Re: The Official Valencia C.F. Thread

Is baraja likely to rise for valencia and is he a first teamer

dont think so.. admittedly i havnt been keeping tabs on them since the end of the season

however he dindt play regualrly last season and was pretty average when he did.

also he is 34 and they have better played like Albelda in the same position.

Re: The Official Valencia C.F. Thread

Villa and Silva are likely to stay thanks to Valencia arranging an alternative solution with the banks for the money they owe. Valencia won't have to sell their stars anymore.

Good news for Valencia. Bad news for Madrid and Barca :D

Tbh though, if Alonso goes to Madrid (which looks likely) then I can see us signing Silva with that money.

That's good because they won't be ruined at madrid by not playing.

Yeah mate but if valencia were still in the position where they'd HAVE to sell their star players then Silva heading to Liverpool would've been inevitable. Now it's a matter of Valencia and whether they WANT to sell. The chances of Liverpool buying Silva has decreased becauce of the financial arrangements for Valencia. A few months back and Silva would've been having his medical at Anfield now...

A team of Valencia's status should obviously be competing for the title but it has been Madrid / Barca / Villareal and Sevilla. IMO and think it's likely to stay that way :o

Yeah. I was guessing that Villa was Madrid's first choice THEN Benzema...? So if Villa arrived at the Bernabeu then Benzema wouldn't have...?

If it was so then Villa would have got a bucket load of games ;)

Yeah I agree but Valencia would still listen to serious offers, wouldn't they? I mean, although they have made an agreement with the banks, they still have to pay it back. Although saying that, like you said our chances now have decreased and the price would also rise.

But its clear that we're strongly interested in him and if Alonso goes then I can see us, well, at least making an attempt to sign him.

Re: The Official Valencia C.F. Thread

so..... Villa staying then?

At the moment looks like he will stay with both Valencia and Villa not wanting him out of the team.

Who have they signed??

Miguel Angel Moya from Mallorca joined them for about 5m.

They got Bruno on a free.

Jeremy Mathieu on a free transfer from Toulouse as well.

Angel Dealbert from Castellon also joined them.

That's all that I know.

Is baraja likely to rise for valencia and is he a first teamer

He was a great and loyal servant for Valencia, but his age start to show, so the most likely answer is no.

Re: The Official Valencia C.F. Thread

Manuel Fernandes is still having trouble with that injured foot of his. Not good news, given he's gonna be a key player for them this season. :o

It'll be interesting to see who partners him in central midfield. Will it be Michel or Banega?

Also, Mathieu's the first choice LB, with Carleto (probably) as his understudy, so where does it leave del Horno?

Morretti?

Re: The Official Valencia C.F. Thread

To be honest, I think Moretti can maintain his 91 with a succesful campaign.

Back to Valencia, Carleto looks very promising and I think he can really make LB his own (again, I've never seen Matheiau, so I don't know how good is he). No idea about Del Horno, but I've heard that he might go back to Athletic  (again, a quite unreliable source). And as far as I've heard, Fernandes should be ready for the season (I could be wrong)

Re: The Official Valencia C.F. Thread

Milito was playing for Argentina as well as scoring goals for fun, whereas Moretti's never played for Italy (and I don't regard him highly, personally), so I'm not sure I agree with Tom Erdenay that the guy can keep his 91, Europe or no Europe. :o

Mathieu's very highly regarded by some of our fellow forumers who follow Ligue 1 regularly, like Didi. If I recall correctly, he was of the opinion that Mathieu was technically good, quick and superb in attack, and is a dead ball specialist also.

Fernandes is experiencing pain in that foot because the metal plate inserted during the surgery to treat the injury has been touching a nerve (literally). This has been happening on occasions ever since he got a blow to the foot during training, according to a report I read somewhere. :(
