I usually play like this:

style-normal

tempo-slow

passing-direct

men behind ball

counter attack

use playmaker (usually De Rossi)

and I play 4-4-2- diamond.

here is my likely lineup:

GK-Doni

RB-Cicinho

CB-Mexes

CB-Alex Silva

LB-Riise

RM-Renato Augusto

DM-Makoun

LM-Rosicky

AM-Taddei

ST-Vucinic

ST-Olic/Benitez/Llorente

I am against this:

Inter, 4-2-2-2

GK-Julio Cesar

RB-Maicon

CB-Chivu

CB-Cordoba

LB-Maxwell

DM-Zanetti

DM-Cambiasso

AM-Simao

AM-Riquelme

ST-Ibrahimovic

ST-Adriano

attacking

fast

counter attack

use playmaker (Zanetti)

tight marking

offside trap

use target man (Adriano)

Riquelme and Simao are making forward runs

As you can see, I cannot hope to win by more than one goal, if I do win. So are the tactics I'm using good? Or should I change them?

Re: Counter tactician help

i can help you on a match by match basis mate. revealing the system will destroy it.

I have helped anyone who's sent me a pm and guided "the bugel" to 9 victories and 1 draw out of ten games. iv ask him to put up another screenshot of his latest five straight wins in one of his set-ups..

Re: Counter tactician help

i dont believe you should change tactics per game, i have an arsenal team, prob the fifth or sixth best rated team in the league, yet i won the league and cup double in my first season sticking to a tried an trusted 3 4 1 2 , i think you should stick with one maybe 2 formations tops, most top teams play to their strengths, not their opponents weaknesses

Re: Counter tactician help

Counter Tactician ~

Thanks for the help. Was going up against a stronger Milan team today in the Shield Quarter Finals of a WC custom set-up.

1st Division Milan rated 93 vs my 3rd Division CSKA rated 90.

I was going to counter Milan's 3-4-1-2 with my tried-and-true 3-5-2, but thought better of it considering that Milan outclassed my CSKA by 3 BIG rating points.

Played a RB and a LB who were in their secondary positions...

Dominated the match in terms of possession and completely shut down Milan's #10, Kaka (rated 4 for the match). Their lone goal was a Juninho free kick..

I am not sure if the shots & shots on goal stats are what you expected... let me know... That said, I certainly got the end result that I hoped for.

Thanks again...
